  1. He would be fine in a 4-5-1/4-3-3 if we actually played the formation the way it should be. Didier Drogba would have struggled yesterday
  2. Both the team and manager are vastly superior to what we have. And the more pathetic thing is their team and manager are rubbish too.
  3. Ness has been dropped as I told you was the case. The reason is Walter is a clueless baffoon
  4. We've got about as much chance of winning this league as Maurice Edu has of being shortlisted for the Balloon D'or
  5. I hate to say I told you so Smith is every bit as incompetent as Murray

I find it hard to agree with a single thing you say. During 9 in a row, we did not play total football by any means but we did play with style due to the ability of the players. Then when we had Ronald De Boer, Arteta, Lovenkrands et al, again we played with style a lot then. Under Advocaat we played not far off total football often, even against Europe's elite. I said while things were going well under Smith not so long ago that winning is not everything, performance is crucial too. Why? Not only because nobody wishes to watch horrible football but because in the long term the best performing teams win. To come back to my original post, until the end of season 2002/03 we spent the vast majority of my lifetime with a hell of a lot more style than now.

I think I was giving Walter Smith too much credit. I previously considered him an average, limited manager. Now I think he's grossly incompetent and simply dreadful. Neil Lennon is a vastly superior manager and he's not even any good. Celtic are 10 times the team we are and again, they are not particularly good either. That Everton article is probably the most accurate and insightful piece I have ever seen. The entire management setup at Ibrox should leave immediately because there is not one bit of ability amongst them. If Walter Smith never got a load of money at Rangers he'd probably be managing St Mirren just now. Craig Brown is probably a much better manager
  8. What does he see? Not very much, evidently.

eh? They passed us off the park. We dish out just as many dirty challenges as them

"Dacourt looked class but pulled the ultimate mercenary stunt in the end." Where does it say Smith tried to sell/approved the sale of Dacourt? As for formations, I don't really get your line of thought. Yes managers can pick whatever formation they want but they are not immune from criticism and Walter deserves plenty. Face facts, this article hits the nail on the head and no pedantic retorts will change that. And I don't dislike Smith, I appreciate what he has done. Like the article says, he has plenty dignity and values but he's a mediocre manager. In fact that;s maybe being kind after Thursdays debacle.

What's inaccurate about the article? It's a bit close to the bone I think
  12. is a horrific journeyman that's been in the right place right time with regard to success at this club. Discuss. I never thought thought as a follower of the beautiful game that my own beloved club would become a team of fucking hammer throwers/ IT's not even just that. IT's how bloody arrogant and stupid he is? Everybody knows Lafferty is a horrific finisher and playing him has probably cost us progression Every year this website rings more and mroe true http://www.toffeeweb.com/club/managers/Smith.asp
  13. The manager doesn't like when we sit back? Strange words from someone who knows nothing more than such a neanderthal tactic. He doesn't like it because it finally bit him in the arse more like.
  14. Wouldn't have too many problems with that team other than Davis and Edu. Hutton and Ness should be starting every game regardless of age as if they are not better than that pair then they should give up playing football. But I would take this lineup just now, simply because it is a logical formation and we all know Walter likes to tinker in the illogical to disastrous effect again and again. That XI is miles better than the mhanks. The only question is if we play such a formation, will it become the 4-3-3 when in possession that Naismith, Diouf and Jelavic are perfectly suited for?
  15. After last night I'd forgive him for wanting back to England ASAP but as I said last night he's probably quite used to playing in horrific long ball sides though not as bad as us.
  16. If we'd drawn someone like Napoli or Stuttgart, ie pretty decent technical sides, we'd have been hammered last night.
  17. Dictatorships can be successful. IT's more swapping one dodgy selfish bastart for another I don't want. IT doesn't look very good that we have a criminal in the board room and our owner is also constantly in tax problems
  18. That's why we should, but no doubt don't, have a fee set at the end of the loan contract to sign him should both Rangers and Diouf agree terms. Diouf wouldn't cost a lot of money just now. In a few months if he plays very well and there's some interest down south, his value will increase massively.
  19. #Do I have to go and list decent managers that have gone to small clubs with less resources than us if anything?
  20. They'll soon fly up the table. Is Garry Wood any good for them? He's a friend
  21. I was talking about the Champions league, the competition this topic is about. And prior to tonight (when I posted the comment) they looked good
  22. After the shite that we've had to watch over much of the last 10 years you can hardly say Gers fans are hard to please. I hardly ever go to Ibrox any more because I refuse to watch such awful football.
