  1. Craig if we can't be expected to compete with Celtic then how come the same financial ratios don't stop hearts and Aberdeen from competing with us?

    Can't have it both ways.

I would have more respect for fans who back MW but admit they do so through faith or a gut feeling rather than trying to argue the point with zero facts.

MW's strengths lie as a department head not as a football manager. Would happily see him move upstairs and dictate our football direction

You know, I think you're right. Warburton definitely has something to offer, he just strikes me as more of a Director of Football than a head coach.

  2. Right Im expecting better predictions this weekend but they arent easy and I wouldnt be surprised to see a few shocks. Im just picking out my coupon now and struggling to find a treble thats worth.

I actually Sunderland to win 1-0 but have already put 1-0 Palace in my predictor so wont change it now.

Chelsea 1-2 Arsenal (although I think 1-1 Im backing Arsenal at 3/1)

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Sunderland

    Everton 2-0 Bournemouth

    Hull 1-2 Liverpool

    Southampton 1-1 West Ham

    Watford 2-2 Burnley

    West Brom 1-1 Stoke

    Tottenham 3-0 Middlesboro

    Man City 3-1 Swansea

    Leicester 1-2 Man Utd

These predictions being correct represents the last chance of an open title race. Both Arsenal and Liverpool would be up for it.

If Chelsea win, they have the title IMO. And they'd deserve it too. I read an interview with Robert Pires in the paper this morning, he said titles were won against the likes of Watford, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, rather than in games against the top teams. This has been Arsenal's achilles heel for a number of years now. You just wouldn't expect Chelsea to arse up against these teams.

  3. I tell you what.... I will answer your question... just as soon as you actually answer the question that was put to you.... Or is this one of those "I don't want to answer that question as it proves your point, not mine" ??

To refresh.... How did Man U's patience with Fergie serve them ? Should they have been more impatient and pushed him out the door ? What would the subsequent 26 years have looked like for them ????

But I will answer your question regarding Moyes nonetheless.... Yes, they probably should have kept Moyes - his record was every bit as good as LVG's and he spent far less money. His record is comparable with Mourinho's... and he spent far less money. What have they won since Moyes left ? Nothing. So, yes, based purely on the stats, they should have kept him.

What was your argument again ?

It's not a great comparison to be honest. Unless you truly believe we are going to scale Fergie-style heights in Europe under Warburton.

  4. That's all fine and well - but why was it that teams were shitting themselves when we were next up on the fixture list ? I would say because of the players we had. When we had Gough, Goram, McCoist, Gascoigne, Laudrup etc etc - teams DID shit themselves.

But this is 2017, we have no money and the standard of player we are bringing in are no better than what Hearts, Aberdeen etc are bringing in - which is exactly why they have no reason to be shitting themselves against us.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but it's a little frustrating that my point continues to be misunderstood.

I'm not demanding to win every game. I'm not demanding Laudrup/Gough-type quality. I'm merely demanding the same level of commitment as those players you mention.

Theboyharley makes a good point about the captain. When we go a goal down, I want to see him f*cking roaring at his players. The fans have already done more than enough for this Rangers team.

  5. Gribz, that's a good point about every team raising their game. They smell blood and have absolutely no fear against us!!!

An old-fashioned view I know, but teams should be shitting themselves upon seeing Rangers next up on the fixture list.

OK we're flat broke, but among the many things money doesn't buy you are attitude and application.

  6. I'll say again - I'm well aware of our economic situation and fully accept that we don't have Laudrups and Albertzes. My point concerns effort and professionalism, not quality.

Take as a comparison, oh I don't know, Hearts? Similarly limited quality, but well-drilled, knew their job and did their best to carry it out. In other words, pretty much all you need to pick up three home points against this Rangers side.

Last time Celtic conceded 4 to a non-OF side they had a new manager within days.

  7. That ... is quite an assumption. Have you spoken to any of them?

Perhaps you can come up with another explanation for that gutless performance last night then, or the plethora of similar 'efforts' this season.

You're not going to tell me those players are giving it their everything are you?

  8. We are 18 months into a rebuilding job that most common sense pundits believe will take at least 4 years , we have no money , no retail income and a very poor shirt sponsorship deal . We have at last count 2 possibly 3 court cases ongoing at the high courts in London , not including the criminal case ongoing up here , yet your throwing a huffy fit because we lost a game of football last

    night .

Rangers fans love to quote Bill Struths famous speech , shame some amongst us can't show the same patience .

None of which excuses players not bothering their arse.

I can take getting beat, it's part of the game. But this Rangers team just doesn't care. Which is criminal, frankly.

  9. Every single player should be pulling double sessions @ Auchenhowie until the consistency improves.

Every single player should be out on the training pitch practising, developing & honing their skills/abilities.

If the PLAYERS don't buck up their ideas, they will ultimately cost MW & DW their jobs....

100% correct. However, we all know this won't happen. With honourable exceptions for the likes of Miller, the vast majority of the players simply don't care enough and are happy to pick up a wage, something which has been far more detrimental to us this season than a lack of quality (though Rob Kiernan is a Scottish Championship player if ever I saw one).

  10. I like miller but last night it was clear it just wasnt working with him up front. Halliday and Kiernan were liabilities.

I actually feel sorry for Miller on nights like that. All the great players he's played with in a Rangers shirt, and he is expected to make something happen with a team of disinterested wasters around him.

  11. That was a nice game to give Hearts some hope and inspiration. We took the game at the scruff of the neck halfway down the first half, but Hearts simple killed us with that 2nd goal and then did what we always seem to hate: press, press, press and pestering any man with the ball. They were always first to the second balls, always willing, always at it. No wonder ... with a goal, then two, then three in their back.

I was left staggered by the decision to remove Hyndman, while leaving Halliday on the park. He offered nothing - again - took too many touches and gave the crucial goal away. And by removing Waghorn, we lost one of the more potent players to keep their defence occupied. Windass offered nothing again, and we essentially also stopped playing the long balls to our strikers.

We could "thank" the Scum that they sent the Sheep home pointless, but man, that was hard to watch. Hearts are by far not that good and will sure lap that up as one of their greatest triumphs against us, no matter that they were playing the newly promoted team.

I for one would have the players see that game three times tomorrow, for a start.

Halliday has needed a spell out for about four months now.

  12. I don't think we can make long term decisions about a manager on a single game while we're still sitting second in the league and still looking good for a Euro spot.

Yes, that is true. Try and seal 2nd place and take it from there.

Something needs to change in the summer or we'd better get used to seeing more performances and results like tonight.

  13. We are being taught another football lesson, it's embarrassing, they are sharper, better passing and movement, everything we are not.

That Hearts side has no more quality than Rangers. They simply wanted it more. We looked utterly disinterested from start to finish. I just feel for the fans who forked out and turned up tonight.

I like Warburton, but he's simply not going to take us to the next level.

  14. I actually don't have anything against Jackson - there's far worse than him out there. But it does sometimes surprise me that half these guys are still in a job. Being in the publishing industry myself, I can say that the newspaper industry is dying on its arse. There's no way the likes of Jackson will be able to earn a living writing pish in newspapers all the way to retirement. In fact, when you look at the Record's circulation trends over the last, say, ten years, one wonders how the Daily Record is still a thing - do they have someone in the background playing loss-covering benefactor?
