  1. Just read that article by Alan Brazil. Pretty grim stuff, and that's mild given other forms of child abuse. Fair play to him for coming out.
  2. Aye, you and all the rest of us Still, only once have I actually vaulted the sofa - Bertie Bombscare's howitzer v Them.
  3. It's a poor show from Dolly. However it should be said: If only there were such "outrage" at the time.
  4. There is almost nothing more satisfying in online life than being in a 'debate' on Facebook with someone, and then getting deleted by said person.
  5. Sad to say but I'd have Waghorn behind Garner in the pecking order. And Garner behind a front Three of Miller-Dodoo-Forrester. I've said before, and I still believe, that Garner has something, poor as he was on Saturday. But every time I see him I have the same thought: '£1.6 million'. It's still pretty early days so my trust has to remain with the manager on this one.
  6. Can somebody put this to bed for me. I see a lot of posters putting MOH on the right in their line-ups, but I've always been convinced he was left-footed?
  7. Are those two goals enough to warrant a run of starts from Dodoo? I'd probably say so. As I said in the preview, at the time he just struck me as a guy brought in for the starting XI. Don't forget, this is a guy who scored a hat-trick for the English champions last season. The way he took his first showed his quality and what he's capable of. I sat there in front of my laptop and thought, in true Still Game fashion, 'Aye, no bad' However I'd like to think Dodoo's cameo doesn't overshadow Forrester too much, whom I thought had one of his best games in a Rangers shirt and justified the decision to play him from the start. Until Dodoo came on, he looked like the only player Partick had genuine difficulty with. If Warburton continues with his 4-3-3, then I honestly believe a front line of Miller, Forrester and Dodoo will finally see some goals.
  8. I actually thought Forrester was our MOTM today. Forrester, Dodoo and Miller for me, if we're playing a three up top.
  9. 2-1 Rangers. Dodoo is class. Has he earned a start now?
  10. You chaps need to get Rangers TV and cut the chaff out of your lives. Tom Miller Loyal
  11. I just knew that would be misunderstood! I mean the modern era, as in post-Souness say.
  12. I see that poll has closed. The results are pretty representative, the top 6 is pretty much what I'd have, other than perhaps having Aberdeen 5 and Dundee 6. 1. Rangers 2. Celtic 3. Hearts 4. Hibs 5. Dundee 6. Aberdeen I had some reasonable Celtic fans as friends during my university days. Every one of them admitted we had more fans.
  13. Right. He went through Busquets. And don't forget he wore short sleeves. Seven. Jesus wept. Confidence and intent? It was embarrassing to see him on the same pitch as those Barcelona players at times.
  14. You know, suddenly, living in my generation seems depressingly sterile....
  15. The 5-0 was towards the end of the 1995/96 season. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995%E2%80%9396_Rangers_F.C._season
  16. Bertie Bombscare gets an honorary exemption for 'that' goal. Plus he was a very nice man, I could never bring myself to disparage him so.
  17. Just dreadful stuff. I also find myself questioning 2 years for utterly ruining a young lad's life.
  18. He was a good laugh last night. I just don't get it. Celtic are a good side now. And they also have Scott Brown.
  19. v Scottish Premier League Saturday 26th November, KO 12.15 Partick Thistle, the only show in town for that small, peculiar band of West End luvvies, right-on student types, and minor celebrities whose childhood bedrooms had their fair share of red, white and blue. And the destination for the Rangers on Saturday as we make the shortest trip of the league season to Firhill. Thistle are perhaps unique in the modern era in that for a team regularly playing in the top flight, they haven’t seemed to achieve anything of note whatsoever. They’ve never reached the higher echelons of the league table, nor won a major trophy, and predictably lie in 10th place at the time of going to press. What they have done, on the other hand, is given Rangers a game on a consistent basis. From memory, since they were put to the sword in 1996 by the big Danish fellow whom Paul Gascoigne once mistook for a urinal, we’ve only ever beaten them by one or two goals. Even if I’m not 100% spot-on with that, they’ve put up more fight than a good few other teams down the years, even if they have difficulty getting over the line and actually beating us. Since the shock of a 3-0 defeat to Thistle in May 1993 (yes, that of all seasons! Gerry Britton!), we’ve generally managed to put the Jags away in the end, the best game for me being turning round a 1-0 deficit in the last 20 minutes at Firhill in a must-win match during the 2002/03 season, Ronald De Boer’s late winner in front of the away end resulting in absolute scenes. I’m led to believe a few things have happened in Scottish football since then, and we find ourselves living in changed times. This season is proving to be hard work, but then the saner amongst us would have predicted it to be so. I wasn’t particularly impressed by Aberdeen when we played them up there, and though consistently one of the better sides in Scottish football over the last few years, ultimately being a diddy team they are liable to lose silly games, so if we can maintain a level of consistency and keep winning games like Saturday, we should absolutely be looking at 2nd place which would represent a successful first season back. I can’t think of another promoted team getting 2nd place in the top flight the following year. The major positive development in recent weeks has been finally looking like we are starting to defend better than a Karl Svensson/Dave McPherson-on-a-bad-day hybrid, leaking only four goals since the drubbing at Parkhead, back in the Joseph Barton era 11 games ago. I was of the opinion Danny Wilson was the best centre back at the club when the season started, but you can’t argue with Hill and Kiernan’s stats since they got a settled run in the team together. Unfortunately, we’re proving a tad powderpuff up the other end of the park. I’ve always been a big fan of Kenny Miller, but I’d like to see Garner and Forrester given an extended run together in a top two. Forrester strikes me as someone who needs the confidence of a series of starts, rather than the fits and bursts Warburton tends to use him in. And Garner, well, I just see something in the guy and liked the look of him even during his first couple of games where he was getting a bit of stick from some quarters. It would also be nice to see Dodoo get some action – at the time I got the impression he was signed as a First XI player, which hasn’t transpired thus far. In the midfield, Josh Windass is another I have liked the look of from an early stage this season. Hopefully he doesn’t join the fabled ranks of injury prone Rangers players, because I would be starting him most weeks. I’m still not sure where his best position is, but he looks a type that will add something from most areas of the park. The others in the line-up pretty much speak for themselves, even big Wes between the sticks whom I reckon is the second best keeper at the club, but who am I to argue with the magic hat? Prediction: Thistle 1-2 Rangers Foderingham Tavernier Kiernan Hill Wallace Windass Halliday Holt O'Halloran Garner Forrester
  20. Most of Scott Brown's career has basically been a bye. Number of bids since joining Celtic (i.e. since 2007) = None Ambition = None If Brown had had the modicum of ambition that almost all half decent Scottish players have and tried his luck in England, he'd have been no more than a bang average Championship player.
  21. Klopp's a good example of one of those human beings whom it's almost impossible to dislike. He's like your favourite uncle, who'd give you a sip of his beer and teach you dirty words.
  22. Now there's a good honest 1950s scoreline
  23. 2013/14 2014/15 Truly harrowing. They should release season review DVDs and market them under 'horror'.
