  1. Kieran Dowell to sign for Rangers on three-year deal as Norwich free agent heads to Ibrox The 25-year-old is set to kick-start a pre-season revamp of Gers' squad as Michael Beale gets his man. dailyrecord (Image: Getty Images) Kieran Dowell has agreed to become Rangers boss Michael Beale's first summer signing. Mailsport understands the Norwich City midfielder will pen a three-year deal at Ibrox when his Carrow Road contract expires. The 25-year-old is set to kick-start a pre-season revamp of Gers' squad, following his ex-Canaries team-mate Todd Cantwell and Romanian midfielder Nico Raskin, who joined in January. Free agent Dowell has already met Beale and is keen to be part of a new-look Rangers next term. It's understood the former Everton youngster has already passed a medical ahead of moving to Glasgow. While at Goodison Park, he had loan spells at Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Derby and Wigan - before signing for Norwich in 2020. This season, Dowell has scored five goals in 26 appearances for the Championship side. Beale has also been linked with moves for Crystal Palace keeper Jack Butland and Swansea City winger Morgan Whittaker. He's been actively pursuing transfer targets after Ibrox sporting director Ross Wilson left for Nottingham Forest - and has managed to snare Dowell early.

  6. Poll: Marketing Project Poll Dear Contributor, Early this year, the Club 1872 Board presented the work done on the marketing side of the organisation to Contributors at our annual meeting (postponed from December 2022). We indicated to Contributors that we would seek your permission to build on this work and we are now doing so. Our legacy campaign was hugely successful in terms of income and brought significant funds into the organisation which allowed us to continue to purchase shares and maintain our position as a major shareholder in RIFC - even with further unexpected levels of investment by other shareholders during that period. We wish to build on that success and encourage more understanding amongst the Rangers support of the benefit of fan representation and a major shareholding in the club. The options for further share purchases, projects and potential further investment directly into Rangers as we engage with new RIFC Chairman, John Bennett, can be greatly enhanced through growing our Contributor base. We remain constrained by budget and have assessed during our work last year that additional project funding is required to allow us to grow interest in supporter representation and ownership. We have been able to identify target audiences and test various marketing strategies in the past year and now wish to build on that work with a targeted marketing campaign, which will be tracked and assessed as we move forward. We require Contributor approval for a project budget to be set aside to fund the delivery of that strategy. The budget required will be up to £21,000 and this will cover the purchase of digital marketing slots on social media including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. It will also cover the purchase of any professional services required to produce the digital marketing materials required for the campaign and marketing and social media support to ensure an "always on" campaign over six months. The Club 1872 Board has elected for a six month campaign so that we can assess the effectiveness after that time and update Contributors on whether the strategy is meeting its goals of growing the number of Club 1872 Contributors and increasing income. Contributors can expect to see significant improvement in our social media activity and engagement over this period. Following that, we will return to Contributors for approval for any further budgetary requirement. The funds used will come from the Club 1872 Projects CIC with the aim of advancing fan representation and share ownership for Rangers supporters. We believe that increasing the number of supporters who are part of Club 1872 would be of great benefit to the Rangers community and Rangers Football Club in the short, medium and longer term. The poll closes on Wednesday, 3rd May at midnight. Contributors can vote by logging into their Club 1872 account on the website and following the link to vote. Alternatively you can follow the Surveys link in the My Account area of the site. Club 1872

  13. It’s 15!! Below is the criteria that was required for a candidate to stand for election as as Club 1872 Board Director in the last Board elections which took place in May/June 2021. I can't confirm that the same criteria will be used in any future elections at this moment in time but I can't see it being any less that this. 'Candidates require 15 proposers to support their application. Candidates and proposers must be either life members or have been donating monthly contributors of Club 1872 for a continuous period of at least six months prior to the date of this notice. Candidates must be capable of being appointed as a director of a company.' Hope this helps. Regards Lilian Club 1872 Admin Assistant
  14. Daily Record Follow Who is Chris Willock? Rangers target with Arsene Wenger's Arsenal seal of approval offers Ryan Kent exit solution Story by Mark Pirie • 1h ago Who is Chris Willock? Rangers target with Arsene Wenger's Arsenal seal of approval offers Ryan Kent exit solution© PA Rangers bosss Michael Beale is set to raid his former club QPR for forward Chris Willock as he kickstarts his summer rebuild at Ibrox. The 25-year-old QPR star has made it clear to his boss and Loftus Road chiefs that he is keen to make the move to the Scottish Premiership to reunited with his former boss in Govan as he nears the end of his current contract. The English Championship side have an option to extend his contract by another year, but Record Sport understands Beale will be able to snap up Willock for a bargain fee this summer. The Rangers boss faces a jam-packed summer with a host of players set to leave the club as free agents, and Willock is rapidly moving up the summer wishlist after Beale's scouting mission to watching his former side during the draw with Norwich. Kieran Dowell has also been floated as target, with the midfield engine room set for a massive overhaul at the end of the campaign. But who is the latest name to be on the Rangers wishlist? Record Sport takes a look. Who is Chris Willock? The Arsenal academy graduate Willock was handed his first team shot by legendary boss Arsene Wenger and was tipped for big things as a teenager. Back in 2014 the Frenchman insisted the England youth cap was perfect for the Gunners. Wenger said back at the time: "Technically and tactically he integrated very well. Of course it's natural that he lacks a bit of power at that age but when he gets that he will be a very interesting player." At the time he was working under coach Neil Banfield - who is currently a part of Michael Beale's Rangers backroom team. Despite the lofty seal of approval, he would fail to make his breakthrough into the first team at the Emirates and left North London for Benfica in 2017. But, despite signing a five year deal in Lisbon, he struggled to make a top team breakthrough before returning to England two years later on loan deals with West Brom and Huddersfield. Related video: Arsenal defender BANNED from training, insight behind Graham Potter's sacking | Chris Wheatley Show (Dailymotion) Those performance would convince Mark Warburton to splash £750,000 to sign Willock on a permanent deal with QPR in 2020. Beale would then inherit the winger when he took charge at Loftus Road. What has Michael Beale said about him? It's safe to say he's a fan. During his brief stint at QPR Beale gave Willock top billing, stating: "Chris is one of the better players in the league. He has been excellent this year and scored some great goals coming back." Beale brought the best out of Willock during his four months at the club. Willock netted six goals in nine games to fire the club top of the table, before his season was derailed by a hamstring injury. What type of player is he? Willock has developed into a winger who dominates the left hand side of the park, and could be seen as a replacement for Ryan Kent as the Ibrox star nears the end of his contract. Willock appears to be one of the most technically sound players in he Championship this term. Willock is has one of the best passing accuracies in the league with over 78 per cent of his searching balls finding their teammates according to Wyscout. The 25-year-old is among the top crossers in the division whipping in 3.59 cross on average per 90 minutes with an accuracy of 28.99 per cent. His crossing accuracy ranks among the best in the league, only being kept off top spot by Burnley's Manuel Benson - who helped the side lift the league title. What can he offer that Ryan Kent doesn't? While Ryan Kent's scoring record and action inside the box has been criticised this season, Willock is more than a pass-master. He has takes on average three key touches in the penalty area, which has seen him rewarded with six goals so far this term. He is happy to take a man on - going into the second most offensive duals in the league with a 39 per cent rate of shrugging off his marker. He also boasts a 57.77 per cent success rate with his dribbles as he carries the ball forward. Willock is far from shot shy - as he tries his luck from the edge of the box and is happy to take the ball into the area. He has an xG of 3.58 when dribbling into the attacking third, taking 43 shots after 123 dribbles this term.

  18. Joint Statement - Club 1872, Union Bears and RSA Dear Contributor, The Union Bears, Club 1872 and the Rangers Supporters Association (RSA) have held a series of very constructive meetings over the past few weeks, sharing our experiences and concerns about the direction of the club over the last couple of years. We are all agreed on our wish for greater accountability, competence and transparency from the leadership of the club. We would like to welcome John Bennett to his new role as Chairman and express our hope that he will engage with supporters and make the required changes to ensure that his publicly articulated vision of a “best in class” Rangers will become a reality. It is our shared view that there is a lot of work to be done for that to be the case. For our own part, we all stand ready to engage constructively with Mr Bennett and share our perspectives with him. We hope that process will begin very shortly. We all want Rangers to thrive and succeed and we hope that constructive, open and honest dialogue will be a priority for the new Chairman. Club 1872

  21. Who apart from Dave King would have 1,250,000 shares to sell to Club1872?
  22. Club 1872 Share Purchase Dear Contributor, Club 1872 can today announce the purchase of 1,250,000 shares from a private seller at the price of 20p per share for a total of £250,000. This represents a 20% discount on the price that shares are currently being issued by the RIFC Board and takes Club 1872 back above 5% shareholding in RIFC. Although RIFC has held three small share issues already in this calendar year, and although we remain in the process of trying to organise a meeting with the RIFC Board, Club 1872 has not been asked to participate. We were also not aware of the existence of these share issues prior to the detail being posted on Companies House. We cannot therefore provide any information to Contributors or the wider support at this time on the purpose of this fund raising. In the absence of shares being on offer from RIFC, the Club 1872 Board has been working hard to find avenues to continue to grow our shareholding and fulfil the core purpose of Club 1872 Shares CIC. We would like to thank the private seller for their support of Club 1872 and their wish to see their shares remain in the hands of supporters. The Board would also like to once again thank our Contributors for their dedication to Club 1872, which allows us to remain a major shareholder in RIFC. We would encourage all Rangers supporters to join Club 1872 in order to retain a crucial, major shareholder voice in the club we all love. Club 1872
