  1. Young 17′s Draw With Hearts Report on tonight's game http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/05/21/young-17s-draw-with-hearts/
  2. Charlie signed a one year contract.
  3. Hi Craig, the Rangers pro youth teams don't play in the tournament, but the Supporters Association Boys Club teams usually do. It is a good standard tournament and of course Rangers scouts will be watching. I know current U15 player Lewis White who goes full time at the start of next season was scouted there playing for Musselburgh Windsor two years ago. I'll try and get along again this year, but at the end of July the Rangers teams will be playing pre season games.
  4. I would put Gasparotto ahead of him for that position, probably at this stage McAusland too, as he has a bit more experience, but he is a player I would have hoped to have kept
  5. Kyle McAusland appears to have done well playing twenty games at Ayr United, I know he missed a few games through injury. Not sure if he played full-back or centre-back, he always looked more comfortable in the centre. Callum Gallagher made an initial impact at Alloa before fall out of the picture, he started five games and came on as a sub in four. Gregor Fotheringham only made three appearances for Forfar, I'm sure he already knew his contract was not getting renewed when he went there on loan. Stuart Urquhart had a short loan at Dumbarton did well in three games then got injured, when it became clear he wasn't signing a new contract Rangers seem to lose interest in him by all accounts.

  7. Glossy turned down a new contract and has been released.Stuart Urquhart has also turned down a new contract, I guess we want a development fee for him.

  14. Report on today's U14's game http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/04/28/comfortable-win-for-14sa/
  15. Having seen a lot of all three of them, Luca and Danny are players for the future and its very important that they have competitive football next season. I'm sure they will feature in the 1st team in spells, but they need competitive games when they are not in the 1st team. I don't think Andy Mitchell is good enough and we should be able to pick out a better out of contract player in the Sumer.
  16. Played as an Under 17 fixture http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/04/24/17s-hit-double-figures/
  17. Report on tonight's Reserve League Cup tie, which was played as an under 17 fixture. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/04/24/17s-hit-double-figures/
  18. A round up of this weekend's youth games. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/04/21/weekend-youth-round-up/
  19. Pretty even in my opinion, as was reflected in the 2-2 draw in the group game. Not sure if either Tom Walsh or Scott Roberts will be fit for this game, it would be a big blow to our midfield if either or both were out. Dylan Dykes was also injured but I believe he played against Hamilton Accies last Friday. Bizarrely that is the only game Rangers and Celtic have met at any level this season, all development games have been cancelled so far and they don't intend to play the remaining group game against them.
  20. Two excellent prospects. There are a few at U18 & U17. Luca Gasporotto is 17 and played most of the reserve games this season and done really well, 1st team call up could have come before now. Confidence possibly took a hit after losing 5-1 to Killie in the youth cup. I'm sure he will feature at some point in the last three games. Its maybe come a wee bit early for Danny Stoney, he is still under 17. Got bags of confidence, best position is probably off the main striker, but he has played wide left a lot this season and on occasions as the main striker. Great ability to create and take chances.

  23. 15′s Grab Late Winner Report on todays friendly http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/04/06/15s-grab-late-winner/ Got details of squads and scorers from Newcastle trip, i'll do a post on the blog when I get more details of todays Liverpool trip. U9's won 5-4 U10's won 10-1 and 5-3 and lost 5-4 and 6-4 U11's won 7-1 and 5-1 drew 3-3 and lost 4-2 From the scores it looks like Liverpool had a strong and weak side, Rangers try to balance both teams.
  24. Personally I think you have to look at it pre-Sinclair and since he came in separately. All players that have progressed to the first team were either there before he came or joined Rangers as full-time professionals (Aird, McKay, Hemmings, Hegarty for example) and therefore were developed elsewhere. His record in buying 13 - 15 year olds that don't then progress to pro-youth contracts is shocking, the latest couple only lasted ONE year at the club. Add to that the dozen or so players he has released that then go on to represent Scotland at youth level in the past year, its not difficult to put a case that questions his competence. He took over what was the best in the country and we have regressed year on year under his stewardship.
  25. A couple of interesting things I took from this. I was surprised how many are still at the same club or have moved on to bigger things. I have mentioned a few times that Falkirk have a good setup, it is interesting they took players released by bigger clubs and turned them into first team players.
