  1. ... he missed worse and scored better. Neat play overall, just the final third problem all over again.
  2. Some neat crosses into the box, where Dessers has 5 to 6 defenders next to him ...
  3. Youngsters ... we should go into a club partnership or two, maybe a low-key German second or even third tier side, loaning players to them and having a few of theirs, for six month stints or the like. If we can't offer them proper competitive football and sport education, they will go the way 8 out of 10 Scottish "talents" have gone for the last 3 or 4 decades ...
  4. Be that as it may, the governing body swoons all over "financial fair play" though, but does very little either. At least with those "establishment" clubs.
  5. Maybe they wouldn't want to bother us with these meagre stats ... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rabbi-matondo/leistungsdaten/spieler/404384
  6. I would assume that there are very few (big/first tier/great) clubs on this planet who rake in any sort of "profit" or write black numbers. Some of the Portuguese "South American player-import and sell them on" teams like Porto, maybe. Or those profiting on the odd insane transfer fee paid for this or that player, possibly securing them financially for a season or two (essentially what we did with Scottish football's lesser lights in the 1990s and early 2000s). I know what you mean, though.
  7. The Archie Knox channel has a ton of Rangers songs from the old days, btw.
  8. The Legend of Alan Morton He was a proud young Airdrie lad, Alan Morton was his name. He played for Glasgow Rangers, the left wing was his game. The Ibrox crowd, we loved him so, we cheered him loud and long. And every time he scored a goal, we sang him ‘Follow on.’ And every time he scored a goal, we sang him ‘Follow on.’ Now Alan played his heart away in the Rangers’ Royal Blue. And then one famous Saturday, in Scotland’s darker hue, Young Alan laid the English low, the legend it was born, And every time he scored a goal, we sang him ‘Follow on' And every time he scored a goal, we sang him ‘Follow on.’ At least that is the story my father told to me, He said ‘My son when you’re a man, will you do one thing for me, Each Saturday down Ibrox way, though Alan’s dead and gone, Every time the Glasgow Rangers score, will you sing them: ‘Follow on!’ Every time the Glasgow Rangers score, will you sing them: ‘Follow on!’ Every time the Glasgow Rangers score, will you sing them: Follow on!?
  9. Back in 2008, I collected a fair number of Rangers songs and put them together in a PDF file. I think the board allows sharing it, You will find most of the songs on MCs, CDs, or, of course, the internet ... The Rangers Songs Ib.pdf
  10. ... his carrier pigeon was late?
  11. As long as it is not another project for someone who - for some reason - hasn't figured out why his predecessors failed time and again or needs 6 months to settle ...
  12. And they had far worse in not so long bygone days of ours. Aside from police evidence disappearing ...
  13. These two are females, but you may call him the "Cantwell Wrecker", or our bogeyman.
  14. EDIT: That is double their and our normal average. Service resumed.
  15. Good winger (sic!), who IMHO became frustrated with his fellow attackers of late, hence he tried too much on his own. I think he has the quality that goes with his asking price (well, 21st century and all that), 17 goals and 7 assists is what you expect from a winger. Essentially this season's Sima. We could build a squad with him, but, like much of this season, not depending on him. We will have to wait and see what the near future holds, though.
  16. Cometh the time, cometh the thread.
  17. Last time I gave this fixture a wide berth, we won and I had the pleasure of watching the old and (by now new) German ice-hockey champions in action. No ice-hockey any more, as the season is over now. Still, no interest in seeing this incarnation of a Rangers team against the - for various unsavoury reasons - "dominant" force in Scottish football. There's a neat German saying for a very unexpected outcome: "I've seen horses vomit in front of the pharmacy!", yet, if we show up like we did of late, and they play at 75 % of their capabilities ... There's a point where a team and combined management over the season has used up all the considerable credit one can give them. I still hope that those who venture there and those who watch it have a great day.
  18. They have a knack of torpedoing their league campaign late in the season. Two weak results at the most inopportune time, and that's that.
  19. While I agree to much of what is being written above, would anyone talk about the professionalism of those who run the club had Clement (like his predecessors) stopped playing that awful 4-2-3-1 against anyone, utilized his squad to its full capacity including Cantwell, Hagi et al this and last season? No matter who "runs" the club, or how much money is invested (Leeds?), if the guys on the sidelines can't hack it, and the players on the field do not perform consistently at the demanded level, a club is doomed to failure.
  20. Teams have a knack to sell us people who are simply too weak to play a few months of football on the trot. Reckless fouls aside, in my 40odd years I have not seen that many (important and/or expansive) players getting injured - or fall apart - like during the last 4 or 5 seasons. And I doubt it is simply down to fitness training and coaching.
  21. Any good news on this after the Old Firm game, please. We might be in dire need for good news by then.
  22. ... I sense of humour in there. Speaking of which, the most talented - and notorious - "cabaret artist" / satirist in Germany is Austrian lass Lisa Eckhart. You'd have to find English versions yourself, though ...
  23. ... or the players simply ignore what is demanded of them to play at this club. Not least after most incentive is gone. Going by the last few games, only Hagi, Raskin, and Dessers seem to have the drive required, but have to cope with the rest. Whether Jefte, Igamane and Diomande actually understand what is demanded of them is anyone's guess. Cerny sure gives as good as he's got, but more often than not, he over does it. As it stands, and this is just a repeat of what has been said quite a lot, we have a rather dire pool of players, in terms of quantity of quality. And what they lack in quality, most can't make up in determination, strengths of character, or ambition. Which has been a strength of seasons past. It is going to be some task to stop them grabbing 56, no matter how many tainted titles are included in their "records".
