This is brilliant - arguments about football stuff! We really have turned a corner!

I don't think we're going to get the type of players we'd like, while we are in the Scottish Championship.

Should have been addressed by the new board on day one. No excuses as they had months of preparation to have everything ready to go.
So we employ a whole load of scouts before we bring in a manager - what if the manager thinks they are useless?

I'm on the fence. We aren't going to be getting any 1st choice keeper from a higher division in England and that level is still miles better than the SPL. That said, focusing on lower division English players will see us dumped out of the Europa League very early and as for the CL, I'm not sure I can envisage us ever getting to the group stages again. Everything in moderation and that should include players who are ultimately second (or more to the point third) rate English league players. Hopefully our future sees us implementing a global scouting network and developing our own players as you get very little value for money in England, nor do any of their decent players want to play here.
Maybe this years first team players will be next year's squad players?

You are not dealing with a normal fantasist here. Regarding his completely made-up story about King offering his shares to Ashley.
If both King and Ashley came out and said it was a lie and that there was absolutely nothing in it, Ill Phil (and his followers) would come out and say of course they are going to deny it in public etc etc and reiterate their story, having had the oxygen of a retort to fan the flames of their infatuated madness.
A watching brief from the club, waiting for him to make a libellous mistake and then jumping in, and all Rangers forums agreeing to not discuss or publish anything he says would be the best way to deal with him.
Ashley's not going to deny it - his PR people are paying the fantasist. Rangers probably can't say anything due to the gagging order.

Rangers fans seem to give him more publicity than he generates himself.
Nobody would read him if he didn't keep getting mentions on Rangers Fans websites, blogs and twitter feeds.

I think it's the opposite...it's to tidy up some of the nonsense that's floating about the internet regarding this security - one poster I read even suggested the security was because King had borrowed the money to buy his shares from sport scotland!

They should have ran the srticle past their legal people first - a security even in a default, doesn't give the holder any ownership rights, it only gives them the right to sell the property to recover the sums due to them.

I wouldn't worry about this - apparently it's common for SS to incorporate such deals and have similar in place with a range of SPFL clubs in terms of security on any monies they've provided.
It's bog standard.

Why would King ask Ashley to do something that Ashley can't do?

What's with this wearing jumpers in June?

Wilson is a good signing.
Getting an experienced keeper wont be easy but Mcgregor isn't having a good time at Hull and would surely be a good fit for 2 years.
I get the impression that Warburton doesn't fancy players who make as many headlines on the front pages as they do on the sports pages.

How many of them will actually be on a Saturday at 3pm?

Jackson said Pereira and McIness were ahead of him ..........................
I don't believe for a minute McIness was.
McInnes would have inspired a wave of utter apathy

TBH, even although he's a dodgy bugger, I think that would actually be a very popular appointment. A big name, experienced manager like that could sell a lot of season tickets!
It wouldn't work...him and King would be too busy comparing tax planning strategies!

Isn't baseball a much more individual game than football? It's the batter v the pitcher, it's not a team game in the same way football is, so I'm not sure this would work for us.

You really think that's a good idea? Do you think really Ashley will negotiate with King ? I fear Ashley will go for the nucleur option. He has nothing to lose and doesn't believe King has 5m (as do I)
The Loan agreement doesn't allow him to call in the loan just now, otherwise he would have, rather than trying to get it done through an EGM. there is no nuclear option for him.

I hope that's right. While I can't say I'm impressed by the two Dubyas (out of ignorance, you understand) the alternatives are a gloomy prospect.
But whoever it is I back them until proven duffers likewise the team.
We don't know who the alternatives are.

What is the loan agreement, no one seems to know.
Clearly Ashley does.

It's pretty obvious who raygun is.
yep, slightly less irritating than heretofore, but yep

So long as the Club sticks to the loan agreement they assets are safe. Why would it be demanded, as far as I can see he is asking shareholders if they want to continue with the present arrangement and all it entails and will abide by their decision, King on the other hand says he is not bound by shareholders decision at any ordinary resolution vote. Guess you failed interpretation at school the resolution is for repayment of the £5 million. Legally the directors are correct...they would not be bound by the resolutionPlaying Russian roulette with our assets is not in my opinion a wise move.

After being linked with the ex Porto manager, and someone who has done very well in England, it would be a huge kick in the teeth to get someone sacked from Bristol City after getting record defeats.
As I've said before the Bristol thing doesn't matter...building an SPFL team that keeps losing when it really counts is more significant.

I see, people are on the list who are still at other clubs yet the clubs haven't been spoken to, isn't that akin to tapping that is if we have spoken to these other candidates of course ? Tapping, of course not, that NEVER happens in football. You just speak to their agent instead.
Can you tell what the reason is that does not allow any lender with a loan that has no conditions or repayment date not to call their loan on demand, if they so wish. Are we to believe that Ashley and his battery of accountants and legals have loaned money that they cannot call if they see fit and have effectively given away for security that they cannot call, I do not believe that for one moment.
If the money was repayable at the moment, then it would have been demanded. The method being used by Ashley indicates that the loan agreement, doesn't get him what he wants just now.

No chance whatsoever of selling 45K ST's.
If you read the Q&A , It is obvious he doesn't expect to sell 45, 000 season tickets, it is a target in the sense that he would love to sell that many, but it's not an expectation. Doesn't every club target a ground full of season ticket holders, without believing they'll ever actually manage it
