  1. Totally agree here. I think this could be a very useful exercise for our younger players who may not get as much game time given our recent signings.
  2. i like the lion rampant badge that is on the Bill Struth Main Stand. Its just got a classic look to it!
  3. Could this item under discussion be why there was such a rush over the reconstruction talks including a merger of the bodies? i mean if the bodies merge prior to the investigation outcome then wouldnt that eliminate the possibility (if any) for pursual of monies owed to Rangers? Basically - the SPL governing body doesnt exist anymore?
  4. I think the main reason why Dortmund are being seen as some revolutionary club is down to how they train their players. Some of their infrastructure looks amazing. There is a clip on youtube about thier footbalmachine and it looks like somehting we could use to try and teach our players passing!
  5. I imagine this relates to the loan that was put forward to purchase the assets?
  6. In terms of is a side letter a contractually binding agreement - from what I gather, there is something called law of TORT I think??? which in essence states that to constitute a contract there doesnt need to be any signing of documents but if the document exists and then the player did infact undertake the actions described within that letter then that can be seen as the player 'agreeing to the contract' Not 100% sure as this isnt my forte....
  7. There are two main areas, that are very general, that we really need to work on. These are a) ball retention and b) technical ability. Our ball retention is garbage, no passing on the deck, off the ball movement, no pressing to regain posession - its shambolic! the 5 second rule has been mentioned, this is something we dont do. I could understand on our UEFA Cup run that we would hold back and hit on the break but the reality is that we shouldnt need to do this in Div 3, and we should be fitter than our opponents so that we can tire them out rather than holding off and trying to get them to tire themselves out!!! Technical ability is something i have questioned for years now. When was the last time we had an out and out free kick taker that we could call a 'free kick specialist'? We have had decent players but not a specilaist. Look at Celtic over the recent years....Nakamura, Thomson, Mulgrew, McGeady....each of the time these guys got a free kick around the box - it was squeeky bum time for the opponents as more often than not they had technical ability to really test teams. We dont seem to try and develop this skill in players....hell, we rarely even have a dig from 20 yards out against these teams!!! Possible solutions to these a) need to look at our coachin methods and look at the continent (Spain, Italy, Holland) and see how they bring their philosophies out in players. b) start with a bag of balls and say 'have a dig son' and keep on it!!!
  8. I have since read that one reason why there was no investigation into Celtic's EBT was that Junihno only received money following his departure from Celtic. If that is the case the surely only the SPL can investigate the receivers of cash whilst at the club, which would possibly reduce the potential liabilities and possible titles that could be in jeaopardy?
  9. This is rather interesting as I would say that the correct stance must be "innocent until proven guilty" Now for Celtic to have been cleared of any wrong doing is strange as you cannot prove an EBT is administered properly (I think?), all you can do is state that there is no side contract / letter that states that the player(s) will not need to repay any loans. This fact is why Rangers are being investigated as there is apparrently evidence of these side letters / contracts which would mean that Rangers may have breached the rules as there is grounds for an investigation. So in essence, what I make from this is that Celtic admitted to haveing an EBT, disclosed that they administered it properly, disclosed that they paid the "potential tax liability" and that was enough to satisfy the SPL. No-one in their right mind would also have said "oh aye, we also ave these standard letters we sent out that rules out any repayments...." - that would be totally shooting yourself in the foot. Which begs the real question - why has there been so much investigation, leaking of confidential documents, television broadcasts surrounding Rangers....when Celtic's word is good enough when questioned about the exact same scheme??? Answers on a postcard please....
  10. I hate that Phil chap!! So deluded it is frightening! Why does he even have access to publish this bile....oh thats right, he has internet access!!! Grade A Twat!!!
  11. What a great article by Chris....sums up what has been waiting to be said about the so called 'journalism' from Alex. Full Marks!!!
  12. Yeah I am sure he is still kicking about. Remember a while back when Matt MacKay left he said in the press that the training at rangers was mainly just playing games and not based on fitness or tactics, strategy etc. Seems like it wasnt sour grapes after all....
  13. I agree with ome of what is being said about McCoist needing to try and develop his own system and going to what he says is an xciting brand of football for the fans. Some folk seem to be slaughtering him as he has been in the job for over a year and we dont have any evidence of such - but the changes that he has had to deal with MUST play a factor. Looking back at last season, the squad we have was tight at the time....but compared to what we have now it seems a bit of a dream. The situation we are in isnt great and we knew this prior to the kick off. We have had no pre-season, players in squad a matter of days after joining the club, youth players having to adapt to gametime in the 1st team, the continual uncertainty and dis-interest from certain players......when you read those, and trying not to make excuses, its no suprise that we are having trouble. I have wanted more than everfor us to develop our own brand of football but for years we have bought players to plug holes due to a small squad and often had to move players about. It is time this was finished and we made a fresh start and develop a new approach. Could a strong Director of Football play this part in the reveolution of Rangers???
  14. I know we dont have a requirement to have names on the back of shirts in SFL3 - but do we think gers tops with Larsson on the back would sell? I would certainly have to do a double take if I saw one haha
  15. I heard a rumour that if we get drawn against an SPL side at Ibrox in a cup -that the tickets can be purchased for £1, if bought with a £14 programme! hahaha starve them of any cash pot from us!!
  16. I read somewhere it was being painted - hence the closure. As such, i was very surprised it was opened last night!
  17. I think it would be good to get a decent crowd as the first game at Ibrox this season!! I will be there and cant wait!
  18. I think that some of the paintwork needs refreshed and some of the plastic / glass used at the sides and top of the stands are looking rather....yellow-ish. makes it look a bit dirty in my opinion. a refresh would certainly improve the overall look of the stadium. I think one of the issues that was made about Ibrox was the requirement to undertake works to repalce some asbestos in the piping. I seem to recall a few seasons ago when there was a burst pipe in Ibrox that ended up postponing a match - that the pipe had to be replaced but it was only that section due to being mid-season. The further works were never carried out i dont think.
  19. Apparently the Club deck is closed for this tie - no idea why.
  20. I was at the Ac Milan Glorie match......give him a jersey!!!
  21. I shall be there doing the walk and handing over my cash. Any others from the forum going? Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
  22. Still frightening though.... Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
  23. I am starting to question the Blue Knights proposal a lot now as it seems to me....that they do not have, or are not willing to invest, cash themselves to invest into the club! We, as fans, will be asked to cough up at minimum £1000 for the pleasure of being a Blue Knight...and i remain unsure of what that gets you?? One share?? One vote?? On top of that, they are aligning themselves with ticketus to reduce the amount required to be paid back (by us....) and also they will need to borrow £5 million from them for working capital?? Seems rather odd to me.. Oh and am i mistaken or did Paul Murray not beat Craig Whyte by saying that the fans havr already funded the takeover by this ticketus deal?? So what exactly are we paying for then Paul?? It seems he is setting things up so the fans pay for the Craig Whyte farce and the Blue Knights takeover too....i am very sceptical.... 24. Is it not temporary wage cuts until the end of the season, at which time their normal wage will resume? Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
  25. We had no cash hence had to enter admin....now, all that has been achieved is that we are required to pay out more cash for them to do nothing about making strides towards helping save the club... Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
