Something I don't want to be hearing, a stepping stone. “Managers are ambitious and the better managers also see managing a team like Rangers as a window into the English Premier League.”
King Q&A Telegraph. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/rangers/11661269/Rangers-news-Dave-King-pledges-clearout-as-11-players-are-released.html
You may not want to hear it - but that is the reality of Scottish football today.

What Celtic are doing, and doing exceptionally well it has to be said, is identifying top quality prospects from all over the place, buying them for peanuts and moving them on for a handsome sum as soon as they can. They are now every bit as much a selling/feeder club as Dundee Utd or Hibs. That is their future; downsizing and bargain basement shopping.
They are actually pretty hit and miss, the big sales that generate the headlines disguise the fact that they've signed quite a few over the past 2/3 years that have pretty much disappeared.

Why would you take advice on which manager to choose from WS? He thinks ally is a good manager.
Really worried now. That shortlist is terrible. Pieria is already out so scrap his name and it's Warburton or one of the old boys club. Blue room with parks and co will push for Davies in my opinion. Hope it's not any of them that would be a complete disaster
We don't know who is on the shortlist...other than WarBurton and Piera, it is all newspaper speculation. The leaks all seem to have dried up

If McLeish is a serious contender then I will immediately lose any respect for our board. I would sooner buy a Mike Ashley Rangers top than go back to Ibrox to watch another McLeish Rangers team. McLeish is just the archetype Scottish dinosaur. Plays awful football, players out of position, poor tactically, terrible at identifying players. He should just stick to coaching because he seems to sometimes do ok inititally with someone else's players. After that though it's just brutal and some of our fans must have amnesia to want him back. By the end it was just miserable being a Rangers fan with him as manager. If he was signing Maniero, Mladenovic and Ostenstad with the huge resources he had at his disposal (we were cost cutting but we were still spending a fortune in relation to Scottish football) then god knows what he would sign now.
Pete said if he was made manager he wouldn't be back, perhaps joking, but I definitely would not be back until he left. He is the antithesis of what we need, just like the succession of dinosaurs we have had ever since Advocaat (apart from PLG).
The article said he had not been contacted...tends to suggest he is not a candidate, serious or otherwise.

No I want them to have picked a manager who can pick the team, although that goes against what King said about employing a coach and not a manager.
That's what they are doing.

People expect after 3 months a pro-active board to be running the club, after all there is said to be no lack of funds to facilitate such actions by the board.
So you want the Board to pick the team?

Hibs already signing players, what are we doing apart from waiting for information on anything and everything.
act in haste repent at leisure!

Foster was sometimes good going forward, but he was a very poor defender. Seb Faure was better at right back defensively than Foster was and that's not even the Frenchman's natural position.
Was Faure ever actually played in his natural position?

proper coaching, proper training, proper tactics, proper team selection and a professional approach from the manager and his staff can make a difference to players. I have a horrible feeling that some of the guys who have done so badly for us will do quite well for other clubs.

The only one I'd have kept is Lee Robinson simply because he's a better keeper than Bell (not difficult I know). I'd have given him another years deal.
The thought of Bell being our only keeper is scary
Even Scott Gallagher was a better keeper than Bell!

So are our last three managers.
That's why we want better. And being pedantic McCall's not unemployed..he had a leave of absence from his job with the SFA.

I wanted him instead of McCall. Pretty certain he would have got us up. Miles ahead of the usual SPL dross we have.
Davies is so good he's unemployed.

Yes, it's not just us. Celtic have signed a lot of SPL players who haven't looked very good. Derek Riordan being a prime example. Top scorer in SPL history after Boyd and Larsson (might be McDonald now), wasn't even an out and out striker and was technically decent but was awful at Celtic. Came back to Hibs and looked the same player again.
You can see how poor the SPL is by looking at where the SPL clubs get their players from. We're talking bottom end English players. One of ICT's best players Marley Watkins came from the 7th division in England!
It is down to temperament... they are good players, but not everyone can handle the pressure of playing for Rangers or Celtic.

I thought Billy Davies was a good shout and could get a decent quality of player from England but his name has not been mentioned recently.
Billy Davis causes havoc wherever he goes.

I initially was quite keen on McInnes. Though I have completely changed my mind. I don't want us going near anyone who has only looked decent in Scotland. After McLeish, McCoist, KMD and McCall it's absolutely compulsory that we get someone in who is proven at a decent level. McInnes lost 32 games at Bristol City, I would pay closer attention to that than how he performed in the joke league that is Scottish football. Although McCall's last season ended very badly, he did pretty well in his other seasons and we have seen how poor a manager he is. Someone with English or continental experience is a must.
I don't think we need to look at McInnes record in England - I don't think his record with Aberdeen is good enough. He has built a team that tends to lose the games that really count - all four league games against Celtic this season, the League Cup semi fin al against Dundee Utd, and the Scottish Cup tie against Dundee. Last season, although they won the League Cup, they got beaten in the Scottish Cup semi final, with an easy final in sight (Celtic were out) and they lost at home against Motherwell on the last day in the game that decided who would take second place. His record with more resources than anyone else in the Division bar Celtic isn't all that impressive. I don't know enough about Bristol's situation to say if his record there was good or bad, it may be that the they didn't have the financial resources to compete with the other teams in the Division, but I don't think it matters - his record with Aberdeen isn't good enough to suggest that he would do a good job for Rangers.

After reading that I've now got an image in my mind of McCall and McCoist doing a Karaoke duet!
The stuff of nightmares!

Complete aberration of a statement, nothing like throwing our own to the wolves.
He's not ours anymore

Was there any investigation into the yahoos behaviour at Dundee, Hertz & Motherwell ? There won't be any investigation here either. It wasn't our supporters so they will not do anything
Did they invade the pitch?

Pathetic, as expected. Dignified silence is back!!
Hung Mohsni out to dry and never targeted the instigator. McCall tore Mohsni apart on radio without having even seen the incident. Clearly he thought little of the player, and was happy to deflect away from his own disgraceful team selection and tactics which seen him fail to win his 10th game out of 17 attempts, in the second tier of Scottish football, following a second defeat to a team who had conceded almost 70 goals in the season yet we waited 70 minutes to have a shot on target.
Yes, lets all jump on the blame Bilel bandwagon. It is easier than admitting we royally fecked up a great position to get promotion. Thanks for your efforts wee man, but dont let the door hit your arse on the way out.
There is no way the Club could defend a player who kicks and punches an opponent like that.

does anyone really believe there will be an investigation into the Motherwell supporters' behaviour?
There will be an investigation - and Motherwell will run the all reasonable steps defence. It's worked for us often enough in the past with the Scottish authorities.

I 've been told 100% he wont get the Job , usual sourcec
I heard the same thing from a Motherwell source.

McCall wants to stay !!! What is it with these management failures that they just cannot accept that they just don't have it?

Rangers: Stuart McCall wants to lead Ibrox club next season
Stuart McCall wants to stay as Rangers manager following a 6-1 aggregate defeat by former club Motherwell in the Premiership play-off final.
The 50-year-old took over from Kenny McDowall in March on a contract until the end of the campaign.
"It's been tougher than probably most people could have imagined," he told BBC Scotland.
"To keep everyone together and galvanise everyone, I think we've done a decent job."
Two defeat by the Fir Park club - who McCall left in November - has consigned Rangers to a second season in the Championship.
Rangers were chasing a two-goal deficit after Thursday's 3-1 first-leg loss at Ibrox, but second-half strikes from Marvin Johnson, Lionel Ainsworth and John Sutton gave Motherwell another comfortable win on Sunday.
"Motherwell were the better team over the two legs without a doubt, but three of the goals are deflections and sometimes you need a bit of lady luck," said McCall.
"If we'd got the first goal with a deflection it'd have been a completely different game.
"We wanted to take it into the last 20-30 minutes, but the first goal kills us."

The Rangers board now have to decide whether to keep McCall, who has won seven and drawn six of his 17 games in charge.
"I would say my three strengths as a manager are recruiting, improving people and getting the best out of them," added McCall, who won six titles as a player at Ibrox.
"That's what Rangers will need next season, whoever the manager is, and it's a fantastic opportunity for anyone.
"The recruitment's going to be key. My record will show that I can recruit players and improve them and my past record will show that I can get the best out of people.
"The club can do a Hearts [who romped to the Championship title] next season, with the right recruitment and the right coaching.
"Twelve months today, Rangers can be back in the top flight. I've no doubt about that."
He had a go...but it is clear he doesn't have it. We needed to score goals today, so who does he play up front...Miller and Boyd and how many goals have they scored this year?

Ramsdens and league cup,An oppertunity for the players on the fringe as you say.
Perhaps we could target doing something in the Scottish(if we are anything like it)
I'd only bother about the Scottish Cup if we are well ahead in the League when the first round comes round.

Getting rid of the one's that have contracts won't be easy. Is there an up to date list of whose contract expires when?Seriously, you would keep most of the players we've got ?0

Pretty simple..there are people on the list who are with other clubs, but Rangers haven't spoken to their clubs as yet. Ashley wants his money back, but for some reason the Loan Agreement doesn't allow him to demand this at the moment, so he's trying to get it back in a roundabout way, at the same time , costing the club money and trying to make life a bit awkward for the new board.
