It seems that the powers that be only listen to the fans on one particular subject. Scottish football has been a laughing stock for years but this has got to be the craziest idea I have ever heard.

Simply stating what everyone knew already.

It baffles me that the SFL would even consider such a proposal. Instead of listening to the fans they have decided to complicate things even further. Sad, tragic, pish!!

Absolutely no chance. He's had his time. He did well for us during his second spell at the club but we should be looking to younger players not going back to the likes of Miller and Boyd.

I don't blame Alexander for turning it down but at the end of the day we should not be paying players 10 grand a week while we are in the SFL.

I prefer Hutton and Macleod in the middle of the park. There seems to be a better balance about the team.

We don't need to be spending £10 million on players. Good Bosman's are all we need when we climb the leagues. First thing we need is two decent centre backs. Don't want to see expensive signings stunting the progress of our young players.

Very interesting comments about the possible Ibrox name change.

Superb piece again mate.

It's a very strange one this. I think this has been purely engineered by the SPFA because they know that Green will win the case against the players who walked away.

I found it a bit low to be honest. We shouldn't worry about what Jock Stein did or didn't do. The book should be about celebrating the life and career of a Rangers legend and how he was so shabily treated by the club at the end of his time at Ibrox not about what the manager across the city was or wasn't doing.

All he had to do was transfer over - he choose not to. Very disappointing from a so-called fan. Also noted a mistake in the first couple of paragraphs. Broadfoot transferred over. Don't lump him in with the rest of them.

McMurdo is 100% right in what he is saying. I will never forget the service and commitment to the cause Richard Gough gave during his time at the club. I strongly disagree with his views but that's neither here or there.

Haha good luck with that. In all seriousness though I think Utd will sell more tickets than they usually do to home supporters but it won't be enough to fill their stadium. Problem is for other fans is that if we continue to boycott, which I think we should, are the fans of other clubs going to contiunally club together to help our sides out? I think we all know the answer to that one.

Gough's entitled to his opinion the same as everyone else is on the subject. I just think his opinion is wrong.

They can keep their money as far as I'm concerned. They won't fill their ground anyway. It's unfortunate that we have had to take this stance but as far as I'm concerned it's the right one.
This is the same Trust that stated they would boycott their own club if we were allowed into the SPL. Selective memory on their part......or maybe the SPL clubs have been boycotting their own clubs from the start of the season. It's certainly shown in their attendances

We are certainly not bending the rules. The transfer embargo ends on August 31.

how do celtic manage it then? they have more than one on at least 25 grand and can handle it no problem.
Because they are bringing in far more money commercially than we are. They also market the club a helluva lot better than we do.

Sounds pretty good. I would prefer a longer league season but if we are playing in Europe and the League Cup games are played at the start of the season it would give us the chance to rotate the squad and blood some young players.
Winter break is a must. I'd have a month from the middle of Dec to middle of Jan.

ive never known rangers fans to think long term. quite the opposite in fact.
We have got three years of planning before we get into the top flight again so everything we do now has to be geared up for that.

i wont be complaining but people must know what the rangers support is like.
to be fair we had a wage cap under sdm laterly but it was high enough to win 3 in a row.
i dont really believe green will be about long enough to find out but hes probably got about 5 years grace to win the top division before the grumbling starts and if celtc start approaching ten in a row it will be more than grumbling.
I think a wage cap is something we have to look at. In fairness as we climb the leagues the cap will increase but we should not be paying players anymore than £20k a week. Its simply not sustainable while we play in Scotland.
I take your point about our support grumbling though. We alo have to think long term as well.

Can also turn it round and say we will never allow ourselves to get into the kind of financial mess that we have been in over the last 12 months.

You meaning Hegarty? He can't do any worse than our experienced centre back. Hegarty has looked very good in the matches he's played. If you're good enough, you're old enough.
I think Hegarty has looked better than Perry since he's came into the team. Hopefully he can develop with an experienced older head beside him. When hegarty and Cribari played against Inverness it was like they had never trained together never mind played together.

McCulloch and Hegarty in centre of defence for the foreseeable future.

The real comparison would have to be our figures against the Tims. That would show that we are averaging higher than them even in the Third Division.
Their average is 125,181 - ours is 145, 428. Says it all really.
