  1. "The Police have never had a problem with Friday afternoon games"...LOL no shit.
  2. O_O In saying that, at least you're sticking to your guns...I've never seen such a hated former player suddenly be seen as a hero again so quickly.
  3. At least Trapattoni has clearly learned how to speak fluent Irish. Btw, playing people with limited ties to Scotland is one thing. Playing Scottish players with questionable interest of playing for us is another. You should be proud to play for the nation you were born in. And do we even need him? He wouldn't get a game. We have plenty creative midfielders at the moment. If it was a player of Barry Ferguson level I would push the boat out but don't see the point selling ourselves out for a player unlikely to be significant.
  4. Fair enough. I just think there's nothing to learn in Scottish football outside the old firm.
  5. All Walter will do is defend and hope for a lucky goal so yeah lets hope thats enough...again. One key problem is we don't just need luck this time round, we actually need to learn to defend too.
  6. Yes we could end up with another Boyd/Miller/Wilson. Calscot - Papac's form has not been great but lets not forget he was faultless in the earlier part of the season, good in Europe too. I wouldn't want to get rid of one of the few players we have capable of performing to a high standard against anyone. Replacing a player who has done well for years would be a very risky move considering the amount of atrocious players we've seen in the wide areas at Ibrox in recent years. His replacement would probably be Ricky Foster. Papac has not been great recently but neither has anyone really.
  7. Would rather we sent our youngsters to the English lower divisions, no matter how low a league.
  8. Jelavic can't play as far as I'm aware. Diouf I will give you but is he definitely allowed to play? Weiss probably won't play, rarely does in big games. He's very inconsistent, not helped by his manager. Edu and Davis are rubbish. Naismith though certainly.
  9. Bardsleys been one of the best defenders in England this season, dream on. Any player who performs in the premiership is immediately worth £8m +
  10. I never thought Walter plans more advanced than day by day. Given how small a duration we hang on to players of any quality, I don't read much into this.
  11. That's brutal. Diouf has 100% accuracy too which shows his quality, particularly considering he would be making more ambitious passes as a creative attacker.
  12. Lennons said its best if people do their talking on the park, yet in the same article he started going off on one. More double standards from Clarification FC. And who is he to have a go at Diouf during a match, since when was that allowed.
  13. Ness signed a 2 year extension I believe, should have been offered more than that. At least in the summer if he does attract interest we SHOULD be in a position to do the hard sale. Sadly, there's every chance he could leave soon.
  14. We have about 5 youngsters who look very promising and should be used much more frequently, aside from Ness who is getting a good amount of action. That gives me some hope. I would have them all featuring very regularly. Why Hutton gets no game time now God only knows. Even 20 mins as a sub against a shit team will give him the confidence to develop. I think you make a valid point though. We could do with more < 26/27 year olds
  15. Edu is proven to be shit in midfield, Bougherra is yet to have a chance. Ball playing centre backs can often make good holding midfielders.
  16. More like the new Egil Ostenstad Surely the only thing up for debate about Lafferty is whether he's mediocre or awful.
  17. You based it on my username, as we were just discussing...?
  18. Danny - Edu is shit and Ness isn't a holding midfielder. I'm not sure what Edu is. I think he should have taken up another sport because he's in the wrong one.
  19. Simple question, do you think it would work? It's something I'd be willing to try if we had more options in central defence. At times he's the most creative player in our team and our midfield woefully lacks a good physical player. There's also the fact that McCulloch is out for the season (like him or hate him) and Maurice Edu is neither a holding player nor any good at playing football. I'd be tempted to have a radical shakeup and play Papac and Bartley at centre back with Bougherra in front protecting them. Ness and Hutton in the central are with Diouf and Naismith supporting Jelavic. We shouldn't be afraid of progressive change and surely that is worth trying against a shite SPL team. Weir is finished, Bougherra looks better in advanced areas than defensively, Bartley is worth a shot and Papac has always impressed me at centre back. Lennon outperformed our midfield with 10 men and appears to have Walter's card marked. Between now and the end of the season, we need to think how we are going to win the midfield battle. We're unlikely to do it through ball retention, technique and intelligent passing, that's for sure.
  20. I stated my opinion based on your posts.
  21. This is a silly comparison. I am not Walter's biggest fan but I'd have him over Eck any day. People forget how bad things became under Eck. Remember when he managed to lose to Zizkov (sp?) with a side containing the likes of Klos, De Boer, Arteta, Numan, Arveladze etc? Remember the signing of players such as Maniero, Mladenovic, Capucho, Jeffers, Ostenstad, Emerson, Bernard etc? Fair enough at times his budget was very tight but these guys weren't even SPL level never mind Rangers level. He at least had money to sign players capable of running and making a pass within a mile of their team mate Remember losing to Celtic bout 200 times on the trot to the point where it felt like giving up the gulf was so big? Remember finishing third in a 2 team league? Whilst Walter has his limitations, McLeish was a fucking disaster towards the end and after he had to bring in his own players. Also as mentioned above the fact Eck inherited such a better team is relevant. When he came in we had excellent players just needing a boot up the arse The closest I've ever come to hating a Rangers manager was the latter part of the Eck era.
  22. As soon as a striker starts playing in midfield his goal record becomes pretty irrelevant particularly playing at sides like Sunderland, Bolton and Blackburn. I haven't read much about what Brown has been saying. I'm not interested. I read one article where he basically repeated exactly what Diouf said except the other way round. That made no sense to me. It wasn't a response? Why did he not counter what Diouf said, they can't both be right? Or did he call Diouf a liar and it was shoddy journalism? A lot of the shite printed up here reminds me of Doublethink in the 1984 novel...Rewrite history with whatever timmy chooses to say
  23. Celtic have less honour than they ever have had in my life. I really despise the cunts. What club has a captain and manager who are lowlife degenerate scum with no sense of decency? Fuck me, Lennon is making O'Neil look more respectable by the day, and he was a dishonourable shite too, albeit a talented one. I also think some of the tackles in the OF are getting out of hand. Both Naismith and Bougherra had challenges that could easily have been red, but given what Stokes and Samaras got off with previously there has to be consistency. Someone is going to get their ankle broken. I've no problem with a strong challenge, if performed by a strong player with an intent to win the ball a la Souness, Makelele et al but there's a lot of dodgy 'forward' challenges flying about that are a bit late and high. If I was a manager in a big European club I wouldn't want my players going anywhere near the SPL because the ethos to deal with technique here is to kick the guy.
  24. Totti's one of my favourite players and it was my ff name
  25. Terrific news. Punt him in the summer and sign a good proper holding midfielder
