Could well be that this sneaky guy simply wants to register the names ahead of Rangers, so they may have to "buy him out". But as far as I am aware, we could challenge him for the rights to use the names with ease ...
-
I for one would not give him any line or thought anywhere.
-
And I would assume that he won't have any funny ideas about weekly wages ...
-
So anyone actually read anything more of said "story"? If we've already bid for him, the deal might be more advanced already ... the Swedish season will soon be over, AFAIK. Maybe a tip-off from Bedoya?

Craig Whyte vows to sack anyone at Rangers who talks to BBC
der Berliner replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Skint Rangers won 3IAR. While they faltered in Europe, they run away with the league again, after spending next to nothing on seven new players (according to some). Timothy as a team and their manager appear to be clueless these days, had it not been for the Sion Fiasco, they would be out of Europe too. (The cover this fact gets is minimal, BTW.) The big HMRC case comes up, so our "friends" at the BBC (you know that I do not speak about the impartial ones - few as there might be) take the opportunity to deflect from Celtic's woes and lay heavily into us ... by whipping up a programme to undermine our chairman in the public eye, just ahead of this schedule HMRC case hearing. And we do not simply speak of some nonsense local paper or TV station here, we speak about the BBC, read and screened all over the planet. As I said, their football (not Scottish, but their main footie) page on the day (Friday) had the Rangers & criminal background headline spread all over it. As you say, the programme was about Whyte, but it was IMHO misnamed for a reason. Why right now and not years ago? Maybe because Murray, our board members and the BBC folk were good friends, or at least on good terms? -
Rangers fan MacMillan says Whyte claims 'disturbing'
der Berliner replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Wonder where that comes from? Then again, it is just "a bit". Coming to think of it, just imagine if Dave King had taken over, with all his RSA tax baggage ... investigative press FLAK all year long.- 22 replies

Which "might" suggest that he "might" view administration is "probably" the next best option "should" the case go against us. @ Dutchy ... you mean it's kaputt?

I was referring to the 4m in the cash-flow account. Anyways, it seems that the BBC really want that war. Despite all the Europa League action last night and Stoke going strong, their Football page opener can't be more telling! Rangers owner 'criminality' claim Utter gutter press behaviour. Sue them hard, Craig!

If it was that easy*. Alas, I can actually watch Al-Jazeera in English and Arabian these days. BBC World Service is out there, the rest might still come via BSkyB's hardware. *We've got our satellite dish for more than 10 years now, digital receivers for a year.

Lucky me over here in Germany. Won't be able to see either "show". Sometimes you wonder whether ManU fans are equally trouble by their club's ownership and debts ...
-
BTW, while we are all pre-occupied with Rangers, is this also the case with Whyte? I mean, sure he has obligations as a chairman, but he (as far as we know) runs quite a number of important businesses, some may be more important at certain stages than Rangers. Just as food for thought.

Obviously, such a "cash" problem may see us ending up in administration, but, just out of interest, would this actually help us with the HMRC case? What would be the worth of going into administration if we come out of it and face HMRC again? On a sidenote, why does it take so long to clear the first HMRC case and deal with Bain and McIntyre?
-
Has there actually been any real facts about this "imminent" administration? Unless I am mistaken, people are just reading a lot of things into some of the current events, some of which do indeed make our financial doings look bad, while others have next to nothing to do with it. There's been a negative undertone in nigh "anything Whyte" and this has us all essentially on the edge. The only one real danger that is looming is this big HMRC thing, which would essentially break nigh any British team's financial resolve. If it goes against us, administration is probably on the agenda, unless Mr. King shows up again or we can divert it onto Murray - one way or another. But IMHO, people have been playing with that "IF" far too much and thus created an atmosphere where anything that springs up is almost solely viewed in negative lights.

Rest assured, to many in the mhedia, that what will be said in this programme will be gospel.

We still get interest for all the frozen money, do we not? That's better than throwing it after players who fail to hit their own standards ...

Trick or treat: Administration by Halloween?
der Berliner replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Obviously, while one does not exactly now any outcome of an administration, taking it on board now and having a chance to stay at the or near the top with 3/4 of the season to go would be a clever option. IF administration can be considered a good option at all. I'd expect that the doom-mongers will ensure some dire reading till the first hearing will actually take place in November.- 22 replies

At least we saved the money for a legal representative, as we did not send anyone ... It would be more interesting to hear when these cases are actually heard. Wouldn't it be a cynical move if he takes it all in his strides and sees their claims evaporate in case of administration?
-
So everyone should just keep quiet and not ask questions or discuss the various situations unfolding? I can see it now... new SNP campaign called "Wait And See" that criminalises speculation, presumption and open discussion. What's really sinister is the treatment (and planned treatment) of Rangers fans! I won't tell anyone what s/he has to do. Some argumentations on here seem to border on paranoia though and the will to see everything bad that there might be (!) in Whyte and present it as fact is pretty obvious. At the end of the day, he will do as he sees fit ... and much like in the darkest days of Murray, boarders rather argue amongst themselves and slag each other off than actually do something. Which reminds me to post a question over at the RST site, who will actually talk to him in person tomorrow.

How so? You know any inside stuff? Any clue what either of them actually wanted from the club ere being sacked, or rather being suspended? Okay, any clue how this could have been avoided? Bar paying the money when it was due years ago in the first place, that is. When Bain and McInytre might have actually come across the money long ago by doing their job properly? Granted. How so? Whyte has his own folk and uses it. I for one have not noted "constant" changes, btw. Expand please. Rubbish. HMRC wants more than what is due and we contest this. We have agreed to pay and AFAIK will do so, but not the penalty on top of that. And, BTW, do you or anyone else on here actually know whether these 2.8m have actually been paid by now? Paying over the odds for players not worth it and to clubs wanting to squeeze as much money out of our club? No failure. We even bid too much for Juhasz and HIS club decided to stay put. We bid enough for Verhoek ere HE decided to stay put. That's Whyte's failure? Not in my world. Based on hearsay and information by people who have been wronged by the club or are commited enemies of it? Yes, if you believe them, then that's a failure. Yes, people want to see all bad things that there might be in Whyte's take over, after being carefully nose-lead long before it happened by the media and those same people who now come after him with money claims and whatnot.
-
As has been said, we know next to nothing about Whyte and these people. I do assume that this is the case with many football clubs all over Britain, not just us. I doubt that Whyte has any greater obligation to sate our curiosity about his background than we would have presenting our background to the public. It is a sinister tendency these last few years to assume the worst and expect even worse, rather than to wait and see. So far since his take-over, the only ones who have failed us were the players during the first few weeks of the season ... or rather, before the latter actually started.
-
I for one do not know how high McClelland or Whyte are held in the "business community", whatever this may be. What we do know is that all those who have left by now have held their roles under the last owner and at the end of the day, did little to stop us from running ever deeper into trouble. They could all have resigned in protest et al long (as in years) ago, and in the cold light of day, they all earned their money from Rangers FC while we slipped ever deeper. So I for one do understand that Whyte does not exactly want those people - whose role at Rangers as such I would not question - about for much longer (and with all due respect, they do get on age-wise too), nor will he surround himself by yes-sayers either, I'd assume. For he needs new faces to get us into the next era of Rangers, whether those may be a Laudrup, Gough or you name it. Not necessarily as directors, BTW. It would be good if we learn more about those changes and I would hope people will ask the relevant questions at the AGM, or that Whyte tells us in advance. One of the worst enemies in these days is the lack of information. Still, people need to understand that this is no open democracy, where people have to learn all that there is to know about everything that goes on at the club.

Notable: 1) the name the graffiti CIRA being "a reference to a republican terror group" 2) absence of linking it to the Celtic and its support Just imagine somesuch would have happened at one of their pubs ...

BBC Investigative Documentary on RFC/Craig Whyte confirmed
der Berliner replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
So while we are debating it on here, should the above not been made aware to Whyte and his lawyers? Obviously, it is a touchy issue going at loggerheads with something like the BBC beyond their Scottish division, but if you see what is actually been done and who the sources are - with the HMRC case on the horizon - you can see the writing that's on the wall here. The word "witch hunt" looms in the shadows of a programme that could well be used to influence those judging on the HMRC case. And it will not matter if the programme is screened and Whyte wants an apology afterwards, since the overall damage will have been done.
