  1. It appears from Simmo's statement that he allowed his 11 year old son to go on Twitter. Personally, I think that's pretty irresponsible. No way would I allow my 11 year old daughter access
  2. Up until now, I've been a staunch defender of internet freedom. Particularly in the case of Twitter, I sometimes doubt this, and think a "Twitter license" is a good idea. Some people don't deserve the freedom that the internet brings. I'm convinced they will eventually spoil it for us all.
  3. Firstly. For the avoidance of doubt, I was one of the first to vote and voted that Ally should do what's best for the Club, and move aside. I half agree with your sentiments Zappa, in that we shouldn't fear any team in Scotland. However, I feared the game against Raith, and I feared the game against United. What's more is I'm not the only one. The Bears I've talked to outside of this forum were expecting a four or five goal drubbing by Dundee United. My point is that in my long history of supporting Rangers, I can't remember not having a "We are Rangers" belief in the team - even through the days of John Greig being in charge. Despite dire results, we still didn't fear anyone. I don't like to see that taken away, Ally.
  4. Rab, it's nothing to do with being 35 years old. SDW did a sterling job for us when he was older. The crux of the matter is what Jig brings to a woeful defence and a team that totally lacks creativity.
  5. Shockingly strong words dB and some very loaded generalisation. It would be enlightening for the forum if you could cite those vitriolic examples, and let us know who those usual suspects are. Would you care to do that please? As regards a narrative to expand on what a reality check should look like, no need to bother, I'll re-read some of your previous posts.
  6. As others have been mentioning, we're not improving and developing players. That goes both for seniors and the younger ones.
  7. You've summed it up as well as any Zappa, and it's damning. Totally agree about Wallace. I was thinking of him as captain material at one time. If we throw the management structure into the mix too - and the youth coaching side of things - then the whole situation seems daunting. Totally depressing. The answer is not for Ally to bring in a few players to cover over the cracks. We need a new broom - and now. The right management team - with a high degree of ruthlessness - is where we need to start. We need to know that we are Rangers again. Otherwise, next season is not going to be pretty to watch.
  8. A lot of these scenarios are gigantic leaps of faith, and silly parallels or metaphoric comparisons don't help. Dave King has a long successful history as a business man. Do you think he's just been lucky, or do you think he knows how to run a business?
  9. I can understand your trepidation Crawford. From the photo it looks like they've only got two wummin between 13 guys.
  10. Apparently he can only be bothered defending himself against nation states.
  11. After a few readings, that's a pretty unprofessional press release. How they will be attempting to prepare a legal case against a South African citizen making a statement from South Africa is totally beyond me. Between the lines, I think their cage is rattled. But beware when rats are cornered. This might become very messy.
  12. Yes! A mike! "And now, the end is near ......."
  13. After that statement, would it be fair to say that there are presently no immediate plans for Richard Gough to be doing the half-time draw?
  14. I don't for one minute think King isn't street-wise. But whoever's behind the Club are no numpties either.
  15. Let's wait and see what King says. However, for all those swithering, this period is leading up to the Championship. It will be a lot harder to do next season (if we are promoted). Even more so when we are promoted - and when there's a sniff of European money, forget it, we'll be in their clutches forever. In my opinion, now is the time to bring our Club into safer hands.
  16. Simmo will be alright there. I don't see a difference in quality. I'm not going, and I don't think I even want to watch this one. That's how confident I am. I'm only recovering from the Raith game. We'll seen
  17. It might not be so much about getting money in. It might be more to do with getting everyone locked in. As soon as you're signed up, you're disenfranchised. You have no power whatsoever for another season.
  18. Was thinking this too Zappa. Impossible to sort the biblical wheat from the contemporary chuff. No one will read 30,000 responses. We will end up with a Fans Representation Group consisting of Merlin, Mrs Easdale, an obscure fan from Yorkshire who wishes to remain nameless and a loyal sheepdug from Uist.
  19. They say that some are lucky in love, and so you must be congratulated for being so lucky, Pete In my attempt to find something meaningful, I dated someone from overseas but she suddenly stopped talking to me, because she was convinced her house was overrun with bogus workmen. I then thought I'd found perfection for a few years, but she ended up being a foul mouthed tosser who not only accused me of being a Tim, but a Nationalist and an anti-Royalist too, which precluded me from being anything to do with Rangers. That just pushed me more towards confirming my humanist nature, and my staunchness as a Rangers supporter. The next one up seemed pretty exciting, but was very quick to let me know that I was below her standards, and told me violently in no uncertain terms. I followed her up with a quick fling with a total headbanger, but realised that, despite the physical excitement, it was never going to be substantive, so I called that a day. And then, after a long while when I thought I would never find the right one, I met Gersnet, and the rest's history. Might not be earth-moving moments, might not be gratification on demand, but the conversation and the honesty is there. I don't turn my head when the bogus workmen appear, I don't pay attention when the tosser or the headbanger tries to avert my attention. It's a relationship you see. You get out of it what you put into it
  20. And that, my friend, is most likely one of the more positively uplifting things I've heard from anyone all season! It could surpass Coisty's "We don't do walking away."
  21. Be interesting to see what those who have been active in bad mouthing other fans have said in their responses.
  22. GS, we all need to pull our weight. 6 dozen scones isn't exactly going to buy us Schürrle. Wouldn't even pay for a post-defeat/draw/win karaoke. Think you could hit 30,000 if you push it, mate?
  23. I'm there. I'm going to go for this. I think the Board deserve me. What happened to the scones GS? That's possibly a substantial revenue stream for next season. I'll include it in my business plan. How many can you bake on a Friday night?
