  1. It wouldn't surprise me of the Board believe that there will be a surge in the number of ST sales come January when the half ST'd come out. If the race for the title is tight then that will be a key campaign for them to bring in more income.
  2. I had mentioned earlier in this thread about divulging the details of Whyte's current dodgy dealings during the takeover period and why HMRC never spoke out. What i find strange is if i was going to buy a £10 per month mobile phone contract - i need to get a credit check for that. Not saying that is even close to being the same thing - but surely to god a) there would have been some sort of checks made throughout this process which HMRC would have been party to and b) he must have had to declare details of his actual accounts / funding which would surely have also been required to be checked and cross checked etc? I just find that unbelievable!!
  3. One other thing to consider is the 'evidence' that VB has eluded to this past week. If this has merit - then it will be 'another piece of the jigsaw' that could fall into place which would bring the SFA fully into this! Also, as mentioned earlier - i would be amazed if HMRC did not inform the SFA of these ongoings when it was public knowledge that Whyte was in negotiations to buy Rangers! Perhaps this is the item VB are eluding to... Interesting times ahead Bears!
  4. The e-petition that was circling around a while back would be one way to start however that never really took off and it showed how disconnected and apathetic an element of our support can be. (No offence to anyone with those statements folks!) Perhaps an item such as this article would go far to glavanise our support a bit more to demand a public enquiry into the ongoings of CW takeover. Still not sure we would get 100K signatures required to have it taken to the next level. I would have suggested that perhaps given the number of podcasts / websites / supporters groups / blogs as well as the timing of the potential HMRC appeal Mk.3 and the start of the new season may be a good time to try and get the momentum going? But as proved before - its not easy.
  5. If this evidence is proven to have merit - would the RFFF be called into action??
  6. Poor - has to be said. I also wonder about the Fans Board aspect of this. They have clearly linked the two ideas together but I do wonder if the Fans Board will be privvy to as much as the Football and PLC Boards are. And if so, i assume they will be required to stick to the strict LSE rules that Wallace et al like to mention all the time. So, either way - whats the actual point? Glass-half-empty Loyal!
  7. I think the Louden was open for the Rugby. They seemed to have got decent numbers through the door based on their twitter account.
  8. Surely folk that still beleive this board will come good must take not that the board statement was purposely not made by the PLC board which would be binding based on LSE rules. Since the football board have made the statement, its a pretty worthless statement to make. The more you read the board statement, the more you can find strange wording which will effectively give them a get out if and when they sell Ibrox or Auchenhowie. I think the UoF statement is all well and good and i think they need to keep pressing - but i feel that if they are to get the attention of the board then they need to come out hitting a bit harder if possible. But as Frankie says - its hard to galvanise the support when there are such fragmented areas of our support, some of whom still back the board and support what they do, or do not, say!
  9. I remember just after the AGM he was interviewed and asked about what the future would hold for the requisitioners given their failure to get on the board. He was rather dismissive of the term 'failure' and said that it was a partial success given the changes made following their efforts to drive change etc. He was asked 'whats' next?' and his response was that he was going to spend the holiday period with his family and then return in the new year and consider the situation. I also have heard no more since then - which i almost expected. However we have heard a few bits from Malcolm Murray recently so perhaps the requisitioners are still keeping their eyes on the situation.
  10. Given the fact that our squad was depleted following our 'relegation' to Div 3 and the lack of secured funding for replacements - it was clear we would need to shop in the 'bargain basement' of football through free transfers. This was extra tough given the league in which we were competing. Based on this, i think it has been surprising some of the players we have managed to attract (Shiels, Temps, Sandaza) despite some of the poor performances they have shown. Where we have, IMO, spectacularly failed is in the development of our players. I don't see improvements in any of the players (from the youth set-up or signed SPL players) which has meant that these last few years was always doomed to failure. Since we arent in a position to enhance this area in time for the return to the top flight (??) then i imagine that we will be left with a lot of further rebuilding in order to compete next season. If we had the proper scouts, coaching methods then perhaps we wouldnt require quite as much investment given our players would have grown into the team and developed Rangers into a stronger footballing side.
  11. Its an app that effectively provides the user with an interface that better reflects a forum, as opposed to the way which a mobile device can display the web page. For example if i use my phone (Sony Xperia Z2) to come onto Gersnet, taking into account screen size, touch screen interface etc. it can be quite awkward to view threads and post easily. What Tapatalk does is support a forum format which makes viewing and posting a lot more straight forward. Edit - I would say if you plan on using your phone, then its worth giving Tapatalk a try. I used of for a while but found that i rarely used it given i work with a laptop all day and have a laptop at home too. For Phones and Tablet devices, i found it easier to use with Gersnet.
  12. I seem to recall that Ness wasn't included within Stoke's 25 man squad for the EPL one season - hardly a good move for him. I still think that a lot of players who left must seriously wonder if they are any better off given what its been like in the 3rd and 4th tiers up here with our attendances. I still maintain walking out in front of 45,000 every other week would be a massive selling point for Rangers. Another player who showed glimpses of skill was McCabe - he went to Sheffield Wednesday and haven't heard much about him lately.
  13. I would also be interested to hear if this Fan Board will be the route which the Supporters Groups will now need to take in order to engage with the club. I mean we are all aware about the lack of engagement from the board - maybe this is an exercise in passing the buck. If so, then i hope these characters are strong willed - otherwise i can see them getting a tough time of it.
  14. I also wonder how the 5 Rangers Supporters were selected from the multitude of participants in the Ready to Listen Surveys. Would be good to know more about the structure of this initiative.
  15. Reading this thread, there are a great deal of ideas being raised and some very worthwhile ones. Whilst i am on the fence about the renaming of the stand (not totally against it), i do think that Sandy has done much more than was ever expected of anyone at Rangers and i for one will always be indebted to him for his tireless actions and loyalty to the club; but also how he stood up for us, the fans. I would have liked it if there was some way for the fans to show their appreciation for what he did for us that didnt necessarily come from the Club itself. Not really sure what exactly but as a fan i think a gesture from us would be worthy.
  16. They were indeed let downs. Lots of individual talent but i agree with the players attitude letting them down. I also feel if they had been managed by one of the other managers on show at the World Cup (possibly the Chile, Costa Rica or Columbia Managers) then i think they might have put on a greater showing on that stage. Your point about the kids playing 4-4-2 and having to adapt to 4-5-1 being unfair is totally on the mark. If we are to expect a smooth transition from the youth set up to playing for the first team - then there needs to be some overarching consensus that ensures that these two meet. I dont really like the fact we always end up with so many players who are more like 'utility men' as they have had to adapt to different roles in order to 'do a job' for the team. This issue may have been minimised with the Director of Football Operations Role or whatever it was being called. But we all know a lot of work is needed in this area.
  17. Before the World Cup there was an article on the BBC website that went into detail on the Belgian FA and how they altered their approach to football from grass roots level and how this was paying dividends now. Now i realise that Belgium's performance in the World Cup can be seen as either good or bad depending on your POV. However, the main aspects that they changed was the fact that they moved away from the 'winning is everything' mentality and brought in a mindset of 'seeking continual improvement' on an individual basis. This would include early promotion of younger players to the next level in their football hierarchy if they weren't being challenged enough in the Under 12's for instance. Players on every team were given a minimum amount of gametime to ensure that players were given the opportunity to develop within games the same as most others which would eliminate the possibility of just opting for a strong starting 11 and having less than adequate backup (which IS an interesting point when you consider some of the results from Belgium's tactical substitutions that were made in the World Cup). Another aspect of change that was implemented to facilitate a stream of high quality players was the adoption of a standard formation: 4-3-3. From a young age, players were taught how to play within this system which would reap benefits as it allowed for a more free-flowing style of play which would allow for a more substantial level of improvement in players to be nurtured throughout their careers. All in all it was an interesting read and when i noticed some of these traits (mostly the substitutions) in the World Cup - i thought back about this article and it did ring home some truths in that the national game in Scotland is not good one bit. However it wasn't all rosy - the chap who instigated these changes was slaughtered at time during the transition and it never went down well with fans and the general public. But it has came good in the end when you consider the number of Belgian players in the EPL / Champs League and also how highly rated the Belgian squad were prior t the World Cup. Bringing this back to the topic at hand - i do think that Rangers still operate with a 'win win win' mentality and to an extent, i can appreciate that. But i cannot help but feel that perhaps there needs to be some sort of radical change made to the football operations at the club that will ring in benefits to the quality of youth players coming through and a significant improvement to the quality of the product on the park.
  18. Totally agree. How on earth that could be classed as an improvement for the Commonwealth Games is beyond me. Glasgow City council at it once again. Ibrox is also being used for the games and exactly what improvements have been made in and around our stadium exactly???
  19. I read that this leaked pic was of a childs top - hence the absence of 32Red.
  20. I have to say - I think Lafferty was one of those signings that a lot of folk wanted to work out, with him being (at the time) one of the main forwards for Northern Ireland and a Rangers fan. Much like the Healy signing to be honest. I think that may have also made Rangers seem like they may pay over the odds for his services. Wasnt worth the cash.
  21. Looking over the clip of his goals for Killie last season - I am quite impressed with some of his headed goals. Seems to be able to get good pace and direction from headers which isn't necessarily something I remember him for when he was last with us.
  22. And to think that McCoist wants to retain the full responsibility of signing players - this IS what we will get! Where's Nerlinger???
  23. Technically their antics fall into the section of "Glorification of racist murders or terrorists" on page 32
