  1. His view appears pretty clear. Neil Alexander The Rangers goalkeeper Neil Alexander says his time at the club has been 'the best of my career'. Photograph: Chris Clark/PA Neil Alexander has revealed he will consider quitting Rangers if he continues to play second fiddle to Allan McGregor in goal. Alexander, 31, made his first Scottish Premier League appearance of the season in Saturday's 3-0 win over St Johnstone after McGregor suffered a hamstring injury. He will also start tomorrow's trip to Dundee United but is resigned to losing his place once his rival is fit – as he has done during his entire two-year Rangers career. "It's extremely hard, especially at my age, because I want to play," said Alexander, who joined the club in 2008 after seven seasons with Cardiff City and Ipswich Town. "And, having had a taste of playing at this club and the success I've had in a short period of time, it makes it twice as hard to be sitting on the sidelines and not involved when the boys are winning. "If that was the case then I'd have to go away and think about it. I would need to look at my options and decide what to do. "I love being at the club. I feel it's been the best time of my career, and my wife and kids are settled, so you have to weigh everything up involved with being here. We have to wait to see what the future brings, but there's only so long, I feel, before I need to get back playing. If it's not here, then maybe I need to look somewhere else. "Do I have a timeframe in my own head? Yes. I spoke to the gaffer after the first game of the season as I felt I needed to go in and have a chat with him. He said I had never let him down and that I've done brilliantly since I joined the club. He put his arm round me and said I was unlucky not to be in the team. "But it's my career at the end of the day and, as much as I love it here and would love to stay for a long time, I feel I need to be playing. I've got an idea in my own head and we'll see what happens."
  2. Sadly Frankie, it appears to be open season against the club from all quarters. It would be a starting point if someone in authority, who has plenty to say, stepped up to the plate and said enough is enough, and you know I can't help but think that it was "Walters" unfounded and unproven bank remark that started it all.
  3. Isn't it about time WS put a gag on Rangers players making their availability known to other clubs, even DJ has just commented on a situation that could end up in chaos, if you wont put the boot in "Walter" at least put your foot down.
  4. I get it, Murray is really Ernst Stavro Blofeld and Rangers is a cover for S.P.E.C.T.R.E. not Phil the other one.
  5. Willie Waddell won the cup winners cup in '72, by rote that makes WW Rangers most successful manager in europe.
  6. Honest, it's true. "A TORY hopeful for the Speaker's post led the singing of sectarian songs at a Rangers supporters' club, it was claimed last night. A political blogger posted a picture of MP John Bercow, who was favourite to succeed Michael Martin, with flags appearing to bear Ulster Defence Association symbols behind him. Witnesses say it dates back to a meeting of the ultra-right Federation of Conservative Students at the unidentified Rangers club in the late 1980s. And they claim Bercow led the crowd in singing The Sash, as well as songs about IRA hunger striker Bobby Sands. One said last night: "He seemed to know all the words and was singing heartily." =========================== It is good to know the Speaker of the "Mother of Parliaments" is a bear.
  7. I remember the last time or rather the second last time that Rangers had a share issue, fans decided to keep their hands in their pockets. The distrust of our leader, was greater than the need of the club.
  8. Smiths recent record in Europe. SMITH'S EURO RECORD SINCE 2007 30 games in Uefa Cup and Champions League 9 wins (including penalty shoot-out win over Fiorentina) 11 defeats 10 draws 53 points dropped from a possible 90 points, points accrued 37.
  9. Excellent points MF, when standards are allowed to slip to the point that only lip service is payed to them it is a sorry day. I can't imagine any other manager in Rangers history would have accepted the public displays of disrespect that WS has, PLG walked away over it, that is real principles.
  10. Could Rangers make it work, or is it all just window dressing. END OF MY FOOTBALL CLUB DREAM ââ?¬â?? 2/12/09 Just 18 months after buying Ebbsfleet for Ã?£635,000, the MyFootballClub dream is dead. Members have voted overwhelmingly to scrap the team selector which was never used. They voted to buy the operating system from founder Will Brooks for Ã?£15,000. He previously took 21 per cent of membership fees to cover the cost of running the site. Ebbsfleet is now effectively a fans' club. At renewals day in February, 21,000 members disappeared. Cashflow went through the floor and the manager was forced to release all but three of his squad. With a playing budget of just over Ã?£6,000 a week, the Conference side now look likely candidates for relegation. The club are facing annual losses of Ã?£250,000, and they need at least 2,500 of their 9,000 current members to stump up a membership fee increased by 65 per cent to Ã?£100.
  11. I can think of probably a more desperate team nearer to home than any in the EPL, who should take a punt and pay Boyd the money to keep him.. http://www.footballeconomy.com/
  12. I would thank you not to distort my posts, I do not recall mentioning violence, but I see you have, such an imagination. It makes me happy all ends up that I shall not have you further abridging my posts. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/dec/13/rangers-walter-smith-scottish-premier-league
  13. I think I have heard it all now, it is insulting peoples intelligence if you don't agree with the Walter myth. Does "Walter" or rather has "Walter" and his staff been offered new contracts, as for insulting intelligence, don't insult mine by suggesting that this is because any new owner may not fancy retaining their services, if a new owner doesn't have the money to pay them off if required, they certainly are not the mega investor we are looking for. It looks very much like the present board incumbents are not racing to support "Walter" either.
  14. In simple terms, Souness's mantra was as it should be, you cross the manager of Rangers once, you don't get a second chance. Smith has a different approach, we saw how well that worked with Gascoigne and others of that ilk. You may think Smith is a legend, I just don't happen to think he is very good, in what was very often a one horse race John Barnes would have succeeded (but there again),Smiths throwing away of the legendary 10th title encapsulates his total failure in any way to be proactive to situations, on and off the field. Whatever happens the future is at most uncertain, anything else does not bear thinking about.
  15. What man management skills, the ones that have had a myriad of Rangers players in the news for all the wrong reasons. I was lucky enough to see Souness showing some real man management skills outside of the old Chimmy Chungas on Great Western road one dark night, I think AMc. will attest to that stookie and all.
  16. Hope you are right Zappa, but if someone comes in with an offer what will the club do, knock it back and lose Boyd for nothing at the end of the season, or pay him what he asks for now and put all speculation to bed. With Bains record in transfer dealings I fear the worst.
  17. And so it begins again, is it resigning talks or transfer talks. http://www.shieldsgazette.com/nufc/Toon-Boro-and-Blues-in.5903767.jp
  18. Maybe WS should have used those mythical legendary man management skills, maybe letting a player rip the pish and very publicly is the new liberal way forward.
  19. If you can't see that Boogie has ripped the pish out of WS and us 3 times, you must have led a very sheltered life. You got one thing right.
  20. Much as I hate to go down the well worn WS path I must, it appears the mythical man management skills of WS have been exploited to the full by Boogie, he shafted WS, despite the alleged mythical man management skills (who can forget the jolly japes od some of WS's former man management victims)and by association shafted Rangers, not once but three times with a likely fourth on the way. How much longer will the myth endure.
  21. It does not get much more negative than this. "Since Rangers reached the first ever group stages in 1992, Scotland’s representatives have only encountered sporadically heartening campaigns, and the results of Walter Smith’s side this season represent a nadir. This Group G points total of two is the lowest of any British side in the competition’s history and Rangers are the first Scottish or English team to lose all three homes games in the group stages."
  22. As if you didn't guess. http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/389032999?-11344
  23. It is very true, as you will no doubt discover when Boyd is joe the toff.
  24. The bottom line whatever you think of Boyd, is that Rangers i.e. Bain WS have handed Boyd all the aces in any negotiations, they can spin any way they like, if he goes it is because they fucked up big time, WS didn't and doesn't rate him so no way Bain would sanction the money to keep him, I just hope that if he does go he makes it big time, another WS failure to regognise the real deal.
  25. You have totally thrown me there, disgraced former chairman, in what way and by whom, as for Miller he never was and never will be a football player.
