  1. Cotter, why didn't you put on the 'fishing rod' smilie? lol
  2. *cough -Ahem, always thought his decisons were spot on, if you know what i mean!
  3. The S.P.L championship trophy will be presented on Sunday to either Rangers or Celtic. For the 4th time in 7 years it will be flown to the winners ground by helicopter. But, what most people don't know is that the pilot is a big bluenose called Dave Young. Dave told Rangers TV how he was gutted to fly the helicopter to Tannadice last season to present the trophy to Celtic. But, he went on to say, how he'll be delighted if he is flying to the same destination this season. Give Dave a wave as he parks his copter at Tannadice on Sunday lads.
  4. If Winter wrote that, that confirms it. I honestly had no idea. Thats fine though as he has picked the right team. As i said though, it's ludicrous he is getting so much stick from Celtic fans intent on trying to wind him up and start rumours. On another point, anyone watch Soccer a.m on sky one on a staurday morning? Jeff Winter gets so much stick on that programme it's unreal. They dress up as him and take the mick. But i shall be standing up for him in the future.:box:
  5. is he? Even if he was then the only reason he is getting all these letters is to wind him up. And as one dim said, as part of "the media love in" which is an absolutely rediculous thing to believe in the first place.
  6. I was thinking of how it might go on Sunday giving that Dundee utd need a draw to get into europe. It just sounds so familiar, as i can remeber in 2005 when we played Hibs at easter road to win the league, Hibs needed a 1-0 defeat to get into europe. We obviously need a win, or to match anything Celtic do. But there is too many Celtic fans thinking they have won against Hearts already. But for me, Hearts are the team i would have picked to play Celtic to try get a point off them if i could have. So, on Sunday if Hearts manage to draw against Celtic or beat them, and Rangers and Utd are matched at say 1-1, a repeat of helicopter sundays scenario at Easter rd could occur with both teams sitting back passing the ball around, not pushing up, as both sides are content with the result. I just have a feeling Celtic are going into this game with the wrong attitude and they'll find out Hearts will punish them. I'll go for 1-1. That will mean Rangers and Utd can both get what they want with a draw, and we may even see this scenario repeated towards the end of the game as both sides will not want to lose what they have, and may see it as silly to keep pushing on when they have got what they want. Obviously i want a win on Sunday, and there will definetly be a few goals at Tannadice on Sunday. But again, i think as the Celtic result will be 1-1, this will filter through to both sides who will be tied at that point at 1-1. That will be the final score and Gers will lift the trophy by 2 points
  7. It is indeed Mr Johnstone SA, main commentator is Peter Martin, also the first guy to talk after Martin describes the goal is Davie Provan, all on Radio Clyde. You can tell D.J is trying to talk neutraly and calmly as he is a massive bluenose, obviously as a former player too. But he can never restrain himself and the high pitched squeeky noise emitting from his mooth is just excitement at Gers pinching the league from the sewer rats. He might be a massive bluenose but i just dont like the guy, he still thinks he is it when he is just a old man.
  8. Thats brill ian. It is truly amazing to read the crap and vileness that spouts out a Celtic fans mouth. They are full of poison rubbish and Mr Winter is a neutral who sounds very intelligent and maybe they should take heed of some of his replys. But, then again, i can see this being put in Kerrydale st with some numpty saying Jeff Winter is a known Rangers fan and part of the 'media love in' to take the title of off Celtic. Aye right Celtic fans. Just fuck off and start drowning yer sorrows early ya chumps.:box::rfc:
  9. I've got a bit of a problem with that punishment, i just think it is total injustice. We ALL know Drogba was over the score in what he done, but i ask you if anyone watched that game and saw how poor that ref was, i think anyone would have been tempted to be dragged down so low. While i don't think Droba was right i can totally sympathise with his dilema. The ref had basically robbed the team of at least 3 stonewall penalties and various other absolutely rediculous decsions. The way i'm looking at it is if Rangers were playing in that game, put so much effort to get into the semi final of the biggest club competiton in the world, and you are 1 minute from getting to the final and the referee denys a third penalty, your mind would just blow. I can understand it, and i know it is wrong, and he is a pro, but that old clichy does come into it, he is only human and noone is perfect. Especially when your resolve has been tested by a seemingly bias, amateur ref for 90 mins.
  10. haha i know, i'm such a sadist. Plenty more of that on Sunday for them will do me. I love a dim greetin intae his scarf.:devil: p.s well done on the gersnet awrd mate. haven't had the opportunity to tell you since it went up!
  11. That vid is truly spectacular. I like how the lyrics say "if you want it you got to believe" and at the same time it shows big Marvin, the architect of the phrase "believe". Seeing Mcdonald scoring against Celtic seems strange now, yet at the time i remember he was hotly tipped to go to us. And every time you met a dim you whislted the 'mcdonalds' ad to them in jest. The dim at 3.12 is hilarious :pissing myself: Dado singing will go down in Gers folklore. Maybe i'm getting all emotional, but the guy that made this vid should get an awrd from Rangers for it is so emotive in context and touches every bluenoses heart. One last thing, it is unbelievable to think that was the last time we won the league. Just look how the team has changed with those players to what we have now. It truly is FAR TOO LONG since we won the championship.
  12. Yes, but if you can imagine that hanging over yourself ian and you went to train each day still not knowing if you'd play in the last showpiece of the season, AND if you were a player with Gers and you played with Bougherra, i think you would realise how much of an influence he was for the team, maybe if you were the likes of Dailly you'd be thinking 'if he doesnt play i'm gonna have a shocker of a game', right up till today! Not sure, i just hope they havent been aloud to think of daft diversions like this.
  13. I think we all thought this would happen, but by god they didnt have drag it out. I hope this hasn't helped to take our eye of the ball.
  14. Yeah i got to agree with you there gav, i just get the impression he just sucks right up players like that standards arsehole.
  15. I actually felt a bit sad thinking back to all that we had to celebrate up to the final whistle last year at this time. And seeing the UEFA cup being held aloft again filled me with sadness that we didnt get that chance.

    Pictures

Pic 21 just epitomises what Celtic fans look like to me. Absolute mhanky looking, Oirish, Caravan dwelling, rather smelly, totally paranoid moaners:flipa::flipa: P.s i.m gonna use pic 5 as my avator for a while.
  17. I have one icon for Mr Pressley. And here it is.....
  18. To be fair though, how the feck does he know anyway? I take it the complainer was there was he? What an absolute knobend to compair something that he saw with today, with something he probably saw an old black and white grainey still of. Someone said they stoop to any length. Well, this is a new low and if twat Ewan had been listening properly he would have been able to have edited that out before the 5 second delay elapsed. Do your job properly Ewan Cameron. Maybe if you stopped arseing about telling jokes you wouldnt have missed a total scumbag getting on air trying to wind half of Glasgow up. *A ever so slightly upset Gers supporter:admin:
  19. Norris i have read over all your argument from the start of this thread to the last and you do make some very good points and the argument is mostly good. I feel if your minds made up it will be very hard to change it, but i hope you can see my point of view on why we should be keeping Smith. The one point you made i found really very harsh on Walter Smith is when you said he hasn't won the league since coming back as manager. I think Calscot covered all my thoughts on that statement anyway, so i won't go through them. But it is an incredibly hard judgement when you consider what he HAS done(which is basically everything except the league..which on Sunday will make your point a mute one anyway if we win at Tannadice). When he came back in January 2007, Murray asked him to get the club back challenging, to make them succesful again and to win the league of Celtic. He has done all of that... come Sunday!(without wishing to jinx it) The league will be won on Sunday as Smith will ensure these players don't mess it up. So in 2 and 1/2 years will have won the league, Probably 2 Scottish Cups(out of 2), 1 league cup( and an appearance in the final of the other he contested), and 1 SPL title(out of 2)(and we all know the exceptional circumstances of the other one he lost), AND a big bonus of an appearance in a major European final(the last being in over a generation ago in 1972). I just feel that in 36 months, whatever way he plays, and whoever plays in whatever position, that is an incredible achievement.
  20. Absolutely fantasticly put Calscot. I tried to put it the way i felt it was at present, but you have bettered that with your post there. I couldn't have put it better myself. And, the point you raise about who would we bring in is very daunting indeed. We seem to have one of the best ever managers in Scottish(if not British) football at our door and yet most seem to want rid of him. However, i do feel it is too late to convince the man to stay as he does seem tire dof it all and i'm now virtually one hundred per cent sure that Rangers supporters will look back a year or 5 years from now and they will WISH that they had the man as their manager at that time. I'm not a Smith purist, and i have only begun to realise we should be breaking our backs to keep the man, and to persuasde him to do a Sir Alex. But as seems to be the tradition with us, we will let our best players and managers go and then start to wish we had done more at the time to keep him.
  21. Likewise. IF we do win, and it's still an IF, then there will be 1000's like us.
  22. I'd have him around trying to gee up the younger ones who havent been around this like Edu. If it doesnt happen around 60mins i'd bring him on. He isnt fit and looks a bit pissed off. But he could do the job he helped to against the sheep(although he done f all, he was on that park pushing others on)
  23. Ok, thats an incredibly good read contained within this topic. Obviously there is a difference of opinion, but the reason i was asking the question in the first place is because i thought most, if not all of us would want to win ugly if need be. So, if thats the case then why are so many people beating Walter Smith into leaving this club when he clearly is an expert at winning ugly(because the fans and pros have labelled him as the master of anti- football)? When Smith came back as manager i was over the moon, but slowly i began to get disillusioned with the poor tactics, out of posistioned players, and the inability to kill off seemingly worse teams than us. But, the longer this campaign has went on i have seen he is an absolute geniusat doing all the 'anti football' and, at the same time, supplying the fans with trophies, finals, and results when needed in most cases if there are no exceptional circumstances. And, i also wanted to know if the fans would sacrifice this for the sake of changing it for a manager who can get the team playing well(as that appears to be one of the main complaints against Smith), but there may not be a supply of trophies coming through Ibrox. Now, the league championship may be coming home and if it does, you really do have to raise a glass to the master of all this, winning us what we asked for in just 2 and a half years during a time when Celtic were totally dominant in Scottish football. Is this a master class in genius we are witnessing here? Now, i fear Smith may get us the title and say 'i'm off', 'i've had it with this sniping' and we may well find ourselves up shit creek looking for someone with half the knowledge he has, and we won't be able to find him. If he does win the league in such a short time with a squad that looks incapable of winning any league title, and with having to constantly duck and dive to aviod criticism, i just feel we are going to see that Walter was exactly what we needed but it will be too late and he'll be gone. This is coming from an initial fan of Smiths who turned unsure of him, particularly during the winter of this campaign, and i am now thinking he may have just been doing the job we were asking him to do in the first place. I hope this makes sense.
  24. I was hoping Hamburg would get to the final, but unfurtunately Werder obliterated their season by putting them out the UEFA cup semi finals, defeating them in the German Cup final, and beating them 3-1 in the league to all but stop their league challenge. Just for that alone, i want Shakhtar to win it, and for the arrogance Bremen showed us when they beat us 1-0 in the UEFA cup last season, but they obviously lost it 2-1 on agg and they spat the dummy out and showed a lot of poor sportsman ship after and during the game in Bremen. So, Shakhtar to win 2-0.
