  1. Wylde or Foster to replace him? I say Wylde. Thoughts?
  2. Don't know too much about Goodwillie and can only hope from what I read here and other forums that he's as good as made out. However, I'd much rather see the money spent on a defender. I was all for beefing up the midfield but seeing Ness hold his own and show signs that he'll a big player for us has changed my mind. New CB, please!
  3. I don't understand why McCourt and McGinn were sent letters, but Lennon? He drinks with the provos around West Belfast so in the context of NI and him being high profile, it's understandable why he was sent one.
  4. Usually points on the board but since they fooked up again, and I have a feeling they'll do it again soon, I'm reasonably happy with our position.
  5. Absolutely Frankie. From a professional point of view the club has to look forward and involve us in their strategy/decision making. Particularly if and when the club deals with representation bodies, there's no point in blaming Murray for what we're all too aware of what he's done. We do however, need to learn from the past for us to move on. Blasting Murray is okay if done in the right place like message boards, pub etc. The board or Walter will certainly never criticise Murray and I suspect any new owner, if we ever get one, will never do it either. In saying that, the only way we can ever really move on is when Murray's bought out and the club can make decisions without interference from the bank or parent companies'.
  6. Sobering, truthful and a damming insight into 'Mint Murray's tenure.
  7. Every stat between us and them regarding penalties, red or yellow cards and now cup draws always favours them, yet they continue to spout all their pish. Must be a massive mountain under their carpet with the amount of sweeping that goes going on.
  8. Kyle for me too. Caused Killie problems all night and scored a peach of a goal.
  9. More nightmare fixture pile ups, but is Bougherra really a miss? His form this season is awful.
  10. Signed. Nice to see someone's thinking outside the box.
  11. What are the main objectives on changing the current format? Is it to bring more money in or improve the standard of the game? I don't see either dong that. I would agree change is required but I'd rather see all this effort put into getting kids back into the game. The SFA should be setting up a school of excellence, moving into schools to coax the kids out of their fancy computer chairs and play the game.
  12. Looking at that way, then I'd go for a CB. Never harms to look at the long term.
  13. I'd look to the midfield first. Although Edu and Naismith are back soon at times we can go stale in the middle as they know their place isn't under threat. The Webster scenario is a weird one - good defender but is never fit and with all the 'rumours' of him being a bottle merchant it would seem he has no intentions of playing, if you're willing to believe them of course! Shame though, as he would be just what we need. Plus Bougherra's form isn't what it was when he arrived and Weir 'can't' go on forever.
  14. The £2 million being reported for Goodwillie, does anyone feel it'd be better spent elsewhere? Our defense looks weak and our midfield could do with solid competition.
  15. Quite often debates become point scoring exercises with peoples views being obscured in the mess.
  16. Well, considering we have only ever reached four European finals in our history it wouldn't be much worse than the rest. You then have to account for the Euro games under Smith, which is more due to CL participation, the ratio of games to wins takes that down again. If you want the this debate to continue why don't you try and back up your claims. You're making big claims about Walter's record in Europe being poor and spending too much on playing staff. Back up or back out. Zappa has already done one bit for you, which backs up my own search. Just Euro games against past Rangers managers' and to help evaluate him, I'd say against septic managers too. Probably a waste of post but maybe you'll back up your claims.
  17. No, I'll base my opinions on titles won. Obviously you know feck all but like to believe you do know something. Once you've done your research, remember, as I previously mentioned in this thread, to consider wages that we're now paying (less money = poorer quality), size of the squad, what calibre of players have left the club. You'll probably claim to know that as well.
  18. Net sale on players should be found in the club's annual report. They won't open for me maybe someone else will have more joy? http://www.rangerspedia.org/index.php/Rangers_Accounts
  19. Not answering the questions, Stevie? Enlighten me as to when Walter bottled it!
