  1. I can assure you I am...I had thousands of posts on FF.
  2. I wouldn't get rid of Davis and Mendes. I think they're being brought down by poor team mates. Miller, definitely, never wanted him in the first place. McCulloch I'd personally pay to see removed from the club and there's little point in keeping Beasley if he's never going to feature. Whittaker blows hot and cold but in an attacking sense is one of our more creative players. Lafferty? Well the slight problem there is I don't think many clubs would want him and we'd struggle to recoup half of what we paid. Being played out of position out on the left doesn't help (thanks Walter) but he just doesn't look a good player at all. The money spent on players like Lafferty, Miller, McCulloch etc could have signed some really good players or stayed in the bank to avoid this situation.
  3. Not good news. In our darkest hour, a 17 year old strolling into the central defence with all the confidence of a Baresi or Maldini gives some sort of optimism. He hasn't put a foot wrong. These types of stories are to be expected though. We've effectively told everyone that all our players are up for sale so its going to attract lots of derisory offers which hopefully wont be accepted (dependent on the player).
  4. Put it this way, McGregor in recent seasons has left me with my head in my hands all too often. PS - Thanks for the welcomes.
  5. 'It wiznae us' only lasts so long. I pay little attention to the media and there isn't any paper I regularly read. I call it as I see it. BTW - Who orchestrated this whole mad conspiracy? Osama Bin Laden?
  6. Getting pissed a few nights before a big match is ridiculous. We are a nation producing sod all talent and the booze culture is a major factor. If Charlie Miller was born in a foreign country he'd probably have turned out to be a top player. Footballers just shouldn't binge drink.
  7. Even if it was switched off, it doesn't excuse the voilence. I was ashamed at those sights. I'd rather just put it behind us and move on.
  8. McGregor's still made quite a few bad errors this season and you can't afford to have an unpredictable goalie. Lets not forget Unirea at home either...
  9. There is if you're a highly paid athlete
  10. Given the amount of calamities he's made in his career, it's hard for people not to talk about his errors. He makes more mistakes in a game than Klos did in a year.
  11. It's exactly that type of attitude which typifies this nation. You might also want to note the words, 'in this day and age'. Football is a lot faster and physically demanding than it used to be.
  12. For almost 20 years the SPL's been a gash league with 1 or 2 good teams. Now its a gash league with no good teams. Not that much has changed. The standard of Scottish players seems to have declined though. The current Scotland squad is awful. How many Scottish players are really that good? Fletcher and Gordon and that's about it? Maybe Danny Wilson if he keeps on the track he's on.
  13. only way it would happen is if sky push it. I think there's too much logistical problems for us to move leagues any time soon, even if the SPL is killing us. I think Scottish football needs someone with some intelligence who can somehow make it marketable. The phrase polishing a turd comes to mind though. Also, if 14 chairman voted against, does this mean 6 voted in favour? Or did some of them just not vote or something? Because if 6 voted in favour, that means we're not far off having the support of half the clubs. But I don't think thats the case... The old firm would be a big benefit to the EPL though. The general standard seems to be declining there. There's essentially 4 or 5 strong sides then a couple of pretty good ones, then the rest are pretty poor. Man Utd and Liverpool aren't the sides they were either IMO but Chelsea and Arsenal are looking very good this season. The old firm are probably even worse than Wigan etc but they are still massive clubs and adding them would suddenly see the premiership gain 2 of the biggest clubs in Britain/Europe. Within a couple of years debts would be cleared and there would be massive potential for signing world class players and competing well in the top half.
  14. Hello, first time post. Just wanted to say on this matter, it's not really the V finger salute that annoys me. More the fact that in this day and age football players would be binge drinking so close to important matches. Scottish football and probably British in general is held back by poor dieting and drinking. Would Arsene Wenger allow his players to go out heavily drinking? I doubt it. Cesc Fabregas and Eduardo and co would spend their spare time maximising their fitness and looking after themselves. What's worrying from a Scottish perspective too is that apparently half the squad took part in this drinking session, yet just McGregor and Ferguson were punished. I possibly don't know the full story but I don't see why the others weren't given the same punishment. The v thing was then just the icing on the cake. After going against their managers wishes and drinking heavily near a big game, they then showed poor attitude. It says it all that the whole drinking thing seems to be incidental in this matter. If I were boss of football team I'd banish players from all alcohol other than maybe the odd social beer. And if they weren't happy then hard luck. I bet Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi don't go out and get pished at the weekends. The 9 in a row team infamously drank fairly heavily together, maybe if they didn't then they wouldn't have got given the run around in Europe so much. To be honest, I don't think McGregor should be allowed back and it's debatable how good a keeper he really is. He's capable of some top saves but barely a week seems to go by without him making some sort of error. If it wasn't for his excellent performance away to Unirea, would we even be having this conversation? Having grown up watching Goram and later Klos putting in world class performances, the last few years have been a culture shock.
