  1. In my dreams, I have a wish; An end to all this total pish.
  2. He was mate, and to his credit he just explained to me that this is what he was told. For the record, it's complete nonsense and the Trust has not seen Ellis' business plan in any form (including the one which seemingly covers two sides of A4 and was delivered to the Neptune by special courier ). I've no idea why people would invent such lies, has anybody got any theories?
  3. Frankie, I don't know what's lies and what's not, so I don't know how I can be expected to get involved. You're stating here that somebody has told a lie and you've even worked out what the motive is! You are waaaaay ahead of me here, really. All I did was say in a post that there was nonsense posted about Ellis' document by rbr (and now repeated by BdTS) and now we're talking about Mark Dingwall telling lies, somebody's stockbroker, the downsides of FF and posters using more than one forum!
  4. I've stated my case: Donald Muir is/was there on behalf of either Murray and/or Lloyds - not Rangers. If you really think I only speak on the basis of my "interests" and I can't think independently, I'll leave you to it mate.
  5. You'd have to ask Mark about all that mate, not my business.
  6. I agree. Although, there is also a dilemma therein. It's easy to back no horses for fear of losing just because situations are fluid but sometimes it's OK to back the horse you favour.
  7. I'm sure you know this already Barry but just to be clear, I'm not sniping at any forum or organisation. I was simply saying that I cannot get my head round any Rangers fan promoting Donald Muir.
  8. No, but Mr. Dingwall did. Basically because it was a load of made-up pish which rbr misguidedly believed. But to be fair, he said he posted it in good faith so we move on. Well, we did move on until BdTS turns up here and starts it up again!
  9. Donald Muir is a top-notch, expert troubleshooter who parachutes into businesses armed with an axe. But going to the bother of promoting his case, offering plaudits ("the best Chief Executive Rangers never had") and suggesting he's owed an apology - when you'd be hard pressed to find any Rangers fan who gives a shit about the guy - is truly baffling. What kind of priorities do people have, spending their time speaking up for Donald Muir? * the question's not to you Frankie, I know you didn't write any of the fawning articles *
  10. More importantly, lets hope he doesn't have ideas which are bad for the club, like the current owner did.
  11. It would leave the RST (and all supporters who are interested in much better supporter involvement / partnership / ownership, call it what you will) in a similar position to it is now albeit with an opportunity to build a new and hopefully more constructive relationship than proved possible with the previous owner. So of course, it would seek to 'engage' and Ellis is already very aware of that. Can't hope to find out what a lot of people want to know via the likes of the probing little probe Chick Young. If he doesn't choose to engage directly with the RST initially then, as part of the Assembly the Trust would hope to be involved in any 'engagement'. Time will tell if it is relevant or has any effect either way.
  12. A few people doing it whether its the case or not For example, people in responsible positions leaking information to other people saying a deal has been done, 100% and all that.
  13. I know you never asked me but in all seriousness, I still have significant doubts about this happening.
  14. It's certainly a very wide-ranging "memo" with a bizarre list of content for a "memo" Sounds more like a story given to someone for some reason or other.
  15. I tend to think of it as "recall", but your input is perfectly acceptable
  16. Sorry, was being lazy there. I was referring to the unjustified angle in the story as if KL's 'challenge' was some kind of cataclysmic event which triggered changes to the laws of the game. I don't see it as a "horror tackle". What happened to the victim of said tackle?
  17. I like it when AJ does that too but I genuinely think when he says "Murray" he usually means the Murray Group, rather than the minted megalomaniac as an individual. He said it a few times at the AGM iirc and has been doing the same for a few months now. Just IMHO.
  18. What a hilarious appointment these two would be! I know we're in no position to laugh but I'll make an exception for those of the "legendary scouse wit"
  19. Someone who knows Murray very well told me a few months ago that he wasn't necessarily sure Murray wanted to sell Rangers. It was a comment which left me stunned but I swear it's absolutly true. The guy is a megalomaniac and it was less than a year ago that he wandered onto the Ibrox turf to milk the applause one (last?) time, a month before the already-nailed-own plan for Alastair Johnston to take-over was revelead, along with Donald Muir and his favourite suffocating pillow. One thing we can be sure of, is that if/when this Ellis deal is done, Murray will be all over it like a tramp on chips, directly or indirectly. Seeing as I've not said much on here lately, can I also just say that were it not for a handful of posters saying the deal is 100% done, I would still be pretty sceptical of it even happening, particularly this weekend or imminently. I say that, despite acknowledging that there does seem to be more activity lately on the Ellis side than there's been for quite a long time (if not, ever).
  20. Hello! Now that the thread has regained its sanity I thought I'd chip in. That's a very interesting post there Calscot, some of which makes sense - some of which doesn't (at least in my eyes anyway). Firstly, I agree that the price for the club is probably very low. Maybe not as low as it was a few months ago, but low all the same. However the club itself, has no particularly exciting intrinsic value from a financial point of view. Murray Park, maybe. Ibrox Stadium ....well I suppose if its valued as it is on Rangers/MIH's books then yes, but its book value is not its actual value. There is nothing that can realistically be done with it unless you wish to be chased out of the country. The car park....? When you add in Rangers' historic fixation with losing money (and as you rightly point out, the future lottery which is the CL qualifications route), really you are buying something which - as it stands - may realistically lose you money every year if you're unlucky or perhaps break-even. Andrew Ellis, from what I can gather is no egomaniac. His UK profile before March was non-existant, never mind in Scotland. By all accounts, nor is he a multi-millionnaire. Celebrity in Scotland might be nice for some but really, it's small fry compared to the bright lights of London which is why most of the quality traffic flies south. What he is, is a guy who sees that he can get a turn by borrowing money to buy Rangers, with an as yet unknown property angle. I think we'd all be stunned if his medium-term goal wasn't to repay his finance either by selling his stake at a profit in the future, taking profits as he goes, or a combination of both. That's what he's here for, not for the ride. I state that as fact of course, but seeing as everyone is so twitchy these days and we all have to prove everything we're saying perhaps I'll downgrade it to a strong opinion. Now, talking of property I just can't see this 'uplifting metropolis' (yes i know you never called it that!) on the banks of the Clyde you imagine. I can't see the available land being connected to Rangers. And if it was, we are talking about major, major sums of money for riverside generation in a period where you'd struggle to see a crane which isn't working on a motorway within many miles of Glasgow. It just doesn't make sense. Having said that, I obviously don't know what the property angle is but I would suspect its something much more modest (although not necessarily trivial). To be honest, I don't fear the asset-stripping potential. I just think the world's too wise to that kind of thing now and the scrutiny any new owner would be under at Rangers would be unbearable for most, if that's his plan. What I do fear is the possibility that his primary concern is getting Rangers as a lever to get something else. Unless someone has worked out how to get us into the CL most years, been briefed on and decided to do all the things we should have done in and around the stadium profitibly, and seeing as we've outsourced or sold almost eveything we ever used to own, it would seem that most potential gains are on the periphery of the actual club itself. Whether money-making facilities are put in place for happy shoppers or Rangers supporters remains to be seen; as does the identity of the ultimate beneficiaries of such said schemes (they may or may not be Rangers). If Ellis buys the club, I'd have no doubt that he will be successful, that he'll make his money and he'll sell when he chooses. Anyone who takes this long and spends this much money in these times, is going to be 'sure' I'd say. What happens to Rangers as a club and as a football team is our main concern though and considering his sidekick Mr Gilmour only alerted him to the Rangers situation shortly before he set up his holdings company in Guernsey at the tail end of January, I think it's fair enough to have eyebrows raised as we wait and wonder what is going on. If he's managed to get plans nodded through to regenerate vast areas of land from Ibrox to the Clyde without any formal notification or even leaks coming from the Club or GCC or anywhere else in a period of 4 months though (and these things are also to the overall and long-term benefit of both him and Rangers), the guy clearly has the midas touch so fair play to him and God speed! If he buys the club, I know what he'll say his priorities are, and I look forward to listening and the opportunity for us to ask questions. But I do honestly wonder how he's going to generate enough upside to feed more than one hungry mouth. I just keep wondering where the balance might be between Rangers FC and making money for Andrew Ellis and his mystery backers - and I must confess I feel a little uneasy. Calscot, you'll appreciate I can't forensically defend my unease beyond my feeling of unease, just as you can't defend your optimism any more than you have. So I'm just getting it out there for the sake of discussion. * all this assuming of course, that he takes over *
