I would imagine it would be similar to the Takeover group that was formed within Rangers? I would assume they would still be answerable to the whole board? You would hope so anyway.
Apparently not if they were withholding alleged business plans/documents from all and sundry.
I will say it again, the rst has gone well beyond any form of redemption or resurrection, it should be put to sleep swiftly and with as little pain as possible.

To my knowledge he is correct although I was not part of the Executive Group so I can't confirm that.
Who is/was the executive group, do they in effect make the final decision on any direction to be taken on any issue, without having to put anything to anyone, i.e. without any controls over their remit.

Frankie,
You are peddling this myth that he was denied the platform to give his account at the AGM. If he could not hear what the Chair said he should have asked him to speak up. If I have failed to answer relative or legitimate questions then I apologise. Yesterday was a very difficult day for me for personal reasons and I was doing a lot of forum hopping during the time I was at home. I can only remember two questions. One about how the Trust recovers from this (or words to that effect) which I answered but perhaps not to your liking. The other was about why it wasn't brought up at the AGM which i think Craig answered. Other than that, I must have missed other questions.
What is your take on the ellis fiasco, did you see a business plan or a comic of any description PLG. BH recollections below.
Whilst it's completely off the subject, I can say that I was in contact with Ellis representative in Guernsey by letter, email and phone officially on behalf of the Trust and unofficially through an intermediary and I never heard of or received a business plan nor was one ever mentioned at an RST Executive or Board Meeting.

Why should it have to be sanctioned by the club.
There is an organisation sanctioned by the club do you think they are the real deal.
It is simple, the club is the fans and the fans are the club.
I think the real deal is the fans for the fans, my communist leanings,..... not professional blazers.

He was only as good as is any player, as he was allowed to be, the fact that we were happy to let them have possession in front of us may have flattered him.... to deceive..

Despite not playing well last night I think Valencia will be the hardest team in our group. Top of La Liga the best league in the world. Man Utd are not what they were. Valencia have also lost key players but don't look any worse for it. Spanish clubs are notorious for selling their best players then bringing through other players who are just as good.
Something to be said for a 20 team league.

If I told you every CA I've worked with was fully seized of their code of ethics, I'd have to abandon truth in the process.
A few have called or by innuendo claimed that they knew better than the rst auditor, but done nothing to back that claim up....cheap shot in anyone's language, even in the language of those of us who do not have words as one of our stronger points.....

Always proud and second to none.
See them march on, marching on through the years of History
Heads held on high, for the jersey they would do or die
Fight fight for right, play the game wear the badge of glory
Win lose or draw, well thats the Rangers story
See them march on, banners high as they fly before you
Loyal and true, on their way to cheer the boys in blue
Follow they will, marching on through the songs of glory
Win lose or draw, well thats the Rangers story.

Am sure I read that the encumbent new Treasurer was a CA. If that is indeed the case then they are bound by a code of ethics under ICAS.
His/her relationship with MD should be largely irrelevant with regards to the position of Treasurer of the Trust - loss of designation is a heavy cross to bear for someone who fails to uphold their professional ethics.
I would be amazed if any CA didnt uphold their professional ethics for the sake of a possibly
spurious relationship.
This one is, in my opinion, making a mountain out of a molehill.
So, the CA who signed off on the rst accounts, tell me about them, or are they a world apart.

One club, one fans organisation, sanctioned by the club and accountable to both fans and club, any other groups would be what they would be, splinter groups.
I am old enough to know that this discord and factionalism, is a relatively new thing and a most unwelcome one, sometimes the old days really were better, something all parties should and could learn from.

So the rst was involved in covert operations a bit like James Bond or Gordon Gekko, can you confirm who your controller was, was it M or NL,the more I hear of the inner workings of the rst, the more I am convinced it is our very own SPECTRE.

And since you bring that subject up , it has since transpired that I was correct re-ellis and his business plan being sent to the RST , the man at the center of this fiasco has since admitted to certain people that he did in fact recieve a business plan from Ellis , the only bit I got wrong was the courier part , but there you go .
Seems mister Dingwall is everybit as good at smoke and mirrors as the mint

I categorically deny that I attempted to bad mouth Scott in any way. I was explaining to someone why I wasn't going on the thread about last year's AGM. I didn't want to get involved in case the subject came up. Scott bought the items and I know this was done in good faith. I have never, ever, tried to suggest otherwise and have also discussed this with Scott who was fine about it. At the end of the day the RST had to write off £3K due to this but I don't know anyone who said Scott had done this knowingly. That would be crazy.
Haud oan hen, am no taking sides, seems to me like one big bun fight, for the sake of all, RST should liquidate forthwith.
Maybe then we can have a fresh look at things, my own idea would be one organisation for all, but I still think as orgs go, none will have any say or influence in or on the club.

Just to be clear, I banned Christine Sommerville from here.
Why?
She'd been PM'ing influential members on this forum twisted information about Scott (McMillan). This was reported to me by one of the people who received a PM. Sorry, but if somebody is distributing distorted and potentially damaging information about the person who is organising our dinner (on our website), which in turn undermines our event, they are getting banned. I've no doubts at all the intent of this was malicious.
Just to be clear, Scott buys a lot of merchandise for charity events, one such purchase items may of been fake (still not proven either way). The wording of the PM was such that it suggested Scott was responsible for distributing fake merchandise, whilst technically that isn't a lie, it's a pretty big twist on things.
To clarify (to the best of my knowledge), he was responsible (as agreed and approved by the RST board of the time) to purchase memorabilia for RST events. One such purchase was later revealed to perhaps be fake, and if true (never been proven either way), it's fair to say he'd been conned.
I'm sure Scott or anyone else more up to speed will provide more details of exactly what happened. I've had one conversation (over a year ago) about this.

I haven't said I know anything. You really need to be more careful with your language; I am surprised at you.
You mused a possibility, so let me muse it back to you again.......how would you know, I am always careful, it's a matter of degree...:box:

Perhaps they've conceded that they have been asked questions to which they have no answer?
And how would you know they have conceded or have no answer, are you suggesting that he/she/they knowingly signed off accounts which were less than transparent and should have been qualified ???

When you can see through this sort of gash, you will have the answer.
but Edgar is confident that the Rangers family will rally around.

wabash you've got an excellent way of asking a single question
It hasn't been answered, it appears only the auditor can answer it, by official statement, if I was he or she, I would be far from happy about having my ability/integrity trashed on a messageboard, in fact I would take serious steps to have that development rectified, if that was indeed required.

Some of us do...
Spill, who is the auditor, Enron ?

Haud oan a minit here, folks are playing hard and fast with the auditors signing off of said accounts, as far as I am aware he never classed the underwriting of the tables as a loan, anything but from what I read.
So how come all of a sudden everybody knows better than the auditor, hope tae fek this isny turnin into another fekin "ellis sources told me" type of fiasco, and as sources and fiascos go.......that was the mother of all fekin fiascos...

The question that needs answering here seems to be the one that is being avoided, will it take a statement from the auditor(s) to rectify that.
One other thing, if the money that dinger had allegedly borrowed never existed in the accounts of rst, how could he have borrowed it.
As I understand it he gauranteed/underwrote any loss, with his money , maybe one of our resident bean counters can enlighten.
