Iron Drone has a 90% hit rate, I’ve not got a video I could upload but I’ve seen them in action on a news channel.

Iron Dome ... has so far only been tested against a certain number of targets. When Hamas started to fire all they got, gaps appeared. Which is rather normal. Likewise, you have to have enough ammunition for each system. Patriot missiles register with about one million dollars each. They are good for certain targets, but if the airspace is being flooded with slow flying drones, cruise missiles and the like, the system might go off against minor targets. As we have seen in that first big attack on Kiev, where they launched the full load of 30odd missiles in automatic mode (basic two missiles per target), hitting next to nothing, before the Kinzhals wiped them out.

  2. If Clement expected St. Mirren to play like they did, he did everything well. Only that I doubt that. We essentially put a 7-man defence in front of Butland, and of the three attackers, only Wright and Dessers did their job. The game completely passed Cantwell by, mainly because he is just roving about. Wouldn't be surprised to see him subbed at HT.

Well it depends on what version you get the 1980’s  patriot version is far poorer than the 2003 edition as the Iraq-Kuwait shows that in the Iraqis scud missiles were far less spectacular than originally claimed.

Also not to mention the 9-12 seconds it takes to become effective from launcher.

Well, just have a look at these cool Patriots from 2018 ...

Are you looking for a reply that suits you? The question was answered before. To get two sides of the story, you may have to dig into East German history. And I mean not the history as presented by the West before and especially after the "fall", but the one presented by the East. Audiatur et altera pars. Then you will be able to see things from both sides, if you want to.

Most people, including ourselves, live in a world of relative ignorance. We are even comfortable with that ignorance, because it is all we know. When we first start facing truth, the process may be frightening, and many people run back to their old lives. But if you continue to seek truth, you will eventually be able to handle it better. In fact, you want more! It's true that many people around you now may think you are weird or even a danger to society, but you don't care. Once you've tasted the truth, you won't ever want to go back to being ignorant. (Socrates)

Der Berliner said that this question has been answered before and my train journeys are not long enough to read through all 400 pages to check this. ;)3

Haha ... don't get him going on Socrates, folks! He likes that chap!

Will it be the party line, protection against fascism?

Come on, it has been spelled out before. It was Cold War at its very height. You will know that.

And on that note the matter ends and with no small degree of clarity.

Ach well ... I assume you don't want to derail the thread on purpose, but are genuinely interested. Still, I replied and don't think more is needed. I spent quite a few hours on this thread explaining East German viewpoints and facts, from my experience and that of people I know. No amount of silly or snide comments by those long on my ignore list will change these views. Yet, I am tired of giving - again - long explanations on topics discussed before, being rewarded with either a smiley or some nit-picking on this or that piece of info, while - on the face of it - ignoring or overlooking much of what has actually been written. Right now, I haven't got the time nor the will to discuss it all over again. A few hundred pages ago, we went through this with forlanssister, methinks, so have a look.

I occasionally dip into that cyberspec news channel you suggested and to pretend that is even remotely unbiased is laughable.

And to my point, the post presented asserted that it was a Ukrainian missile but I’ve yet to see conclusive evidence.

"Cyberspec News" is one of the more moderate, one to get more info than you get in Western MSM. If you want some more "biased" ones, "Intel Slava Z", "Slavyangrad" or "DD Geopolitics" are the prime choices. Still, they give you lots of various info and more than others. They'll sure give you another angle on many matters. "Weeb Union" (same guy as the YT channel) is also rather neutral, even though he forwards most stuff, rather than writing it on his own. "UKR LEAKS_engl" would be another information source. And if you want a dip into all things Nazi Ukraine, "Heil Ukraine" is the one to look at. Usually just collecting things gathered straight from the Ukrainians themselves.

As for the missile, doesn't the pictures explain themselves? If you follow these channels, they provide you with interesting quotes from the Ukrainians, who go bananas about Russian strategic bombers like Tu95s and Tu-22s taking off. You can guess where that info is actually coming from. It is known what type of cruise missiles they carry, or what else is coming Kiev's way ...

Missile attack of the Russian Aerospace Forces on Kiev and Kharkov.

A powerful missile attack of the Russian Aerospace Forces on the Ukraine is underway.

Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 are operating in the sky. Two groups of rockets have already been launched.

    Iskander launches were also detected.

Repeated arrivals in Shostka (where the "Impulse" plant was struck last time) and Pavlograd are reported. We are waiting for new information...

Following Shostka and Pavlograd, strikes were carried out on Kiev and Kharkov (there is also information that the airfield in Starokonstantinov received another batch of missiles). Iskanders traditionally arrived in Kharkov (as well as in Pavlograd) with KR X-101's arriving in Kiev. According to local channels, there are arrivals, plus the crooked air defense forces of the Armed Forces of the Ukraine "struck back" somewhere. Thank God, there seem to be no casualties. Looks like Shostka later got some Kh-22/32's.

There are reports of an attack on the Mirgorod airfield.

Except the reason for building the wall.

    Why was reunification permitted?

Stop now, wrong thread! And truth be told, I am pretty sure we spoke about it before. You got your answers, and I won't go on about "reunification".

  9. Dessers - like most others before him - needed some time to adjust and does rather well. He's our only real striker though, who knows how much time Silva has to get going. Alas, we now have a squad that scores goals and does not rely on a Morelos, Colak etc.. All goals were well taken and Lawrence's IMHO should have stood.

A few miss-haps in defence apart, this was a very sound performance. Lundstram covered the DM role excellently, clear MOTM performance. Anyone coming on did well too; you clearly see a difference between Matondo and Wright, as the former was rather erratic with his shooting, while the latter had two rasping efforts saved. Sterling will become a very important player for us, I just wonder where Diomande will play ...

    All in all, very sound.

Em, okayyy….  What I was asking is how @Idisi is able to distinguish this particular missile type vs the one in question.   Is there no possibility of it being another missile type? If so, how do we know?

I don't think he was? The source he used did that. Again, I can only suggest to you and other interested parties to grab your smartphone, get Telegram and check out the various channels. I know you are all grown up enough to be able to distinguish fact from fiction, the amount of facts available there - surely censored by your MSM / politicians elsewhere - will make you ask questions of what you are being presented. If you have Telegram, I'll give you a list of channels that are rather neutral or unbiased.

    Look at the pre-wall numbers.

Again, why did you build the wall? Don’t skip the question again.

I didn't skip anything. The pre-wall stats are interesting, lots of people from the Eastern part of former Nazi Germany (what is now Poland, but also the Czech and Slovak the Republics) were still settling and/or moving about. And many of those were indoctrinated by the anti-Soviet sentiment of the wartime era. High time of McCarthy etc. in your parts of the world. Big bad evil communists. Likewise, many people weren't too fond of adopting the socialist way of organizing economy. So they packed up and went West. Their loss!

Likewise, it was the high-time of the Cold War, West-Berlin a hotspot of espionage, smuggling, and, probably hard to understand for the likes of you (no disrespect), bleeding the East dry of products much cheaper in there than the West. The exchange rates were brutal and Westerners, especially West Berlin people, exploited this for shopping tours. THAT is from personal experience of my parents and many other people I spoke to. Likewise, a lot of educated people - high standard university folk, engineers, physicians et al - were lured to the West after making their degree with higher wages et al. You see similar in the US and with the Mexicans. So, there you are. Still remains fact that only a very small percentage actually wanted to leave throughout much of East Germany's existence.

  12. Butland

    Tavernier - Souttar - Balogun - Ridvan

    Lundstram - Raskin

    McCausland - Cantwell - Matondo

    Silva

Subs: McCrorie, Jack, Dessers, Lawrence, Sterling, Wright, Barisic, King, Devine.

One just hopes we don't wreck McCausland, he's been starting games for fun thee days, no matter against whom and on what sort of pitch. He looks to be THE find of this season (aside from Sima). While today you want to play the best you have, Dumbarton was one of these games he might have been rested.

IMHO, our best two centre-halfs in action tonight, let's hope they hold firm.

Seriously? Someone named their kid An Ass?

The name Anas is of Arabic origin and is commonly used in Muslim cultures; it means “affectionate, loving, friendly" or “friendliness.” The name Anas also has historical significance, as it was the name of a companion of the Prophet Muhammad: Anas ibn Malik was known for his loyalty and service to the Prophet ...

Annass is just a different form of writing it. And yes, I noted the joke.

Assuming this is accurate for a moment, how do we know from that blurred picture that this is the NATO missile suggested?

One can rather easily distinguish the silhouettes of the various missile types in question. A quick google search gives you the design of whatever missile you want to look at, be it Russian, US, German or China-made. Likewise, one can just as easily make slow-motion screenshots of these clips, some better, some not.

As with the days of large FLAK batteries to ward off Allied bomber swarms, what is being shot upwards, falls down again. If a missile malfunctions, it may fly wherever it wants, as we have seen with the one that ended up in Poland. Or the one that flew straight over a street in Ukraine and tearing a street market apart. They identified it looking at the mirror images on the roof of cars it passed.

Obviously, this will probably not satisfy many Westerners. Given that to this day they deny that it was a Ukrainian Tochka-U hammering into the Kramatorsk train station, even though Italian and German reporters were at the scene soon after and even saw the registration number of the missile's engine part. Aside the small matter, that Russia sent the Tochka-Us to the bin in 2019 and haven't used any before and since. They did shoot down a dozen or more coming from Ukraine. Like they do with HIMARS, Storm Shadows et al. This is a Grade A testing ground for military equipment, no wonder they want to drag it on ... or try their luck with Yemen.
