  1. Did I honestly just see someone suggest their 'favourite' 3-5-2? Jesus wept.
  2. I'm happy with the final day but I don't think you can really be happy with the window overall. If we didn't sign Diouf this would have been a terrible window.
  3. Tbh nothing surprises me at this strange club we now find ourselves supporting. Rangers FC is the footballing equivalent of a David Lynch film on acid. Surreal and unpredictable
  4. "They arent in this mess because of Lloyds, but because Murray allowed the debt to soar in the first place."
  5. Noticed in the article Davis, Bougherra and Whittaker are all out of contract next year. They should be offered extended deals soon or else sold. We can't allow another Boyd/Millr fiasco. btw - what's so wrong with the article
  6. Erm pretty sure he generally is a right winger. That's where has has always played previously. Generally wingers/inside forwards play on the opposite sides in a 4-3-3. In a 4-4-2 though probably normally play on their conventional side.
  7. The Webster ruling Hardly playing a game. Going to Dun United and never injured
  8. If Beattie performs for Blackpool then combined with Ferguson and Adam's performances in England this is pretty solid evidence of inadequacies in our management
  9. We do and our team actually looks quite good on paper. We find ourselves once again in the position where we're a couple of players short of having a really good side yet a couple of players away from having a really poor one. A crisis is never far from Ibrox... Tie people down on long contracts and get some solidarity please, Rangers.
  10. What has saved Liverpool here is they actually got a not bad fee for Suarez. He's a much better and more proven player than Carroll. It says it all that a player who starred in the world cup and has been one of the top prospects in world football for years is worth considerably less than a guy who has scored some goals in the EPL in 6 months and last season wasn't even close to being top scorer in the championship. Oh AND Carroll is currently injured! Carroll does look a decent striker but this is just typical English football. The move and hype will probably go to his head and he might struggle. Liverpool also have a pretty rotten midfield IMO. Carroll is a target man whose main strength is headers but Liverpool lack a winger
  11. It also didn't help that he illogically played beside Lafferty. It was never going to work.
  12. Knowing Holloway he will get a few goals out of Beattie. Beattie has been frequently paired with Lafferty to disastrous effect and the club have no got him fit.
  13. You obviously haven't seen my Healy rants
  14. He's also a player who has played regularly in the premiership in recent years, often playing at a high level. With the state we're in we're only going to get players of that level with massive issues or when they;re almost retired to be perfectly honest. I'm not sure if we can afford to act all high and mighty considering the embarrassment the club has caused supporters over much of the past 10 years. We've signed so much shite that its just good to see a player come in who's actually recently performed at a high level. By all accounts we were in for Billy Mehmet ffs, so I'll take Diouf and all his baggage thank you very much
  15. He plays for Arsenal. Maybe it was only a half season loan deal. Maybe SU couldn't afford to contribute to his wages anymore. Who knows.
  16. Healy has never been a natural goal scorer at club level and has scored something like 8 goals collectively in almost 4 years. That includes spells in the championship.
  17. Well actually he's almost 20 and isn't untried. He's played in the championship which is a much higher level than the SPL. And if he has any future in the premiership then he will walk the SPL without breaking sweat.
  18. Really? How many players have they produced from their youth academy that have made a big impact at the club in the last 10 years? How many English players feature regularly too? Arsenal buy cheap(ish) players from abroad and develop them. It's a myth that they have this wonderful history of bringing through their own players.
  19. For a 4-4-2 I would probably drop Davis, play Ness and Edu in the middle and Naismith and Weiss on the flanks. A 4 man midfield containing Diouf, Weiss and Davis would lose the midfield battle against any half decent team. Even a 4-4-2 with two attacking wide men can be a risk if the opposition plays three central midfielders, which is where Davis can be useful on the right as he can tuck in. Diouf and Jelavic would be my attackers Ideally I'd like to see us playing 4-5-1/4-3-3 and pretty much keeping the same team (rotating where necessary) in Europe an the SPL. But I've been saying that for years so I'll keep dreaming. I feel Smith can randomly change formation too often and it leads to confusion sometimes. The beauty of 4-5-1/4-3-3 is it can be a very attacking or contained formation depending on the opposition. The best sides rarely change formation. Maybe we would play good football if we had a better sense of balance in our team. A midfield trio of Ness, Edu and Davis with Naismith and Diouf/Weiss supporting Jelavic would be my ideal choice
  20. Healy's one strength was his goals at interntional level and he hasn't scored for Northern Ireland in well over 2 years. Terrible signing
  21. Was the most awkward interview ever. Particularly with the random broad Glaswegian shouts in the background like 'C'mon big yin!' The same questions kept getting the same answers then he brings up Doncaster reject David Healy and Dioufs probably never heard of him. As I said in another topic, I want to see Diouf playing just off Jelavic. Although in recent years he's not scored often and played more often in midfield, he's still a decent player that has scored in the past and such a player could bang them in here. If there's one thing Boyd and Miller have proven, any half decent forward at an old firm club can 'score for fun up here' His internarional record is very impressive - 21 in 41 until he retired from international football.
  22. Adam would sink without trace at Spurs. Their entire team is built around Van Der Vaart then there's Bale, Modric etc. He needs to go to another EPL club but not one with too many flair players imo as I think the reason hes so good at Blackpool is he controls the midfield and gets high confidence
