  1. Report on tonight's 14's game against US touring side https://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2015/03/24/14s-welcome-american-tourists/
  2. When are the boycotters returning to help finances. There was lots of talk of seven sell outs after the EGM, so far the crowds had failed to return.
  3. Greg Kiltie is one of three players in that Killie side, all of who are Under 18, that Sinclair released because there were "too wee", Sam Liddington and Greg Taylor being the other two. I agree that playing in different positions is part of development, but when it last a season it goes beyond that. The facts are also clear, he played in that position because this squad has ONE naturally left-footed player (Jamie Mills), who has just returned from a year out with injury.
  4. Considering he play most of last season at LEFT-BACK, playing right midfield at least has him on the right side of the pitch.
  5. Kilmarnock used NINE players under 18, I would call that a young team.
  6. There are plenty scouts at youth level. Andy Kirk has been there a while, his son McKenzie plays for one of the younger teams. Malky Thomson was back briefly last season, he is a good coach, the players and parents like him. I haven't seen Gardner Spiers so far. Don't think it would have much to do with the old board, probably more to do with the autonomy that Craig Mulholland was allowed and the changes are down to him
  7. I was there and did a report on the game, you will probably be able to read a very similar report on the official site soon. https://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2015/03/18/all-square-at-rugby-park/
  8. He may only have been there for two games, but Boyd up front on his own for seventy minutes at home to Alloa has to raise questions. On a more positive note anyone that follows my youth posts will know I have banged on about Tom Walsh and Ryan Sinnamon for some time, one is now in the team and the other almost came on last night.
  9. Having played at left-back most of last season he must have got sick of it and spoke up as it changed from the beginning of this season, so it wasn't changed by Durrant. That meant some other right footed player was stuck out at left-back, in a lot of occassions that was Ross McCrorie, a 16 year old right footed centre back. The good news is that the ONE left footed player in the under 20's squad, Jamie Mills has returned after almost a year out injured and he has filled the left back slot in the past 4 or 5 games.

  15. Can't really comment on the Under 20's as most of their games have been midweek afternoons. I did get to their game last week and they were well beaten by Hibs, mainly due ti their inability to defend set plays. They did have a very good result away to an Aberdeen side that are joint top, but I wasn't at that game. I have now seen a few younger age games and there has been a definte change of style.

  20. I wouldn't have thought so but the honest answer is I don't know.
  21. Sinky has gone I guess its the highly rated 2004 - supposedly from a Rangers supporting background - I guessed that would be where he would go when he left Rangers I would rather he stayed at Rangers but to put it into perspective he is 10 years old . And will he be any happier there ? Is it actually the boy who was unhappy ? I very much doubt it. It is a bit ironic he left just after we got shot of Sinclair.
  22. Youth football out of the deep freeze, report on tonight's 14's game https://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2015/02/11/youngsters-emerge-from-deep-freeze/
  23. I'm fine thanks Last few U20 games have been moved to Murray Park and afternoon kick-offs due to the weather, so I have been stuck at work. Younger age groups are stuck in a deep freeze. Hopefully a bit of respite for the weekend and I can get to a game.
  24. He divides opinion, some see him as a breath of fresh air others as a bit of a crackpot. He must be doing something right to be where he is. I believe he started coaching at 16 and Craig Levein took him on at Dundee Utd after his team outplayed and showed better technique than the United kids they played against. Levein then took him on at the SFA when he was Scotland manager. I have only seen his United team twice and although they always tried to play a passing game and completely refused to kick the ball up the park despite losing both games by a few goals. At one of the games his behaviour on the touchline was a touch bizarre. Below is a link to his coaching programme he sells to boys clubs. http://www.boxsoccertraining.co.uk/
  25. The question that should be asked is Was he dropped for a poor performance against Hibs or was it because he was the only one who hit Ally's arse with a shot. He has said the coach didnae like him, although he did go halfway around the world twice to watch him and still signed him.
