  1. Meant to add that in terms of the attendance the nearest comparison we can make is when we played ICT in the same round and competition two years ago.

Result was 0-3 in front of a 28,033 crowd. That represents a fairly large drop given that game was also live on TV and on 31st October midweek.

Once again though, folk will have different reasons for not attending so any analysis is hardly of a scientific nature.

Also, we did play Airdrie in the Scottish Cup on Nov 1st last year in front of a 22,000 crowd.

A reduction of around 10-15,000 is quite a marked one and if we had a boardroom of note, they want to address that openly with fans.

Depending on what side of the fence bears are on will determine their reasoning for poor attendances. Any honest bear will concede that the board have the biggest impact on ticket sales.

Watching Sandy Easdale walk out of Argyle House yesterday on SSN will have disgusted many bears like myself. When he talked of it was nothing but contempt for every stakeholder in RFC.

  2. the other one is they're never in the middle of anything, they never own the stage, which is obviously the issue at Rangers, may not be such bad news if they had the financial capability at Rangers, but they need funding from elsewhere.

Good point. From a strategic perspective in the public eye both don't have a place. That said, I can see Ashley disposing of them when he feels they've served their purpose.

  3. Looking on the bright side, at least we're using nice shiny ice buckets or whatever they are to catch the drips and not dirty old buckets.

If I'm back in there I will not be using anything involving ice! Things like this opens up more questions.

  4. Not much there to disagree with. In the bigger picture protests etc are futile, even ridiculed in many quarters. Fan ownership will never happen without the gift from the club or wealthy benefactor but we can get to 25% which would help enormously. Two things prevent that IMO: 1. Ashley starts buying up every available share and acquires institutions shares. 2. Supporters willingness to get involved.

Weird thing is, which the Easdales or Green could never achieve, if Ashley actually wanted, he could fill Ibrox through his wealth in investing enough for us to win titles and get us regular European footy. Drop in the ocean for him but highly unlikely he cares for us, the media or anyone for that matter.

  5. Richard Wilson said on the wireless tonight that Ashley had signed an undertaking with the SFA not to increase his shares above 10% and not to have any influence on the board. Now he has already called for an EGM to remove 2 board members so it looks like he's breached that undertaking already

As of yet, he's not increased his holding above 10%, has he? The option's there but I doubt we'll see any issue now.

  6. Following some requests from members to introduce a £5 per month option to subscribe to BuyRangers we are pleased to announced that this option is now available.

Since being launched this morning (25/10/2014) we have been particularly busy and had many sign ups with many opting for the bigger amount.

There is also the option of a one-off payment of £125 available on our website as well.

  7. Ashley's deal has been apparently accepted by the club. So with a game today will we see a reaction from bears or the usual muted response we're accustomed to seeing?

Wallace is away, the Easdales don't travel away, so who's representing the club from an executive capacity? Andy fucking Cameron?

Chris's tweet: Sky reporting no Rangers directors to attend game today. Cowards have done their dirty work, no need to face the bears.

  9. Hopefully the article provides some light relief from the circus enveloping the club

Rangers’ fans from Northern Ireland have been travelling across to Scotland for their Rangers fix since 1870s and 1880′ through Ulster Protestant immigrants to Glasgow’s shipbuilding industry according to The Official Biography of Rangers Football Club. This appeared to lead into commercial trips with ferry companies of the time and later organised trips via supporters clubs after both world wars

  10. It all has a retro feel to it, with more than a hint of desperation thrown. I really don't see Ashley and friends letting this slip from their grasp at this late stage.

By the way, liked your article, mate. When is your club having it's 40th do next year?

No date as yet dude. Think your old mate Tommy's going to be asked to supply some players for a dinner and then we lossen our vocal chords.:D You'll be purchasing a limited edition anniversary polo then.:D

  11. It is a nightmare I agree, but I do not see King or Kennedy in it for personal gain.

King is a Bear who has his money made, even though some, mainly WizardBillMcMerlin (the ever hungry feeder at the red raw teat of Toxic Jack, that's when he can get in ahead of IRA lover and terminal Rangers hater Phil3names of course) and his lackeys would want to portray otherwise.

Kennedy is also a self made man and I believe he wants to protect Rangers from further pillage. I think he recognises what a huge loss an even further diminished Rangers would be to Scottish and European football. Souness is in the background here surely.

Ashley just wants OUR cash. Greed is good don't forget. Isn't it??

Wouldn't disagree with that mate. I'm not happy King's fucked off back to South Africa again when I'd rather he was in the trenches with supporters. I always mind 'the bunnet' camped outside the piggery rallying the filfth...and never backing down. Maybe social media's changed that need? I don't think it has. Kennedy's doing what he done in administration - half hearted bids.
