  1. Paul67 is missing the point, without Rangers to block the vote the Gang of 10 can do what they like to Celtic. They are not doing this to save Rangers, they're doing it because they want the money Rangers bring. If this plan doesn't succeed, they will they will have even more reason to "exploit" Celtic. Celtic supporters wanted us destroyed, they were too stupid to realise their own club would be collateral damage.
  2. I don't understand why he's asking for evidence of ownership of Ibrox etc before submitting am offer. Normally an offer would be conditional on the seller demonstrating he had title before the completion date.
  3. If he wants to find out who owns Ibrox etc he can get a solicitor to check the Land Register - a search only costs about £5
  4. I'm not looking forward to the next couple of days.
  5. I've no problem with him leaving, it's human nature, but I do have a problem with his statements, which only help the "death of history" brigade. I don't think Green has dealt with this issue at all well. He is wrong about TUPE. The whole thing has become a PR nightmare, when it didn't need to be.
  6. I think Stranraer are an unincorporated association (club) as well.
  7. The SPL/SFL does need sorted out, the current structure isn't working, but it is not something that can be rushed through. I understand that the SFA have been working on something following on from the McLeish reports.
  8. With everything else that Murray got wrong, it's probably too much to hope that he got the paperwork for the SPL/SFA right.
  9. There's a bigger game afoot and Longmuir may well just be trying to obtain the best deal possible for the SFL and it's clubs. I believe some people see the current problems regarding Rangers as a chance to reorganize all of Scottish Football for the better. This isn't really the place to discuss it, but I've long thought that the SPL should have 14 teams with a 6/8 split, with two teams going down. A 14 team SPL2/Div 1 with an 6/8 split, 1 team up automatically and 2,3,4 & 5 playing for the other place in the SPL. 2 teams down automatically A regionalised SFL with play offs to decide which teams go into the SPL2/Div 1.
  10. I think her'd be well advised to avoid the UK, just in case the Murray Group loses the BTC and HMRC start chasing the individual beneficiaries for the tax!
  11. One of the worrying things about all of this, is that I'm not convinced that Ally is all that good a manager!
  12. Before Whyte arrived things were difficult but not impossible, the Club was paying its way. Whyte engineered this situation. He increased our overheads by giving unsustainable increases to a number of players, a big chunk of the season ticket money went to ticketus causing cash flow problems, he was working towards liquidation from the day and hour he got involved in the Club. Up till then the Club had been getting by.
  13. they may vote no in the expectation that enough clubs will vote yes, that we'll get back in!
  14. players and paying wages they couldnt afford. When did the Club buy players and pay wages it couldn't afford?
  15. Enjoy the time Mazza, my oldest has just finished sixth year at High School and I am feeling very old!
  16. it wasn't random, the EBT left us vulnerable, Whyte saw his chance and Lloyds TSB saw their chance to get rid of what was a fairly soft loan (from their point of view) and to get some money in from part of the struggling Murray Group.
  17. The BTC involves the whole Murray Group and not just Rangers, so the result is still important to HMRC
  18. It does seem to suggest that Whyte had a plan, which failed miserably. Just our luck, not only is he a chancer, he's an incompetent chancer.
  19. When you take into account that the running costs are coming out of the £8.5 million and the other bidders were going to fund those costs on top of their bids, this doesn't look to be such a good bid afterall.
  20. The longer this goes on the more I worry that we won't survive this at all.
  21. the negative pledge wouldn't apply because Lloyds were getting their lending repaid. Negative Pledges are designed to stop borrowers obtaining further loans from other lenders to the detriment of the first lender.
  22. just answered my own question - according to the HMRC website, employers are required to keep records for the current and the past three years PAYE etc. So it is possible that anything before that may have been shredded.
