  1. I personally hope he plays just off Jelavic with Weiss and Naismith on the flanks.
  2. he was originally a striker. Tends to play anywhere in attack or the wings
  3. We wouldn't get any money for a 33 year old. I'd be surprised if we got 100k knowing what we're like
  4. Could actually be a good Miller replacement. He WAS a far better player than Miller actually. But key word is 'was', again I have little faith in any signings we make. In saying that, Diouf and Jelavic in attack and suddenly we could have a top pairing EDIT - Above all else I don't see us getting him. He'd have to have no other half decent offers
  5. You just reminded me of another hilarious Walter Smith signing. Walter seems to like big strong guys that can't trap a bag of cement.
  6. He's a quality defender but has injury problems. Says it all that we're signing someone who was just pish at Doncaster and they're signing a player proven in the EPL. If Celtic had a half decent manager the gulf between us and them would probably be what it was like during much of NIAR (but the other way round).
  7. Half hearted bid put in at last minute for reasonably talented mid table player in Serie A or La Liga to make it look like we have some ambition still I bet. Or maybe we wont even bother anymore
  8. Hopefully nobody is daft enough to give him much money
  9. The only relevance Boyd and Miller now serve are a reminder of how inept we are at contract negotiations and transfers. When Miller fails in Turkey I hope we're not interested in him. He might find in a few months no premiership team will touch him. A few bad games and the Miller of old could come back ie woeful useless turd.
  10. Aye because scoring one goal proves he's going to score a lot..
  11. Probably a much worse signing than Riordan would have been. We should not be signing 31 year olds that have just played for Doncaster

Or maybe as predicted by me he only featured as a last resort and will always be second choice to experienced players

I seem to remember a couple of years ago John Fleck winning a couple of MOTM awards and impressing, looking also to be destined for the top. He's barely featured since.
  14. I think the day we signed Egil Ostenstad I gave up any hope on understanding our signings
  15. Davie Weir's probably averaged a better goal ratio in recent years. Deary me
  16. I think there's two key problems. 1. The standard of football is poor and even the old firm now are not what they were. Old firm derbies lack the interest they previously had. There are no Larssons, Fergusons, De Boers etc now and the games can be boring. Put simply, until Scottish football considerably improves it will be difficult to get enough viewers to attract a good enough tv deal. 2. Our game lacks any business intelligence or marketing creativity. We need intelligent business people to somehow make this a brand and generate interest. Instead we have an array of confusion and cluelessness. Silly reports and devolution resulting in going back to a 10 team league. The old firm are the only way Scottish football can become remotely interesting in terms of TV deals IMO. Non OF fans seem to think the answer is to make the strong weaker and the weak stronger but then you'd end up with a nation of weak teams. The old firm have to get back to what they were!
  17. Yes but he's staying (for now). He's also to get a cut of the Adam transfer, which is a big strange. Blackpool are valuating him at £16m, 32 times what they paid for him... Alex Ferguson said he could not cope with Charlie Adam at the weekend and that he fully agrees with the evaluation. You couldn't make it up. Struggling to perform against Hamilton to destroying Man Utd...hmmm
  18. What a load of complete bollocks. A team has a squad of registered players and can choose whoever they want. Blackpool scored 2 goals in this game and could have got a point. Unless the game was deliberately thrown, I see no logic behind this. The big clubs will rotate their players and leave out stars for certain matches all the time. They should apply this rule to the Carling cup and fine all the big clubs who play youths/reserves if there's going to be any consistancy..
  19. He wouldn't be our worst signing tbh. But why are we so keen to get former tims nowadays? And isn't Riordan's performance at Celtic an indication of his true ability? Christ I just checked, he's 28 now Signing players on the bench at Hibs and on loan from Aberdeen really shows what a joke we are
  20. Christ, if you're going to make some racist shite up at least use a believable story.
  21. They are pish but if we're any better it's the thinnest of margins.
