  1. There is a train of thought that 'you cannot teach an old dog new tricks' and i think it applies here also. We all crave a new footballing outlook and youth system / policy etc. and there are numerous clubs that one can look at in envy to see how it should be done. But to me its clear that clubs who have developed in this way have came at the expense of new coaching and managerial personnel - which has kick started the process. I feel we are in the situation where if we retain the services of McCoist, McDowall, Durrant, Sinclair, Durie....then things will never change.
  2. Could this purchase of shares be due to Somers trying to position himself to be a candidate to receive some of the shares pro rata from a new share issues should this come to play? This would perhaps safeguard the club against other getting an opportunity to increase the shareholdings?
  3. MacLeod for me - I cant help but think for this guy to hold down a place in the team under McCoist and perform at the levels he has shown, its a remarkable feat! Just a shame his season ended prematurely.
  4. The first WC I watched was USA 94 and I still love seeing clips from that - some great games, goals, celebrations and football strips on show during that tournament! And who can forget the Oleg Salenko '5 WC goals in a single match'?? I am however, very excited about this WC despite not been too enthusiastic about the most recent few. There are some right good groups in that, especially Groups B and G - I feel they will be superb!
  5. How these guys can even imply that the fans hold some blame in this when they continue to receive their bonuses is completely despicable!
  6. I would expect King to make a statement later on once we have heard from Wallace. There needs to be more substance to all these statements. After the figures in the report - action is most definitely required!
  7. And to think that Easdale knew about the content of this yesterday and still questioned the loyalty of the fans! Shameful....just shameful!!
  8. I dont think that the reason they wont deal with us is about the uncertainty about the fans witholding monies - it will be a reaction to the recent press and actions about the club running out of cash. Ticketus were shafted previously, there is no way another provider will support us with a possible admin event occurring!
  9. Picked up a few points from the review from Twitter. What is strange is the main points regarding the season tickets has only developed recently - so what was present in the review that would have been identified / carried out over the remainder of the 120 days?
  10. Never got the honour of seeing Sandy play for us, but his dedication to Rangers Football Club has been admire from every Rangers supporter across the globe. Driving past Ibrox this morning was a somber experience - seeing the tributes that have been left in his honour - his loss will undoubtedly leave a void within the walls of Ibrox. It breaks my heart that he will never get the chance to see us return to the top. When we get back to where we belong, and we lift the Scottish Premier League title for the 55th - that will undoubtedly be for Sandy! RIP Sandy, in Royal Blue!
  11. Yeah i think that's what the author refers to when he mentions the 'Eddie' character. Reading the blog, it did appear to me that it sounded like a member of the 'obsessed loyal' having a call in to try and right the clear wrongs in the whole process. Does raise a wee bit of suspicion mind - something i had hoped the BDO or Police investigations may have required to progress....guess the fact that nobody has had visibility of these documents (?) may suggest these investigations aren't really progressing at all.
  12. Lifted from 200% (via newsnow)...
  13. What a nice character that Michael Fitzpatrick seems to be. I would hope that the relevant authorities are probing his comments.....but its doubtful!
  14. What I would find interesting is to understand some of the motivating factors that will affect the decision making of whether ST holders renew this year or not? On this forum, I have read a lot of supporters state that they will not renew - similarly on Twitter. However one of the major factors that will sway folks decision is the choice of Manager / Coaching staff. Personally i feel there has only been a few good performances from the team over the past few seasons and despite knowing it wasn't going to be an easy stroll back up to the top flight - a 'few' good performances given the expense of the squad and coaching compared to our current opposition is quite frankly - unacceptable. I would have thought this reason would be a catalyst for change but feel that this message may be lost amongst the board room struggles.
  15. I would have thought that Juve boss Conte would be in with a shout!
  16. Resolution 4 is rather interesting. Is this not what was effectively allowed to happen when we were heading into the newco route; with the individual clubs being given the decision to make as opposed to the SPL board itself? Also - am i correct in thinking this resolution could still prove to hinder us in our recovery if this is passed prior to us returning to the top flight?
  17. These are the things i like to see around our club! Must have been a great day for the children!
  18. The chucking of Stockbridge and Jack Irvine - although these were far too late and still never covered the board in glory IMO (Stockbridge payoff etc.)
  19. At the end of that clip with the assault on Diouf - i think you can make out Scott Broon clapping at Kayal after that tackle! Watching that clip gets me all anxious for us to get back to where we belong and can square up to them again and give them what for!!
  20. Completely agree - cant really believe Kayal is hitting out with this stuff to mask his own deficiencies in being able to break back into the Celtic first team. Dry your eyes mate!
  21. Have to say - it was amusing to see Griffiths looking glum in the crowd.....oh, and Rod Petrie also!
  22. First I have heard about this surprisingly enough.....(tongue firmly in cheek)
  23. Albertz has said in the press before that he was willing to get involved in this aspect for Rangers. Also remember Laudrup was getting spoken about taking on an ambassadors role for the club - although this was a Chuck 'moonbeam'! There's another two players who could possibly help in this area!
