  1. The following players from the under 20's squad have been released.

Amin Abaradan, Max Ashmore, Josh Jeffries, Jordan Gibson, Sam Jamieson and Jack Adamson.

    Under 16's released

    Lewis McGrattan and Aidan Gibb

With three under 17's games left to play there may be some 17's and 16's to join that list.

  2. Yes but they will be fit and ready in time for next year its not as much as a career ender as it was 30 years ago pretty sure Whittaker had injuries to and Steven Naismith had two broken legs but fans still want them back

Pedro is under pressure to show a quick signs of improvement.

He is not going to have two of his main signings unavailable for pre season training with a hope they will be available in October.

It's unlikely these two players will move clubs until they are back playing and have proven their fitness.

  3. Matej Hradacky currently out with a ruptured cruciate hasn't played a game in 2017

Callum Paterson currently out with a ruptured cruciate hasn't played a game in 2017

With a very limited budget signing players who won't be back from serious injury until the season is a couple of months old would be a poor use of resources.

  4. Today is the YOuth Cup Final, is it not? Will that be screened too anywhere?

It is the SFA Youtube channel

Going to be a difficult night for the youngsters, with Raith playing Hibs tonight, neither Ryan Hardie or Jordan Thompson will play therefore the Rangers starting lineup with all be under 19 or younger. Only 1997 in the squad will be Amin Abaradan an he is unlikely to start.

  5. Unfortunately Celtic were more comfortable on the ball and looked better for most of the game. I don't know the age difference but most of our players looked far younger. The coloured boy that came on as sub looked quite good.

Celtic's starting 11 were all 2000's and pretty much their full strength team. Just noticed their keeper is a 2001.

Rangers started with four 2001's, who can play next year (well three of them will be there), we were without to likely starters in Jack Thomson and Rhys Breen.

  6. Actually, the twitter account spoke of an incient in the Celtic area, where we claimed for a penalty? Or is this the same thing?

    EDIT:

33' The Rangers players calling for a penalty as Krones goes down in the box attacking a corner. The ref waves their protests away. 3-0

Don't recall any decent shout for a penalty in our rare forays forward, Celtic's claim was a stonewaller.

  7. Wonder what the Celtic team is - whether it is a strong team or younger like ours seems to be ? I know that over the years Celtic have put more emphasis on winning these OF Academy games than we have - we put more emphasis on development, which shows in the age of our players that are playing.

Wonder why Gilmour can only make the bench.

Elfideldo will have all the answers undoubtedly :D

Not too much of a difference, they were on average around 6 months older.

Sinky put an emphasis on winning and was frequently cancelling games. Mulholland less so and for most of the season the 17's have been missing 3 or 4 players.

With a chance of winning the 17's and the prize that brings (entry into the Champions Youth League), the likes of Gilmour, Rudden, Thomson and Houston have dropped back to play 17's in recent weeks. Although Houston and Rudden played today. Jordan must be a doubt for Glasgow Cup Final as he was substitued and looked badly concussed.

  8. I thought Bates did well. Beerman was bullied by Sammon and struggled defensively but looked good when going forward.

Kinda ties in with what I said about Myles in my earlier post.

"Beerman is a good prospect, this may be a bit soon for him, he is a converted winger and therefore better going forward. He has only just turned 18 and is a bit lightweight, I believe he is on a programme to build him up physically."

  9. What's your thoughts now after seeing them play tonight?

I have seen most of the under 20 games they have played in, so not just tonight. I thought they both did okay against a Killie team that never looked like scoring. Beerman had a couple of good forward runs.

Don't know if Bates is highly rated at Auchenhowie but it has been said the club a number of times that the likes of 19 year olds Ryan Hardie and Jordan Thompson along with 18 year old Ross McCrorie need to go on loan as the Under 20 league doesn't develop them. We then sign an overage player to play in the 20's league, a contradiction there.

He wasn't that highly rated at Raith, otherwise he would have been in their team at the start of this season, they obviously felt they had better players.

  10. Be interesting to hear what elfideldo has to say on Beerman & Bates!

Bates is a strange one, a player that couldn't get in the Raith team at the beginning of this season. He has been average at best for the 20's (and he is an overage player), his best game was away to Hibs when he played at right back. In my opinion Ross McCrorie and Aidan Wilson are better long term prospects. Ross is on loan at Dumbarton and I believe Aidan may be on the bench tonight, although Aidan's last two 20's games haven't been his best.

Beerman is a good prospect, this may be a bit soon for him, he is a converted winger and therefore better going forward. He has only just turned 18 and is a bit lightweight, I believe he is on a programme to build him up physically.

Hopefully both will do well tonight.
