Technically, that is not correct. From start to finish. And I doubt that he sees himself or his folk as some sort of messiah, nor do any sane Bears.
-
... and they still may be in for a "promotion" bonus, should it come to that.

Honestly, their "supports'" boycott messages comes from their supporters associations and trusts and whatnot. What sort of percentage of their support do these people actually represent. Have these people any sort of grand influence on each club's attendance figures for more than a months or so? Will it throw them into turmoil if it's not 4.356 but 3.800 fans paying? At worst, their attendance figures may drop if Rangers come to visit ... hey, an nearly empty stadium then! ... and there it will stop. For your common SPL supporter will want to see his team win against the other 9 teams where they can expect it and who have nothing to do with Rangers FC and whatnot.

I see your point and disregard it as nitpicking for nitpicking's sake.

We shall see whether he gets/wants that much. Same goes for the others. IMHO, if we offer reasonable wages or plant a wage cap somewhere, some of our previous high earners will jump ship. I for one wouldn't be surprised if Whitaker and Lafferty jump ship, while I'd hate to see Aluko and Naismith leave for that reason.
-
IMHO, we won't have that many 15k+ earners for some time.

It actually is. South of Hadrian's Wall and in Europe. Obviously, Manchester 2008 put a dent into that (but this is largely forgotten beyond Britain/Manchester/amongst the Hooped Horrors), as did our recent administration. That said, hardly anyone in eruope knows the full story and if they take their news from the much reliable BBC these days, the picture becomse somewhat unbalanced. No, IMHO, the war in Scotland must be taken to those responsible. Ever since 2008 (at the very latest), the Scums influence in all things Scottish football and media has become untangible and we as a club have let the support down big time during that period. Hardly any real fight was put up against the insinuous efforts of the Scum, no-one stood/stands up against false claims within the press. No-one challenged the authorities for e.g. Lafferty's Law or the ridiculous Aluko ban. This need to change. Boycott. This is the minimal approach we should take against the other relevant SPL clubs. IMHO, we will be declined entry to the SPL by the drooling hordes who just found the "sporting integrity" - club. Hence, there will be no need to boycott any SFL team. But equally people could cancel their Sky Sports contracts (i.e. 1 in 10 could retain it and invite fellow Bears for games to watch; or people simple visit their local pub). The time for holding up the other side of the face after the first got beaten is well and truly over!

IMHO, we should make home jerseys available with a 54 on the back "AND COUNTING" as the "player's name". They would sell in their thousands and fill our coffers. It will be a hard fight with these bampots and they will want to make us carry the stigma of tax-cheats and no-history folk. But then again, some of them may also want to see us erased from history altogether and we should let them know that this wish will die with them when their time comes.

You mean, he can not fulfill his and Ally's wish and sign players from that 19-man target list, as the squad will be filled with sufficient numbers of essentially freebies? May be.
-
... remember that no-one at the club owns more than 15% of the club's shares? As I said before, Smith & Co. or Kennedy or King or whoever wants it and can it may buy shares in the club and gain a foothold in the business. That is what we need right now. And afte the stability has returned, peope can still decide to play some power games behind the curtains at Ibrox.

Congrats on finding something to nitpick. Maybe they ran under a different name back then and only formed as "Zeus Capital" in 2003? As in: the advisors of ManU took over someone else and created a bigger firm?

People should keep notes on all this for the days to come. We saw the SFA / SPL giving the Hooped Horrors every lee-way they wanted since roundabout 2008. Their people can walk essentially unpunsihed while we faced up to Lafferty's Law, the Aluko ban and whatnot. We saw the Scum getting players' and even the fair play award after they shafted referees and argued decision all season long. Now the 25-point-pnelaty stuff, being all over the Scum-boards before the SPL/SFA sat together and suddenly came to the same brilliant idea. The arrogance that drips out of these people and their lapdog press beggars belief. There are days when I actually think that us going down for a year to Division One should be the option taken. For without us the Scum may win another title, but throughout the season, this whole lot will suffer. As the Pogues (yes, I know ... and I chose it on purpose): To hell or Connacht, may they burn in hell tonight!

Have you ever seen people making any sort of sizeable money out of football clubs of our size? Not least to mention clubs in our position? I always hear people telling us about the money SDM got out of Rangers ... but if you ask for plain hard facts, you get next to no reply. IMHO, people use the "businessmen are in for money only"-club indiscriminately ...

It was probably debated earlier, but it actually beggars belief what this chap posts here ... Rangers in liquidation Q&A By Martin Conaghan BBC Scotland What IQ does this chap possess? Really? Comparing apples with oranges here and thus stating - in the BBC's name - that Rangers people deluding themselves when thinking that our history will go on? Airdrieonians FC folded much like Third Lanark. Ballantyne whipped up a new club (sic!) called Airdrie United, but got rebuffed for straight re-entry to the SFL. He bought Clydebank FC, relocated it to Airdrie, re-named it Airdrie United. That saw two clubs (!) die in one year, Airdrieonians and Clydebank. Much like Third Lanark. What relevance has this to Rangers FC? No matter who is our PR chap, he should challenge such rubbish wherever it shows its ugly face.

I was commenting on the OP's and gunslinger's remarks, not the article by McDonald.

Traynor said Ally would quit on Thursday. Essentially, Green faces the William the Conqueror scenario. After fighting all the bloody wars against the Danes in the Northeast, Harold had to scuttle back to the south and ward off William. And got mightily beaten. Green did all the bloody stuff with the the administration and now faces a new "war" from "within". He's in a lose-lose situation ... and we clad our club neatly in shame here.
-
Yes and fair enough! Why do people do this at a football club though? To come back some day in the future and get it (and a profit) back? I would doubt that. King invested to see the club he loves (I assume) to stride to even greater things. We had league titles, cup titles, Champion's League runs during those days of his investment. Ibrox was also revamped. He got what he paid for back then. So be it.

Sponsors side with Smith as newco loses support
der Berliner replied to forlanssister's topic in Rangers Chat
BTW, who will talk (CEO) for Smith's group should they get the Green light? While Smith would sure have the SPL and SFA folk thinking about what they say and do, he intimated that he would not take a role at the club. -
What I still not understand is that people think because some of Green's folk are "businessmen" (you'd think that is a crime when reading some stuff on here or FF), they are likely to make quick money and go away. Have these people actualy spend a thought on somesuch? How Green and Co. would make much money out of Rangers FC as we are now? By selling assets! Oh really! Try again. The club is financially and football-wise stricken like never before. Even though we've shed all the EBT and debt baggage, before we run smoothly, there need to be income streams. In the current climate fans are hesitant, sponsors are hard to find ... so Green's folk will have to invest, invest, and invest. And hoping that in a few years time we turn the tide and make profits again. These financial brains who continuously claim that Green & Co. are in for money should really think about this and explain to the us how they can make quick and much money out of us. I for one am not of the opinion that they actually harboured any idea that a wealthy buyer et al would come looking for us any time soon. Smith & Co. could be their golden cow, of course. But that was sure not in their plans.

Matter of fact, I have no idea how the current chairman and the current directors can be evaluated. It certainly looks like Imram Ahmad knows his stuff and I for one would rather like a few non-football people dong parts of the business stuff ... or, to put it differently, have a certain objectivity when it comes to business matters. A major mistake was the way the Smith group challenged the Green bid head on, instantly causing ill feelings not only amongst the Green folk, but also amongst the support.

... and getting essentially at Green and Co.'s throat with press releases rather than talking to the people themselves did not make matters any easier. IMHIO Walter should know the Rangers way to do things. -
Oh, an anti-Green fan-fest. That's a change. And I see the standards dropping by the day.

But he would be the first manager (I'd assume) to have a team promoted before x-mas!
