  1. I'm starting to get angry about all these subliminal insults. I feel a letter to the SFA coming on.
  2. The SFA should reel this walloper in. He's doing a great deal of damage here. All of his concerns could have been discussed and resolved round a table at Hampden. However he's chosen to manufacture a war in the media.
  3. I think at the very least there should be some kind of reformulated policy statement, and some form of update every so often. Also some form of minutes when there's a meeting. It's a lot of money, but more importantly it's a lot of goodwill. I'm sure that those involved have every good intention and are honourable, but it's obvious that there is need for some kind of transparency. This doesn't need to cost much at all.
  4. He's got the stars on his top though. That's what counts.
  5. I think they're in a different dope league. Both bottom of their table mind you. But I think DF has a legendary status when it comes to dopes. Fanfares of course tonight for Spiers wading in to the fray. Been doing his usual bit about waiting for everyone to comment, so that he can judge where he should sit? He's now sussed it out and after little or no reflection, is sitting firmly (for now) in the 14,000-17,000 camp. Did I say camp? It's meant in the literal sense.
  6. Excellent. This clash against Celtic should be pretty interesting.
  7. I think that's a very restrained and appropriate statement. Also encouraging.
  8. What we should all remember is that we are the only party not involved in this spat. We have Dundee Utd, the SFA and the combined intellect of the Scottish Media. They should really take a good look at themselves.
  9. There seems to have been a wee bit of a lackadaisical approach by the trustees as regards communication.
  10. Many thanks BD. It's more as a matter of interest in finding out where forums sit in relation to the DPA than anything else. I would tend to agree with your thoughts about not being required to register etc. and would also go along with your thoughts on further distribution of data. The internet is such a relatively new vehicle that it's fascinating (and not entirely set in stone) to look at how forums sit in relation to libel, defamation etc. This brings us full circle to the Sandy Easdale vs SOS Facebook issue, which also coincidentally raises DPA concerns.
  11. Thanks BD. What then about passing the information (email and DOB) on not being for the purposes for which it was originally gathered?
  12. Excellent piece. Graham sums my thoughts up precisely.
  13. Just as beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, offensiveness is becoming firmly entrenched in the ownership of the offended. The man on the Clapham omnibus is rapidly becoming redundant.
  14. It wasn't actually for assurance, mate. More looking after the interests of the forum. On that line, perhaps we need a nice friendly libel lawyer to write a sticky for us outlining good practice.
  15. Well, before they descend, I agree with Mazza. I've got a permanent smile on today. We've done well, and it feels good to be a Bear.
  16. Thanks Frankie. I'm totally ignorant of the law here, but is that last sentence totally compliant with the Data Protection Act?
  17. Hutton was extremely poor last night. He had a lot of the ball too, but no vision in his play whatsoever.
  18. Shug's sounding pretty even-handed these days. Given the climate were operating in, and given the Word Police, I'd better add that McNamara is sounding very, very ****y. I never really thought that he was one of the ****y ones.
  19. There's a part of me that says we could be better served by dropping all of this and moving on. I'm pretty sure that everyone who matters in Scotland is very aware of Sandy Easdale's background, and it could be perceived that to continue with name calling is on the childish side. With regards to being pro or anti Board, I'm probably as anti as they come. However, I've got my tin hat on, and I'm sure there will those who disagree with me. For the time being, and for the dignity and safety of the forum - and respect for Frankie and admin - I think we should retain the higher moral ground.
  20. Agreed. What a state of affairs when the public have lost all faith in the media. What's their purpose any more?
  21. I can't fly. Doesn't stop me thinking that it would be nice to have a Lear jet.
  22. South African legislation is a different beast to Scots or UK legislation, GS. DK's situation would not have occurred in the UK or Scotland. The original question is a non sequitur. It's without logic.
