  1. Why would Bain talk to an unknown journo? How could this twat possibly obtain Bain's number? Why is he the only one really 'investigating' our tax problem when major media outlets such as SSN don't report it at the present time? There's no doubting we could have a tax bill to pay, and I might be burying my head in the sand, but I'll call this bullshit since the source would only ever write shit that would interest the lowest common denominator of football fan.
  2. Gary Stevens wins this hands down for the best RB in my lifetime. Hutton wasn't here long enough and no other player stands out. My old man would go for Jardine and he'd also argue black & blue that he was better the Grieg.
  3. Ah, got ye MF. For leader to emerge, fan groups and representative organisations to need to work together. There's so many of them out there all wanting a slice of the pie that when any of them are challenged, one or two will dig dirt and air it on here or other forums. It's become fashionable to fling dirt instead of working constructively or reflecting on ourselves. I'd love an actual Gers legend to voice his concerns and ask the fans what you've suggested. Perhaps that would work?
  4. Is there anyone that could bring all bears together to actively show our grievances towards Murray and his disciples? We all know who's to blame so solutions are required to bring about either A) Murray actually sorts all the problems he created himself instead of bleeding the club dry. B) He hands over control to the RST (no jokes) where they could at least try and move forward with proper business men. C) he tells the truth about the tax bill and sells to Whyte. Bottom line, IMO, is we somehow walk on to Edinburgh and demand answers from 'The Mint'. Doing that in unison though is the hard part. Too much division in our support.
  5. Three spring to mind that were from my lifetime...Numan, Robertson and Munro. All three were very effective and all enjoyed success in very good Rangers teams. Munro was never really given the credit he deserved because of the talent in the squad. Today he'd be one of our top players. Robertson was frighting due to his pace. Not sure if I've saw a quicker FB in Scottish Football. He was an integral part of our attacking play - he should never have left! Numan, class act. When we signed him I made a point of watching all the Dutch games at France 98 and along with all the world class players in that side he was up there with all them. He wasn't just Holland's or Rangers best FB but one of the best in the world at the time. Easily in the top ten. Not only did he perform but he became a fan. Numan.
  6. There's still plenty out there who believe his guff.
  7. Fancy this article was wrote about a month ago and they decided to re-publish it to attract some readers. Nothing new in it. Wish we we could be told one way or another.
  8. If I may. I asked VB on RM a few months back if they thought they'd make a difference and one them said no, and that it wasn't really their aim. Their aim, as I see it, is to open Bears eyes to the lies that are being spouted about us fans and our club. I don't post on their site nor do I know any of them. However, I do enjoy some of their articles and I'm happy to see people batting for us. Your last point, we could say that about any of the organisations that fly the club's badge, yes?
  9. Read it this morning - super stuff.
  10. I'll keep that in mind when I'm over in October.
  11. But is it £44 million? Perhaps I'm being naive, however, I really don't see it being more than £10 million. I would also add that's the very worst fine, if there is one.
  12. I've felt this since day one of Muir's appointment. Isn't it coincidental that Muir comes in and Murray steps down? Jeez, even the likes of me have managed to say as much via the platform of the likes GN gives us.
  13. Without going off on one.....when talk of protest springs up, most mention the bank. Surely mass protest outside Murray's office would have the right effect?
  14. The past few years we've been fed all sorts of stories from the press, online 'sources' and the club itself regarding our financial position We've had Ellis then Whyte look seemingly close to a deal. only for both to disappear like it never happened. The past two seasons Walter has publicly stated the bank runs Rangers, yet we've been told by the club we have a minimum payment that's easily within our grasp. Now January comes, our top scorer is sold and there's no sign of the squad being strengthened. Last year, financially, was a good year with the debt going down and profit posted. This year should be even better given our improved performance in the Champions League! So, why are we unable to beef up the squad? Why do potential buyers appear then disappear? Why does Walter come and say the bank runs Rangers when Bain has told us we have a new working relationship with the bank, which includes a workable payment plan. Not sure of the exact figures, but half our squad, or more, will be out of contract or entering the last six months of their contract this time next year - why aren't we sorting this out now? It seems we wait until the last minute and receive a minimum fee that won't give us much leverage in the transfer market. What about the rumours of the rabid tim on the board of Llyods bank? Lego has alluded to him on a number of occasions as has some online bears. Surely if it were true Walter or the club would make a play on it? With all this going on the club has on numerous occasions this season warned fans about their behaviour. It seems to be a focal point as if it's important. If the club had any sense of loyalty they would, IMO, sound out all the other offenders in football, case in point Celtic. The yahoos seem to act with impunity and nothing bar the odd snippet is reported. I think you'd have to be naive to actually believe they're not writing letters, sending emails or faxing the football authorities about us, in their effort to deflect attention away from them. They do it very well too. Furthermore, where the hell is Murray? He's still the owner and, IMO, accountable to the fans, particularly ST holders. Slight rant and I've probably went of at a tangent, or I'm reading too much into what's going on at our club. However, does anything seem to make sense at Rangers? Nothing smells right at the moment.
  15. I'd rather see the money spent elsewhere in the squad. I know I can't say for certain, but I'm sure Jelavic will score the goals, as will the team by chipping in equally throughout the team. If Webster was to be given a chance or sort his attitude out, depends on what you believe, then I'd be more assured. Said it many times and I'll say it again, Bougherra is currently a liability. He clearly doesn't want to be here and his performances show that. I'm happy with the midfield now that injuries are clearing up and young Ness is showing great potential. My only other concern going forward is the team's lack of consistency. We seem to go from excellent to mediocre from on game to the next. The next six weeks will/could define our season. Every player needs to give it their all if they want to see CL football next season.
  16. Seems to be an ever growing number of them floating about. Not that they'll get in the way of sashaoke.
  17. Just need the date to be confirmed so as I can go about organising an epic sash-bash.
  18. Happy days. Should be a good day. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/irish/9368859.stm
  19. :sw::aw::sp: :vw::sd::jn::sn: :jf: :nj: Biggest decision is to whether I'd rest Boughie, who's been shit all year, or keep Webster in the side where he'll stick to his defensive duties. I'd like to see Fleck, Weiss, Naismith and Jelavic in the same side. Plenty of movement and pace that would cause any defence problems.
  20. Yeah, that would be about right. After a quick play about it would seem it wouldn't work. Would have to be very minimal with some extras added on to make any difference. Say average ST was £400 x 4000 new fans = £1,600,000 42k current ST averaging at £400 = £16,800,000 Knock £50 off the £400 and add the 4k fans to the current 42k ST holders = £16,100,000
  21. That's what I was thinking! Assuming ticketing for football comes under demand and supply law, in particular, elasticity of demand, then by lowering the prices could we fill our ground or gain more ST holders? We're around 42k ST holders, if we were to go cheaper could we attract another 4-6 thousand that would either increase ticket revenue or the same, but with more fans going through the gate other revenue would see a rise. Thoughts?
  22. As a player he definitely has something to offer, but all the stuff coming out of MP would lead me to believe we won't see him unless it's an absolute emergency. I'm probably a sucker for rumours though!
