  1. We might have a better idea if anyone was actually allowed in. We will have to wait until a game is arranged is some far flung place before we are allowed to see the fringe players. I remember when your season ticket got you into reserve games. Since the start of this season all bounce games involving fringe players, wether there are trialists playing or not, have been deemed closed doors, not even parents of the players are allowed in. I tend not to go to many of these games but a handful of others ( and players parents) do. Considering I could watch these players at Corby, Fleetwood, New St.Mirren Park and Hamburg I think it is pretty pathetic.
  2. Not a lot happening with the youths, a wee update on Turkey trip and a couple of players that have moved on. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2012/01/09/youth-update-4/
  3. Sam started last season well but then broke his collar bone, and done it again after starting back training. A hernia operation meant he missed the start of this season and struggled to make an impact in the youth team. His father and grandfather travelled up from Manchester on a regular basis to watch him play even in friendlies. I hope Sam can kick on at Doncaster and make a career in the game.
  4. A wee article about two players not normally associated with Rangers. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2011/12/15/he-played-wae-rangers/

  7. Pretty much been injured most of his Rangers career. He looked the part when he first came and played in the youth cup final, has been injured pretty much since, played 2 pre-season games last season and went off injured in both then didn't appear again until april. His contract was up in the summer and was given a 6 month deal to prove his fitness, that is why his contract is up for renewal. Hopefully he can get his career back on track from here.

  13. Charlie is excellent, not suprised he was picked out by Wotte as he is a real football player. Different people see things differently, Charlie isn't the biggest and quite slight and hasn't been one of Sinclairs favourites. He wasn't quoted under the old Scotland regime (Ross Mathie) then when Ricky Sbragia came in Charlie was selected and played in every game in the recent qualifiers. Really pleased to see it and hopefully we will see him blossom from here on. Here are my comments on the 2nd year profiles from the blog this was before the season started and before the change in the Scotland regime and Charlie's call-up. Charlie Telfer:- Midfield Nationality:- Scotland DOB:- 04/07/1995 A skillful and creative midfielder Charlie should be a regular at 17′s this season, although not the biggest physically he coped well last season. A regular starting slot should enable him to continue his progress.
  14. I wonder where they got that report from ? http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2011/11/15/easy-glasgow-cup-win-for-17s/ Not that I mind
  15. The youth department has a budget, he is head of youth, he decides how that budget is spent. Jamie has impressed when I have seen him, he was physically too strong for the Clyde defenders tonight. 2nd goal was special, great touch and turn, power to hold off the defender and a cool finish.
  16. Sinclair is Head Of Youth he is supposed to the advisor Report on tonight's Glasgow Cup Game http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2011/11/15/easy-glasgow-cup-win-for-17s/
  17. Pretty poor stuff yesterday, I did give “chilledbear” a bit of advanced warning that it could happen. This is a Dundee United side that have lost 5-0, 4-0, 3-0 & 5-2 to Celtic, Aberdeen, Hibs & St.Mirren respectively. I have followed youth football for long enough to realise that results to a certain extent don’t matter, but if you are consistently not winning games it is obvious the raw materials are unlikely to there. When Jimmy Sinclair arrived there was an U13’s &U14’s squad just like there is today. These squads should have been the basis of yesterday’s team, only THREE of the starting 11 were at the club then. What happened to the development of these squads ? He brought in four players released from EPL squads over the summer, at significant expense I’m sure. Yet only ONE of them was deemed good enough to start yesterday, none of them has shown to be better then players he released and now playing at other Scottish clubs. A significant amount was spent bringing in players for U15’s who lost to Hearts yesterday (2-1), that makes it at least four losses already this season, Killie (3-0), Hibs (3-1) & Celtic (7-0). The HOY at one of the clubs we recruited from told me when he heard Rangers were interested in a player from their side “I had six guesses before I got the right one”. This is the squad that should be the basis of the youth team in 3/4 years. Only one player who has arrived at the club under his tenure has appeared in the first team, Kane Hemmings. Quite a few he “bought” have since left and look for a few more "purchases" leaving in January. The question is, could there be “other” departures before them ? It is obvious something isn’t working.
