  1. Valid points....I've edited the original lineup, taking Davis out - don't know why I put him in, since he's been one of the main culprits.... The role in the middle of mid-field could be interchangeable with Ness/Hutton/Edu etc As for Ortiz, many folk have commented that he was playing RB in spain, and performing well....so why not give him a chance???
  2. What would folks views be if McCoist decided to completely change about his starting 11 to include the likes of McMillan/Hutton/McKay/Bedoya to name a few. Goes out with a fresh game plan, fresh legs on the pitch, and on paper certainly looks like it will do the job, only to get beaten on matchday??? Would he be praised for TRYING something different, to shake things up a bit, or would be be run out of town for not sticking with his tried & trusted formation/team/tactics??? If he did revamp....what team/layout would you like to see??? How about: :jmo: :dg: :ab: :kh: :mm: :sa:..........................................................:mc: :nj: Ortiz or McMillan @ right back. Aluko & Celik given somewhat of free roles to man the wings or drift in to support Jellyfish more Alternatively, you could have Aluko in that free role, with Jelavic & Celik (or some other striker) up front. Most importantly though, would the fans praise him for at least trying to gee things up a bit, or would they chastise him for changing???
  3. Last I heard the comments from Jelavic were saying he is happy at Ibrox & loves playing for Rangers. I feel this is also backed up by the lack of enthusiasm about signing for QPR/West Ham etc. He has always stated that we would like to move down south to one of the Big teams.....so far the teams rumoured to be interested aren't big teams (with the exception of Liverpool - but how serious is their interest???) The team are just playing crap - and its not due to one or 2 players, its everyone!!!
  4. I, for one am getting pretty sick & tired of hearing the "since we lost Naismith" line of excuses - the quote below sums up some of the performances and the problem within the team. I very much doubt that Naismith's presence in the team is enough to miraculously turn everything about. The team as a whole are performing poorly - that may well of happened even if Naismith was playing. He is one player (all be it a cracking one..) out of 11 on the pitch!!! He isn't playing and won't be for a while....it's time that the fans & possibly players get over that fact, and get on with things!!! The team that was playing today was filled with INTERNATIONAL class players.....the whole performance should not hinge on one player. EVERY other member of the team should be able to go out there and perform - after all that's what they are getting paid £1000's per week to do. If anyone else is under-performing @ work.....there are consequences - apparently not if your a footballer though!!! I think the team/squad/management need to give themselves & everyone else a serious rocket up the ar$e
  5. While reading about new signing Celik, I noticed something. He says he visited Murray park/Ibrox a month ago....yet no-one at all picked up on it, not a single mention in the media until the past week!!!! Yet there are constant "reports" in the media about who been approached, who being signed, who's being chased etc. It really makes you wonder if ANY of the media stories really are true. McCoist had come in for some criticism in the past about his handling of transfers - he's been too open in the media - could he just be playing a game with reporters etc??? Giving them something they want to hear, then pursuing another avenue in reality??
  6. According to Rangers website, Celik has put pen to paper.... http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/football-news/article/2583397 However, he is unavailable for this weekend due to international clearance.
  7. There certainly have a few players who can play there....yet only one has looked decent, composed & fighting for the place - thats the LB Wallace!!! Wylde, had been OK, but needs to develop his game more. Kerkar while not really getting much game time, I've not been overly impressed with him as a winger. I think McKay & Fleck are more suited to the centre of the midfield. I think Kerkar just needs to get his head down, and work his little socks of to prove that he's a better options than anyone else.
  8. since when did someone no being fit ever stop us singing them??? some may even say it's a pre-requisite!!!
  9. The guy obviously has delusions of grandeur - we're better off without him if that's his attitude!!!
  10. I think the pressure to win, would be the ultimate downfall.... The fans are used to winning week in, week out - they expect to win EVERY match. The fans expect to win the league each year....a baw-hair from winning is only just accepted. Would the fans be able to cope with the possibility/probability of not winning each week??? It would take MANY, MANY season to get into the EPL. Once there, would be seriously be able to compete with the big boys, on a weekly basis??? True, the level of player would be better, but as Calscot says, the debt would also increase. Don't forget as well....would we get to play in Europe again??? There would be many season where that just wouldn't be possible, but once in the EPL, would we be able to finish in the top 6??? Overall, I just don't see it happening. Rangers are a massive fish, in a tiny pond.....by moving down south, they would change to a small fish in a massive pond (initially).
  11. That was the feeling BEFORE they left....there wasn't a problem once they did - the ball kept on rolling, and the goals kept on going in!!! Aluko on the other hand....the only person who has done anything on the right wing recently has been Naismith, and he's oot. I would get Aluko signed long term - I would love to see Aluko on the left & Naisy on the right. Think those 2 together could cause mayhem in the SPL!!!
  12. However....it appears thinner that it actually is due to some players not getting played (but that's for another thread....)
  13. That really depends on Davis.....he MAY not want to be captain log-term!!! He may feel personally that it is an honour, but one that's having a negative effect on his game. Therefore MAY welcome passing it on. As for Boca....he wore the armband against Arbroath, even with longer serving players in the team!!!
  14. Would definitely go for Boca....also, just think of the new clothing options with Cpt America on them!!!
  15. Surely that will be something that they will be looking to change??? Increased exposure of the team in potential markets - sales & corporate!!! The one part I don't get is having it in London as opposed to an office @ Ibrox/Murray park....does location play a major part of it???
  16. I think if you sacked ie. contract terminated, you are due remuneration. However, Bain was suspended, then resigned!!! My take on resignation is a voluntary cancelling of contract & therefore shouldn't be due any further remuneration. I may be wrong, but it you resign from a job, you are not eligible for dole money??? I'm not clear on how Bain can sue for wrongful dismissal when he officially resigned (according to reports). Obviously not aware of full facts, so maybe (probably..) way off the mark!
  17. I think that's the most that can/will happen TBH....
  18. Your complaining that not enough info is coming out about these guys....yet folk complain when too much info comes out about targets - which these guys are!!! What would folk say if a full detailed report was published midway through their trial, which was read by another club, who come in and offer a better contract???
  19. taking a slightly more positive spin..... At least something is being done on the commercial in order to boost income. Whyte has said that they need to raise income levels, and obviously see this London office as a way of doing this (not sure how the location has an impact though....). Maybe its not just international endeavors that are being pursued.....Having an office down there may make dealing with "local" teams easier & more efficient. Also it may not simply be "shirt sales" income that's being boosted....they may be chasing more corporate income - sponsorship's etc. Time will tell (as with most things) if the venture is a success......why write it off before its really begun??? I see it as trying to push forward the commercial/business side, which if its pulling in the readies....will get passed onto the playing side.
  20. I think the photos are certainly distasteful, but I think that more evidence would be required to PROVE that he was an IRA supporter - especially in an employment tribunal!!! Mountain out of a mole hill methinks....
  21. It's not.....but I'm sure a silver tongued lawyer/solicitor would be able to put it across like that @ a tribunal. Should maybe of worded it differently...Personal beliefs may have been more apt....
  22. I think the question is: How does it impact on his job??? During the course of his work, is he behaving in a sectarian manner etc? If it is not impacting on his work, I see no reason for disciplinary action from Azure. At most, I would think that Rangers could request he be moved to another site/contract. However, this may give the guy grounds to complain that he is being singled out because of his religious beliefs....
  23. Ok...I'd forgotten about that post from Dutchy...
  24. Hopefully, with a full campaign (& hopefully a title & Cup), he will feel more confident to shop/change things slightly.
  25. Are we utilising that squad to maximum effectiveness though???? Example: as part of the squad we have McKay, Bedoya, Ness, Fleck, McCulloch, Ortiz (??), yet to cover a gap, we use Papac There is also this Honduran bloke on trial - another midfielder. Also Kyle Hutton when his loan finishes. I personally feel that the squad is a good size, with enough adequate cover for pretty much all position, without resorting to playing players out of position.
