  1. Really ? So potentially deny the club even more revenue ?

I would have thought that Ibrox would be bouncing with 45,000+ now that we have Bluenoses in charge, at least in the short-term - that would be the ideal time to INCREASE prices, not reduce them. Maybe I'm in cuckoo land though.

another season in the Championship - which I believe will happen - and we will not be getting 45,000 for matches. However maybe reducing ticket proces will incentivise certain fans to enable to get a decent crowd.

I think we're deluded if we think that we'll be back up to regular attendences of 45,000 in the Championship again next season.

  2. If, as expected, we are the Championship again next season, then we must try and turn this into a positive by ensuring our players are drilled week in week out to perform at a high level so that they are prepared for when we do go up next season.

Next season, keep ticket prices at a reasonable level - reduce them if possible - fill the stadium as much as possible and start to creat a more positive atmos at games. This can also be helped by performances on the pitch.

  3. Sky apparently reporting that it's because King won't say how much he's planning to invest (though I'm in the office so getting this through FF). I must have missed the full details of the huge wodge of cash the current board have committed to putting in. King is surely waiting to see how little they've left: they'll probably have sold the carpet and board room table in return for a fish supper.

As mentioned previpusly - I have absolutely no fears when it comes to how much money King et al will have at their disposal. This will all be in hand.

  4. He's got a cheek !!

Him and Ally have been responsible for completely wasting the past few seasons and have singlehandedly destroyed the footballing side.

You should have left ages ago Kenny - and you do not deserve any form of pay off !!!

In fact - I wish you had stayed at Celtic !!!!

  5. We have to hope the Newcastle5(when all fit) can improve the team & get us promoted. It is our only hope unfortunately

To be honest - that's my only hope mate. I have been chomping at the bit to get these Newcastle players in to the team. They can ONLY improve on what we have. I think, in paticular Birgirimana could add some much needed spice and energy to the midfield and I think Streete can had some aggression and pace to the centre half position. Ferguson can ad some pace and creativity. These guys have to get some game time soon so that that can then be ready for the play off's.

Still, if i was a betting man, I'd be reluctant to put money on us beating Hivs over two legs and then beating the second bottom team over two legs.

Quite frankly we are relying on the Newcastle lads hitting the ground running and really taking on the challenge of the play off's. We need to use the games between now and then as strong preparation.

  6. Its good to be optimistic but given that the last share issue was not exactly a success do you have any evidence for thinking there might now be big investment people willing to invest in the club. I thought at his press conference King was quite cautious on this issue.

    I don't have evidence.

But you can bet your bottom dollar that King is not coming into this pennyless. He has done his homework and knows the score. I am convinced there will be sufficient cash to clear the mess and get the ball rolling. If there wasn't, he wouldn't be in this position.

I am a glass half empty bear but even I have optimism when it comes to our future financial position under King and his colleagues and investors. I also feel King was deliberately playing it down in his press conference.

  7. I think King will have more than sufficient cash behind him to deal with these pricks.

I feel he has some big investment people behind him willing to do a proper job on rebuilding our club.

  8. Dave King has claimed a “landslide victory” in his bid to claim control of Rangers FC.

The South African-based businessman claims all his resolutions have been passed with no need for Friday’s EGM to take place.

On Monday, Rangers chairman David Somers resigned with chief executive Derek Llambias and finance director Barry Leach facing motions to remove them from the board.

In a statement on Tuesday, King claimed Llambias had informed him that he had secured the necessary votes.

He said: "All of the Rangers directors that are subject to my requisition have now accepted that my resolutions have been successful and there is now no need for the general meeting to proceed. Mr Llambias put it best by advising me that I had achieved a “landslide” victory. I wish to thank all shareholders, and particularly the fans, for this resounding success. The future now looks more recognisable for all Rangers stakeholders.

"James Easdale and David Somers did the right thing by resigning however the two appointees of Mr Ashley have stubbornly refused to resign and are using their current position (as remaining directors) to withhold implementation of the resolutions for personal gain. I attach a copy of my email to them in this regard.

"Now that the incoming board and I can focus on the future I will issue a further press statement outlining the immediate and intermediate steps that we have to take as we commence the road to re-establishing Rangers to the institution that its legacy demands."

King still faces questions over his suitability to be a director of an publicly-listed company, following his convictions in South Africa on 41 counts of breaching the country's Income Tax Act.

The businessman has previously stated the fact he is able to serve as a director in South Africa without impediment is a clear indication he will be able to do the same in the United Kingdom.

King and Murray both will also face questions from the Scottish Football Association over their suitability under the governing body's fit and proper person guidelines.

Both men were involved with Rangers in the lead-up to its slump into liquidation in 2012, which will lead to scrutiny from the Scottish FA's board.

King will also be challenged on his tax convictions before a decision is reached on whether he can serve as an official at the club

  9. The problems under Ally and KMD didn't happen overnight though. Things have been very wrong at our club for a long time.

    I agree.

Walter has a lot to answer to with regard to the dire football 'philosophy' which has engulfed our club for years.

On top of that he had us playing some shocking 'football' which we have continued to this day.

I wish he had left McDowell at Celtic and I wish he had not recommended Ally as manager.

  10. Not in the case of Leach; his position is untenable.

Llambias will be voted off and it's not clear if Ashley can or will want to reinstate him on the Board. He may have a short term future on the Board in a transition period.

His position as CEO is another matter.

If KingCo/T3B are in control of the Boardroom as seems likely then I'm not sure if it is the wisest move or cost effective to replace him unless they have a cheaper and better qualified alternative.

I'm pretty sure they will have a better CEO lined up - that much is guaranteed IMO.

  11. It's cause he has no touch skill or passing ability. Never seen one player give the ball away so much.

Oh and he's a lazy coward.

I know it's not difficult - but he has pretty much got the best touch at the club. Name a player who has a better touch???

The problem is that he is surrounded by thick players who have not got any touch, vision, composure or control.
