  1. I have said all throughout this season that Walter Smith is nothing like what he was when he was with us last. He has made countless bad decisions and these will come back to haunt him.
  2. Nobody really has. That's why i said footballs all about opinions. Yours and mine are but a few. But i feel i have watched enough of them in reserve and under 19's to believe in them. I dont think there is any romance about them either, purely potential is what wins me over. I agree, but he IS the Rangers captain and in recent months his play has been nothing short of awful. Thats why i feel someone else has to be given a chance, as until they are we will never know if anyone can step up. the damage has now been done so i don't see any harm in trying something else for a few games. You have to realise that if you conduct yourself in the manner Ferguson has whilst being the Rangers captain, then you are setting yourself up for heavy criticism and a mighty fall. I was suprised Ferguson did though as i thought he was more experienced. Also, if you take the job of Rangers captain part of your job is to shoulder the blame. Ferguson just doesnt seem that good at it.
  3. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Heard it all before
  4. Yes, i have watched them this season and it is my opinion they are ready. Footballs all about opinions, i have watched the reserves and the under 19s almost every week and feel that they show more fighting spirit than most of the first team. There are players in that reserve side that could step up and take a few players jerseys. Those claiming Edu isnt ready cannot judge the boy on a couple of first team games. Since he last played he has spent months in the reserves standing out from the rest, indicating that he AT LEAST deserves a chance to get a shot in the first team. From what i have seen in recent months of Fleck, Edu, Aaron, and to a lesser extent Naismith, they COULD do us a turn if given an opportunity. Barry Ferguson has done nothing for us for months, and everytime i watch him i feel like the guy thinks he's impregnable and untouchable. Strolling around the park thinking he's billy big bollocks. Yet, most of the fans feel he does crap every week. We have some incredibly talented youngsters who could step up and do a job. Whether it is the correct time to do it or not is debatable i agree, but that is Walter Smiths fault for trying to stick with the direness of Ferguson , McCulloch and co. Ofcourse we all realise we have a title to win. The youngsters i mentioned will have to be given a chance now because i cannot see Ferguson pulling us through to the title now. No-one can tell if the younger players will be able to win us the league, i am merely stating that those players would be better off attempting to win us games rather than Fergie and co, in my opinion.
  5. Fleck IS ready. Edu IS ready and can do a job. He just needs a chance. Naismith i agree is hit or miss But i'd rather him than the way Ferguson has played the last few games. The other one i'd give a chance would be Aaron.
  6. so, you were serious when you said Dailly, Ferguson, McCulloch? oh dear.
  7. nah, why not Fleck Mendes Davis Edu or Naismith that sounds better mate:flipa:
  8. Maybe so, but Ferguson Mendes and Davis sounds WORSE to me anyway!!!
  9. I'm staggered at this news. I honestly feel Walters been watching Ferguson for the past few months and not been happy with what he has seen. I really do feel that he has used this event as an excuse to get rid of Ferguson because he hasn't acted anything like a Rangers captain should and instead has selfesly tried to better himself by playing for us when he is clearly not on form at all. Any captain worth their salt who is HONEST and FAIR would have analysed theirself and realised that he is not doing his club any favours by saying he is fit to play. Most fans(who i am one) have blamed Ferguson for not pulling Rangers through to the top of the league when the chances have been there. If this event is what it takes to get shot of Ferguson once and for all, then i'm behind Walter Smith all the way!
  10. Sounds crazy to be injecting cash to get a club into the Premiership when they are virtually guuaranteed league one football next season. BUT, i like the sound of this venture and can see the long term benefits for both clubs if it works out. It doesnt say if we can get some of their players on loan? I like the look of Varney, Soares, Bouazza and Ambrose and think they could do a job for us. . Imagine if this works. In three years we could get that £24million back plus half of the £30million Charlton will get on gaining Premiership status again PLUS our youth and reserve players will be gaining invaluble Championship then Premeiership football. I must say, i do like the thought of what it could bring, but i just feel it is money we could have used to straighten out our side. I would have liked this news AFTER we won the title as it does show great vision and Charltoin have a very good record of promotion and a lot of people forget just how high they were only 3 or 4 years ago. I'm going to back Murray on this one.
  11. Good on ye mate. Do you think big Derek Johnstone got Doug Rougvie sent off by "acting", or do you think Rougvie chinned him? The Aberdeen goalie Bobby Clark said Rougvie swore blind he never touched Johnstone. But he had a reputation that preceded him, and if he didnt then it was of his own making as he was the Vinnie Jones of his time.:box::box::box:
  12. Does anyone have a link to it? I havent yet seen it and eveyone i know can't stop talking about how BAD an error it was. I MUST see it!!!
  13. "Johansson is not a good enough player to score"? He probably scored more goals than you ya dick. For the teams he played for, and most of them were lower quality than the ones bell- end played for, and it probably works out as a better scoring average CONSIDERING the chances Johansson gets compared to that eejit! Fuck off BELL END:flipa:
  14. Nilis was a quality striker. He always done the job for his teams and was sought after from big clubs all throughout europe. I used to like watching him and was disapointed that he decided to join a third rate club in Aston Villa as im sure he could have done it at a bigger stage than that.
  15. I watched this mornings episode of the Big Match revisited and was pleasantly suprised to find the 1979 Scotttish League Cup Final between Aberdeen and Rangers on this. I wont give away the result but you wont be let down should you decide to watch it as it is a controversial match and is quite exciting. It is on ITV4 at 4.05pm this afternoon. It's on every thursday at 11.30am too and contains a lot of old matches from 30 years ago on the day. The other match that is on this edition is the 1979 F.A Cup semi final between Liverpool and Man Utd played at Maine Road Manchester. Enjoy:cheers:
  16. used to love that prog. Micaela Strachan always looked like the sexiest woman alive at 2 in the moring with my beer goggles on. She IS nice, but not as nice as i thought she was.
  17. I think your right. And that may have been because it was rearranged from a postponment. But, i could have sworn i saw it on one of the old Rangers videos in the 1990s.
  18. Good memories lads. You've bolstered my memories of that game even further. As soon as you told me it was a rearranged fixture i remembered. Thats why i was there as i could get tickets easy because it was arranged at short notice. You must have been quite near me 26th as i was behind the goal but more in a corner towards the stand across from the main stand at Fir Park. Yes, i remeber being at Roberts debut against Utd on a boxing day too. It was freezing that day but Roberts spiced it up with some right juicy tackles. Thanx lads. p.s if you or anyone else finds a link let me know please. Cheers.
  19. What a good, informative post Bluedell. Thank you for sharing that. So how hard did you kick the ball then? Let us know. You made it sound very interesting and having never been before i think i shall go and pay a visit.
  20. Does anyone have a link to a absolute screemer of a goal that Graham Roberts scored for us against Motherwell at Fir Park. Not sure of the date, and i think the score was 1-0 to us. It was a 40 yard shot and i think it was early on in the game. I always remeber this goal as i was in the Rangers end and the crowd were in totla disbelief that it was Roberts who hit such a sweet shot. Any help would be much appreciated.
  21. See, i thought about that being the reason. Maybes it's just my cynical of head but i feel they would have to get something out of it. But, could be wrong!
  22. Bugger, i've got setanta and not Sky Sports:(
