This week has been very well engineered by Rangers. We all know a lot of our fans were impatient to the verge of setting up a witch hunt directed towards Mister Whyte already because of free transfers that we were obliged to go for went elsewhere. Now in the space of 48 hours we have tied up two of our most important players on what are very long contracts with very big wage rises, and it looks like davis will sign. We have brought in our new Spanish lad, and more significantly the official Rangers site has mention big Carlos in two separate columns, once with Ortiz saying Carols told him how great a club we are, then him pleading with Carlos to come back to us. Rangers would NOT have made an issue of those factors unless something serious was going on. All in my own opinion of course. Then today we have the Glasgow Herald spread on Craig Whyte telling the World we will not be bullied about the sectarian issue and employing this company to act as our body guard. it gives you a great lift when stuff like this happens

I forgot about that game!! he was my fav player as a kid, even over Davie Cooper.

The thing that jumps out at me about this lad is he can obviously tackle, run with the ball and deliver good crosses. that is a great quality for a footballer to have and can only make us a stronger attacking unit along with a guy that will put his foot in. Good news for us.

Lets be honest, the staff at Ibrox know we need defenders and i am sure they are onto a few. The way things have turned out we have been able to tie up the two current players and this Spanish lad became available when he did, so, we got him asap before someone nicked him. We're by no mans the finished article, i just like the way this day has been engineered to happen like it has. There's a good bit of mind games going on there from G51 towards our detractors I think it's going to take us from 4-8 years till we are really a stable financial institution being able to compete at a higher level for players. Obviously that can change in an instant, but as it stands now it's how i personally see the future for Rangers.

To add to that i feel we removed a money from our bak, we are no longer a "selling club" as we had two prime pieces of footballing talent that we could have sold for good money.

In my opinion today has been planned. there is no coincidences with the two lads signing long terms deals, the Spanish lad flying in then old harry Redknapp saying on SSN live that we are in for two loans from his club. it has pissed on a lot of fires of our hates and the fans with in our own support that think CW is at it. He has obviously been working very hard behind the scenes and i for one congratulate him for giving us all a great lift. long may it continue

STV Grant jsut tweeted me to say they got the head up about the spanish lad through twitter, they then went into overdrive to get quotes from his club and Rangers. fair play to him for being so honest. The STV lot are the best informed on Twitter IMO, they are not often wrong and do interact with the punters.

I personally recall Trevor becoming the UK's highest paid player on 10k a week. That also reflected his reputation as the UK's best player who would have befitted any top CL team. We're now talking about 20k for players who are targets for the likes of Cardiff City and Bursaspor. Even now, I'd bet the wage bill is around double that of the Souness era. If nothing else I'm sure it is still now higher but with about half the playing staff. Would you care to compare the standard of player? To me it's a bit like saying you're happy with the price of a tank of petrol compared to 20 years ago and would still be if the quality was dramatically reduced and the size of the tank halved. Tell you something, I'm not happy with it. Doesn't mean I can do much about it but people trying to justify it doesn't make me feel any better about it either. he was on �£27K mate
