  1. Ally McCoist has made an absolute mint out of Rangers, I find it hard to understand there being a financial motive in his appearances in the press.
  2. I haven't had access to the Scottish media in a couple of weeks, and am thoroughly unsurprised to come back to wave after wave of non-story upon non-headline. They are really struggling, even by their standards.
  3. I've been offline for a couple of weeks so haven't trawled through the thread, but I can't be alone in finding this Portuguese chap's CV thoroughly uninspiring. I get the whole 'give him a chance' thing, but I simply can't see what he has done to merit getting the Rangers job. Surely if we're considering candidates like Rowett, we have to at least go with the British option. What's wrong with the likes of Michael Appleton? I can just see Caixinha not getting the club or Scottish football at all, and leaving with his tail between his legs after a year and no progress.
  4. How Parkhead continues to get a safety certificate is beyond me.
  5. Manor Ground or the Kassam? I'll admit to having a twitchy arse in the home end (Shed) at Tannadice when we won the league in 09. Seen some raucous stuff up at Pittodrie but was in with the Bears so never particularly bothered about my own safety.
  6. You could make a Netflix series about the goings on at GCC.
  7. I'd be asking for a urine sample from the wee freak.
  8. He looks like a school kid but, well, he's just sensational. He could pick his club and salary just now. Leicester simply fell apart without him, and Chelsea went the other way.
  9. 'A Ball Park of Shit': The SPFL Story.
  10. If it ups the try-count I'm all for it.
  11. What is rather frightening about England is that they've not really been at the races this tournament and they're jogging to the title. It'll be an interesting game at Twickenham. They could smash us, or, you never know... I really like the strength in depth of this Scotland team. We're losing top players through injury yet someone steps in and does the job e.g. Fagerson for Nel, Price for Laidlaw etc.
  12. Where between Alan Stubbs and Robbie Savage does Jose Mourinho go?
  13. I'm just awaiting some crippling strike to complete the deja vu factor.
  14. Scotland 29-13 Wales. Good line from Tom English on the BBC (I know, I know, but his rugby stuff is devoid of agenda): "Scotland are a team that is no longer emerging but that has emerged. That is, in the here and now, a contender." Just the small matter of winning at Twickenham for the first time since 1983 between Scotland and a first Triple Crown since 1990 and going into the final game at home to Italy with a shot at the Six Nations title.
  15. 9-0, 6-0, 7-2, etc. etc. Up there with the worst managers this country has produced.
  16. I'm only surprised Peter Grant and Paul McStay aren't on that list.
  17. And here's me thinking I'd toned it down Albert Tatlock Loyal RSC
  18. Female Prime Minister of a rampant Conservative government, with a Labour party in disarray. Growing suspicion over Russian activity in the east. Scottish rugby team mixing it with and beating the big boys. And a Rangers team not worthy of the name. That's right, it's the early-mid Eighties all over again. Apologies in advance for the negativity, but sometimes a spade is, in actual fact, a spade. This is not an easy preview to write, I can't remember ever having such little enthusiasm over the team, which let's face it has problems all over the park. Defenders who can't defend. A midfield with the heart of a peanut. And strikers who won't shoot. I've been a little alarmed at some post-defeat comments on here about us being 'unlucky', just 'needing a break', etc. The truth is, we are in abject freefall, as clueless as we are directionless. Trying to predict the outcome of Rangers games these days is something of a pointless exercise. Losing home games did for Advocaat and McLeish, the difference now being we don't even have a manager to sack. If we lose this one though, I see no way of Murty ever gracing the dugout again. But with Parkhead looming, the board have a dilemma. Stick with Murty and risk a record defeat, or hand the new manager an Old Firm debut where he risks a doing in his very first game? St Johnstone will fancy turning us over at Ibrox on Wednesday. I think every team fancies turning us over at the moment. Rangers aren't even a scalp anymore. Whoever our new manager is, a base requirement is that opposing teams coming to Ibrox get nothing for free. What we really need, and fast, is a steadying of the ship along the lines of Walter during the second half of the 06/07 season. I remain far from convinced about the Cathro 'revolution' at Tynecastle and they continue to drop points themselves, so, against the grain of this season, I'm pretty confident of 3rd place and European football next season. But something has to change at Ibrox, and before the summer.
  19. The Rangers team of midwinter 09/10 was the best since the heights of the Advocaat era. We'd have beaten today's Celtic side, no doubt in my mind. All Kris Boyd needed to do was sneeze and suddenly we were 3-0 up.
  20. Ally McCoist has taken a lot of flak. He signed Vuckic. Warburton signed: Rossiter Barton Crooks Toral O'Halloran (500k) Garner (1.7m) Etc Etc Etc The more I think about it, the less I think Warburton was an improvement on McCoist. Let's be clear, this next managerial appointment is absolutely huge for us. I pray the board don't fuck this up.
  21. Hold on a minute, where were we exactly under Warburton? I failed to see the sizzling pass and move style. This is simply more of the same, from what I can see.
  22. That's really not what I've seen. When he's actually been given a chance, that is. Shit, we're one down to f*cking Partick, get big Dodoo on. Two goals and three points from said gentleman, thanks very much, enjoy a seat on the bench for four months.
  23. Toral is dung. It's all very well getting these EPL loanees, but we tend to get the ones who are destined for journeyman careers at Gillingham and Colchester.
