  1. 2 semis are pooled as far as I understand. Will then be expenses, SFA take, and split between the four semi-finalists I presume.
  2. Thanks - that clears that one up. Guess well have to use rhyming slang instead then.
  3. TM, I'm a tad confused here. When you wrote "********", did you mean ********, ******** or ********? I realise you didn't mean ******** because those players aren't on our Board.
  4. With all those medals mate, you must look like Brezhnev in his Sunday best.
  5. As an alternative to giving Merlin credence by debating his latest blog, I thought that I would remind the forum of his own words in his swan-song & sign out, all those moons ago - actually, half a moon on 13 March this year. The laddie is at the heart of the confusion surrounding the Club when he can't even take a consistent line himself for more than two weeks. The thought has crossed my mind that, apart from writing forum posts himself, how on Earth is he going to sign up members to his forum who don't express negativity? He either has no perception of reality, or is in the sway of people who have no perception of reality.
  6. So, we're waiting on Lunny now, are we? Clear cut case of bringing the game into disrepute.
  7. Shocked this came from the Record. It could honestly have been the Peoples Friend, it's so simple. If I remember the incident, it was a 50/50 ball, and there wasn't even a foul called. Is my memory right?
  8. I've not got a good feeling ahead of this match. Not often I feel that way for finals.
  9. Firstly, I'm not on anyone's side except Rangers. However, opinionated, divisive and non-inclusive comment such as this VB blog is unhelpful in the extreme. That doesn't mean I take the opposite view, or "support" another group. In my view, anyone who attempts to marginalise other Rangers supporters or groups is fundamentally wrong. Our biggest strength is our size. Our best card is solidarity. We are well on the way to have six or seven clubs with their own supports. All the same size as - say, St Johnstone. Blogs like the above depress me, but go ahead and argue your corner. Just count me out.
  10. That would depend if you're Mike Ashley or not.
  11. Dear Mr Merlin I am finally so happy that someone is talking for the millions of voiceless Bears out there like me. I intend to renew my season ticket, and have certainly not come across any hardcore rebels who are intending not to renew. If I do, I'll certainly have a stiff word with them and let you know who they are. As you so rightly point out, not only am I renewing, but, like all of the loyal Bears I sit beside, I am buying an extra 15 season tickets so that I can show my support. The donation button sounds like a brilliant idea, and I would willingly donate thousands of pounds over the season to help the Club. Please send me three donation buttons - one for a PC, one for an IPad and one for an IPhone. I have told my children about all this and the consequences, and they are literally in tears. Please send a signed photograph of yourself and the Board so that we can put it on the mantelpiece. You will be be able to get my address from the club database. M A Mugg
  12. Bit of a setback and disappointing. As Zappa says, we'll just have to beat them at their place.
  13. Slow news day indeed if we're discussing that incoherent, ill-informed ramble.
  14. There is a clear possibility that the RFFF money will be needed in the future - perhaps even the near future. The fact that it is there - largely unspent - could be compared to a country having a nuclear defence capability. It might never get used, but it makes the actions of others a lot less likely. It means that we have the ability to defend ourselves. We don't have that guarantee via the Club at present.
  15. Agreed. This should have been one of our legacies going forward.
  16. I don't think so really, cb. RFFF was a sort of knee jerk reaction thing and a result of the times. The governance and policy seem to have been largely overlooked but they are essential factors in the proper running of a trust or an organisation or whatever. It's not too late to revisit all that, but talk of block votes is unhelpful in the extreme. This should be about Rangers. Here we go with another opportunity to unite everyone. Will we take it?
  17. The benefit of this is that, after every group has made a statement, we can draw up a database of all the factions and fan groups so that we finally know how many we have.
  18. So, decisions, decisions. Whether to trust the legal opinion of the Rt Hon Lord Nimmo Smith, Senator of the College of Justice or the legal opinion of Gerry McCulloch, former reporter on Skoosh and presenter on Bid TV. I'll have to toss a coin on this one guys, and I'll go for Lord Nimmo Smith.
  19. Wishing Sandy all the best going forward and that he fights this successfully.
  20. You may be right Hildy, but at present a saviour is the only way out of the clutches of these desperadoes. It's impossible to do it on our own. Let's get away from them first and search our navel ten years down the line.
  21. I don't personally think he's as bad you make out, SC. His output as a hack is sensationalism at its worst and in the context of what it has contributed to the Scottish game, it is extremely divisive and deplorable. Hacks like Shug are very much responsible for the anger and bitterness amongst today's younger fans. That anger and bitterness has yet to bring its destructive force to bear on our game but mark my words, it's only biding it's time. The level of "sports journalism" in this country is abysmal and hacks such as Shug have almost certainly contributed to a near total loss of understanding and appreciation of the game of football. That truth hurts, but they are systematically destroying the game they rely on for their bread and butter. That so many throughout Scotland look towards our media for news, opinion and direction, and that it is severely lacking is a very sad state of affairs indeed. But no, using a Celtic banner to cover Shug's shortcomings lets him off extremely lightly. The offences that he and his ilk are responsible for are far, far greater.
  22. To make things easier, I definitely won't be mentally ready for it.
  23. Great read D'Art. It might be a good idea to do a series of articles of various supporters buses. Agreed that they provide a great service and social bond. Caps off to all the people out there who tirelessly organise them.
  24. Apart from his addiction to sensationalism, that wasn't such a bad effort from Shug. He does raise a valid point about the next Old Firm game. Maybe we should just play them to home crowds and forget opposition fans for a while.
  25. Totally agree with RR here. For too long now I've been hearing "total pish", "fucking shite" etc etc etc and for too long I've been hearing threats from regulars about not going back. The type of football and the standard need to be addressed immediately. We're heading for a meltdown if it's not addressed. We're on the cusp of heading back towards the eighties.
