  1. Well I know Bernard had a trial at Sheffield United, Ipswich wanted Malcolm and is Marvin still at the club? I know he was told to find a new club but he wasn't actually released was he?
  2. Oh definetely, I was just speaking in generalities to the players we're being linked with and signing. Whether I've seen a player play before we sign him or not is irrelevent really, if he doest he business it's all good to me. I've been impressed with Clement in the sense that he hasn't let me down. I knew he was a player who would scrape up the action and move it forward, kind of player who strolls through games and you barely take notice of him. Makalele in a sense, but not as good obviously. Other than Clement, Sionko's looked good in patches, Lee Martin looks effective, both players I'd never seen play. Plus in a lot of cases, you could sign a big name, an unknown and on many occasions the unknown turns out to be a better signing than the big name (Compare Flo and Larsson, for example). But yeah, was just speaking in generalities.
  3. Olivier Bernard and Bob Malcolm still Rangers players. The window could stay open 6 months more if it got them to fuck.
  4. Another player we've been linked with who's joined a smaller club (Elmander for example, joining Tolouse). Just a sign of the calibre of player we're being linked with. It's funny, this summer, the only signing we made who I had ever seen play was Letizi, and he looked horrendous. There's been fuck all to get me excited this summer.
  5. Aye that's true, but I wasn't speaking necessarily about the quality of player we can attract. We say Celtic's trips to the US and so on are all just about money, but they've really went ahead of us in a sense of worldwide exposure. And it's always Celtic who get the glamour friendlies against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United. Always Celtic big players turn to for testimonials. Now I'm not syaing I want all that, but it means in places like England, it'll always be Celtic people refer to over Rangers. (I don't mean fans, but more the media and so on). And, at some point, that may have a knock on effect, making them look like a bigger club than us, hence making players want to join them over us.
  6. It's actually quite worrying how far ahead of us Celtic have become in a commercial sense. It seems now people acknowledge Celtic a helluva lot more than Rangers, and big name players now seem more keen to join them.
  7. There hasn't been a good OF game since the 3-3 which de Boer and Mols scored in.
  8. People say we did great business in getting £8m for Boumsong. Same scenario for Celtic, but they've did what we should of done and spent it wisely. Credit where it's due, Celtic have a good side now. Maybe not good enough for Europe, sure. But they've got the 2nd best keeper in Scotland (behind Gordon), in Boruc. Lee Naylor will be a consistent left back while being nothing special, Mark Wilson is reliable (which is more than I can say for our right back), McManus is a good centre back, again, reliable. Weak link possibly in who partners him, both Balde and Caldwell look suspect too often. In midfield, they've now got class acts in Nakamura, Jarosik and Gravesen, whereas Maloney (who seems to be preferred in midfield) is always a threat when he's fit, and McGeady is dangerous. Up front, you won't find a better partnership in this country than J-VOH and Zurawski. The title is staying at Parkhead, and that's not me being a pessimist. It's me giving credit to the fine squad Celtic have.
  9. Petrov isn't as good as people make him out to be, and goes missing far too often. We can't be blind anti-Celtic folk here. In signing Jarosik, Gravesen and JVOH for a combined £8m, and then getting the exact same amount back for Petrov (£6.5m initially, the rest after appearances), Celtic have done absolutely brilliant business this summer.
  10. He actually impressed for Real Madrid but the revolving door in the manager's office went against him.
  11. Who gives a fuck? The youth team and the senior side are all that matter. Reserve football is a shambles. A reserve side can never have a settled 11 and what-not which is what you need to build a consistent season with regards to the league table. Don't look too much into it.
  12. £16,000 a week would make me forget homesickness for a while.
  13. It was a joke.. I quoted a post I made from Sunday and it's the exact same as the one you just posted. And Fraser, Boyd playing in the Buffel role makes no sense.
  14. That guy syaing: "You want a red one?" is hilarious.
  15. Crouchies won it. Telling ya, the script is written for Chelsea to spend £46m on Mikel and Sheva, £20m on wages for Ballack and STILL lose the league. Colshers won't be happy.
  16. Chelsea only took 13,000 fans, ridiclous. Riise's goal was a stormer, and it's good to see Sheva off the mark.
  17. He's a Celtic follower, and no one should see that as a problem.
  18. When I saw that Gretna got Derry City, I thought they had a chance. Pumped 5-1 in the home leg. Wee shame.

Probably free for Gretna. Not like it helped.
  20. Little interesting note.. Arsenal had their team photo today. Jose Reyes was in it. Ashley Cole wasn't.
