  1. Of course. I'll look into getting them off the camera tomorrow. Is there a preference for what we do with them? Post them here? PM them? I won't do anything until I hear from you guys.
  2. I'm not long settled down after picking my daughter up. Yes - totally agree. A superb initiative and very, very enjoyable. Great to meet the faces behind the legends - including Dave "is there any more bread" Smith. Thanks to BD, charltonbear and Forlan for the contributions to the drinks kitty. And of course, a huge thanks to Brahim for organising everything and being MC. Lastly, thanks to you all for being a great bunch and excellent company SC - yes - ice cream makes kids hyper. Have fun with Mini Cooper!
  3. For this blatant lie, and all the others, I think that AIM should be having a serious look at the behaviour of our Board. I tend to agree with Andy here (post #183) and I think the strong likelihood is of another administration coming, so we'd better get used to it and have it work in our favour this time.
  4. What a clusterfuck. Once again, the Board come over as inept bungling buffoons. This blame culture from their perspective has to stop. It's tearing the Club apart. I never thought I'd see the day when the loyal fans of the Club were constantly blamed for everything that has gone wrong.
  5. I've sent you a PM and a text. I'll be arriving directly, so no need for a taxi for me. See you all soon.
  6. So sad to hear this. Sandy was as big a Ranger as they come. He was an outstanding player, and a sterling servant for the Club after he hung up his boots. Rest in peace, Sandy.
  7. There were quite a few from East Lothian in the day, Frankie. Dunbar, Haddington, Tranent, not to forget the Pans.
  8. Agreed Darthter. There's not been very much about this campaign that would be considered an achievement. Unless, you ask Ally, Jig, or one of the footballing or management squad, that is. I'm convinced that, with no change, the shit's going to hit the fan next season.
  9. OK, I'll bring some objectivity into it. From reading most posts here and on other forums, and from talking to other Bears, the issue is not about a lack of consistency in playing well. The trouble is a remarkable consistency in playing badly. I will be the first to admit that the squad has resiliently and admirably churned out result after result, but it hasn't been because of tactical prowess. I will also be the first to admit that we need cohesion desperately. That is in the Club itself, the staff, the squad, the fans, the whole ball game. I was watching Rangers with my kids long before Faure was born. I trust my objectivity over his.
  10. From reading the section, I wonder if that is absolutely gospel. Jock wasn't averse to causing a barney. Doesn't matter now, anyway. It's out there in urban legend along with how CFC humiliated Jock Stein.
  11. Naturally, Gibbons is entitled to his opinion on the financial situation at Rangers as much as any other man for all seasons. However, it cannot escape my notice that his blog epitomises what is wrong with Scotland, and in particular, media-driven bigotry, particularly in the field of football journalism. As 26th of foot rightly points out, Gibbons gives literary credence to Thomas More, and goes on, quite rightly, to portray the man as a leading intellectual of the time. However, in one of the many quickstep/sidesteps in this blog, he omits to mention that the man known by the Catholic Church as Saint Thomas More was, contrary to his reputation as a humanist, an aggressive opponent of the Lutherism movement and, despite historical attempts to whitewash his involvement, his implication as a main instigator in the barbaric persecutions and burnings of the time cannot be hidden. Ultimately, his overarching loyalty to the Papacy over the oaths he swore to his monarch ensured his execution. The metaphorical nature of Gibbons choosing a literary definition of More as an introduction to a blog persecuting Rangers and it's fans is certainly not lost on me, and is quite contemptible. As a humanist who certainly doesn't believe in persecution for belief, I find the game that Gibbons is attempting to play to be bigoted and one sided with no place whatsoever in a modern world, let alone modern Scotland. No doubt, Gibbons plays this cleverly, but essentially continues a career-long hatred of anything Rangers, combined with a thinly disguised intense dislike of what he perceives to be the values our fanbase represents. Despite his subtle attempts to lay the blame elsewhere, Gibbons is clearly a prime motivator in continuing to stoke up the fires of bigotry and persecution which cast their flickering flames over all that is wrong with Scottish football rivalry and sectarianism in Scotland. It strikes me that in another century, Gibbons would have been one who ecstatically stoked flames for a different purpose altogether.
  12. Still not sure what I'll be doing. Will definitely be driving and definitely at the picnic. Still trying to organise that I can get away early enough to make the match. Ex-problems.
  13. Anybody have any idea how much, say a £600,000 salary costs the Club. Are there additional administrative costs and contributions that the Club have to bear? What I'm trying to ascertain is if we are correct when the £600,000 figure is bandied around, or is it actually more?
  14. I see where this is going. I think the insinuation is that I can't get a game at left midfield for Rangers because I have had too many KFCs. I would rather believe that it's because I'm 61, and, despite an abundant desire to fight for the cause, didn't quite manage to synchronise physical condition and a football brain. The physical condition I had into my mid twenties. The football brain unfortunately came much later on. But go ahead, blame it on KFC.
  15. For me, nothing. We've been well and truly buttoned up, stiched up and zipped up. Criminally, in my opinion.
  16. Frankie's really hit the nail on the head here in answer to the continued attempts to relate football businesses to any other. Unlike any other business, the fans are paying for a product which is at the end of the day, customer satisfaction. That customer satisfaction can come in many forms. Winning the Champions League, a good run in Europe, winning the league, winning the Scottish Cup, remaining safe from relegation, just playing attractive football or whatever the fanbase cumulatively senses is acceptable for their Club. However, history shows that prospects are bleak for Boards or owners who fail to live up to expectations. Given our recent history, a large part of our fanbase is unhappy with the way we are playing, they are unsure if we are being led back to where we should be and they are suspicious as to our future financial stability. This is why so many are questioning the present Board. Nothing more, nothing less.
  17. I assume that these four are not extraordinary examples, and that there are a number of employees on wages which are grotesquely above the industry/societal norm. Anyone know if Wallace asked them in January to take a voluntary 15% drop in wages? If not, why was the request limited to the playing staff? Why didn't it include high earners - indeed including board members and high earning administration staff.
  18. There are quite a few actions by the Board that have been indefensible, but they know there is a "here today, gone tomorrow" characteristic about their actions. Huge indefensible pay offs. The great EGM/AGM stitch up. Chasing fans and threatening them with legal action. The attempted 30% pa with collateral loan heist. Disgraceful PR and statements that have been beneath the dignity of our Club. How much just disappears forgotten into the past?
  19. Thanks for that info, BD. I would prefer someone pacy and younger - with good feet. I'm not convinced he is the Messiah. It just seems to be jobs for the old boy network once again.
  20. It's finally struck me that Bill is a pathetic parody who believes himself to be rather erudite and intellectual. He obviously tries desperately, but just comes over as a fairly average Joe with delusions above his station. More a cobble than a stealth destroyer. He'd be better off finding a day job suited to his skill set.
  21. It would appear that Ally's expectations are a lot lower than mine - and judging by comment, probably a whole load of fans.
  22. Quite ironic. When you don't want stuff leaked, Charlotte Fakes turns up. When you do, you can't find a Charlotte Fakes for love nor money.
  23. The only thing that is healthier is that three of the smaller teams in Scottish football have been playing for a place in the Scottish Cup final, and two of the smaller teams in Scottish football are second and third placed in the SPFL, where apart from Celtic winning it by a country mile, there has been a fairly even level of non-quality football. What is not healthier is the overall business model, and Jackson is either being duplicitous or weak-brained to ignore it. It would appear that it is impossible to attract sponsorship. Television deals are probably more derisory than any other country in Europe, with the exception of Andorra, Luxembourg and San Marino. Hearts may be about to implode, or if they survive, will deny the SPFL their attendances, with a further impact on sponsorship and TV revenue. They may very well be replaced by Hamilton, who won't exactly have BT, SKY or a major sponsor sprinting for their cheque books. It's not impossible that Hibs will be relegated too. They are 5 points and a play off away from the drop. And as if that wasn't bad enough, we have the annual whipping boy fest that is Scottish football's foray into Europe, where we desperately try to hold our own against Armenian, Icelandic or Maltese giants. Even the hacks are feeling the pinch, with the media restructuring and downsizing left, right and centre. Yes, Keith, Scottish football's in a great place just now. Let's sit back a feel proud of what we've built.
