I think we have to learn to box clever when it comes to our songbook. No-one loved belting out The Billy Boys more than me but if the song, and others like it, damage the club then we have to stop it. As long we don't mention anything that relates to FTP, paramilitary organisations and ****** B's then no-one can touch us.

Curious, though, that you think Hutton and Stevens were that close. The only competition I could see for Stevens at RB would have been Sandy Jardine. With Hutton, he'd beat anyone to the by line, but then would be as likely to put the ball into the stands as into the box.

Spot on about Stuart McCall. So under-rated. I thought he should have been made captain for the 10IAR season when Gough went off to America. Couldn't understand why Advocaat didn't try and keep him as he had another 2 or 3 seasons left in him.

During the last couple of seasons of the 9 in a row era we actually played three at the back so if Laudrup played religiously on the right or the left wing he would have had to play wing back. Laudrup always played off the striker in a free role.

Instead of looking over at the riches on offer we should be looking at leagues in countries that are of similar size to ourselves, see what they are doing to make their football more attractive to fans and sponsors and take it from there.
