  1. Walcott is the only regular.. Gibbs at left back whenever Clichy is injured. Wilshere wil be a regular eventually.. but still, not many.
  2. Would like to hope so.. Ideally we'll just punt everyone who's on decent money who's not going to play to stave off having to sell anyone worthwhile. Lovenkrands rumour was always going to pop up considering he's training with us.. but I thought the bank 'weren't sactioning new contracts'?
  3. Clearly I'm biased.. but take out Novo for realism sake and I genuinely think that team would do better than 90% of sides Scotland put out.
  4. Folk are daft to get squad names before the deadline anyway. Amount of lads I saw going about with '24 Cuellar' last season before he left.
  5. Suppose giving Fleck 29 from 53 and so on is just dropping the numbers lower (Whittaker going to 16 from 28 and so on) so it opens up the bigger numbers for players further away from the first team.
  6. Cracking wee interview on the website from Thomson who's doing a daily video diary from the training base. One highlight is insinuating Boyd is a huge fan of ice cream.. shock horror.
  7. Just watched an interview on the website with McCulloch and when asked about central defence stated that he'd 'had a chat with the manager who has a wee idea for me'..
  8. Profile page on the website shows the new squad numbers. Notable changes: McCulloch is now #6. Davis is now #7. Whittaker is now #16. Velicka is now #17. Aaron is now #19. Fleck is now #29. Danny Wilson is now #66 (was 72.. seems a pointless change.)
  9. Anyone had a bet on the golf? I bet Ross Fisher at 50/1 at the start and he's now near enough joint-leader.
  10. Madjid Bougherra has pledged to stay with Rangers despite strong interest in his services from Bordeaux. The Algeria international defender, who moved to Ibrox from Charlton in a £2.5million deal 12 months ago, had emerged as a target for Les Girondins. But Bougherra insists he has no plans to leave Walter Smith's side and is looking forward to the challenge of UEFA Champions League football this season. He said: "I love it here. It is a great and very big club. I have settled here and my progress is going like I want. "I told Bordeaux thank-you for their interest but it is great for me to play for Rangers. "I prefer to stay here, the Champions League is also here." Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud confirmed that the French champions were still looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. He told L'Equipe: "We are still looking for a central defender. Laurent Blanc has several names in his mind, we have not definitely set our choice." Juventus' former France international Jonathan Zebina has been linked with Blanc's side, while a move for Nice's Onyekachi Apam has also been mooted. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5439318,00.html
  11. Good sign for the new website.. normally we'd of waited till it was completed to announce this.
  12. Has now spread to his lungs and he's in a critical situation in hospital according to the BBC.
  13. Just been on Sky Sports News that we've officially loaned Wesbter to Dundee Utd for a season. Not sure if he'd of got a look in anyway but now if Bougherra goes we'll look even shorter in the centre back department.
  14. At least this time the player can't be blamed for going to a much below-par Club considering Bordeaux just won the league in France and as such will be playing Champions League football next season plus Bougherra started in France, speaks the language etc. so the appeal to him personally is obvious. Not as if he's going to an Aston Villa side who will never win anything. I haven't seen anyone here slating him and for the reasons above wouldn't expect to. The Club need a kick up the arse, mind, if this figure being banded about is true. It's almost as if we've accepted the first offer we got without even negotiating. We're about to walk into the Champions League and accept £5m for arguably our best player? Name another side in the competition that would do that. Heard here and there that the Tonel deal is pretty much sewn up but even if true, he should of been partnering Bougherra. Not replacing him.
  15. Quite liking the new interactive player profiles bit.
  16. Also linked to Wigan: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_5433105,00.html Skysports.com understands Wigan are considering entering the race for Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra. The Algeria international, who can also play in midfield, is thought to be a target of new Latics boss Roberto Martinez as he tweaks his inherited squad. But the Latics could face competition from France where Ligue 1 champions Bordeaux are reported to be lining up a €6million (Ã?£5.1m) bid. Laurent Blanc's side will be playing in the UEFA Champions League in the coming campaign and the lure of European football could prove decisive. Wigan, who finished 11th in the Premier League in 2008/09, will only be playing domestically in the new term and that could hamper Martinez's efforts. Former Charlton player Bougherra turned down a move to West Brom last summer in order to join Rangers because he wanted to play in Europe. However, Walter Smith's side then suffered a shock elimination in the Champions League qualifiers at the hands of Lithuanian minnows FBK Kaunas.
  17. If you click the link for Man City tickets and have a click about you can see what it's going to look like.
  18. RANGERS have been given a huge boost ahead of the new campaign with the news that Kevin Thomson could start the season. The key midfielder was badly injured last November when he suffered cruciate ligament damage in his knee for the second time in his career. However, he has completely recovered and has been given the all-clear by a specialist to now work flat-out with the rest of the squad and will play in the pre-season matches. Boss Walter Smith said: "The specialist is very happy the way the injury has progressed and it means that he will now do all the work with the rest of the group. "It will obviously take him a little bit of time to get his match fitness up but if we can get him a number of games over the pre-season then he will be ready - if not for the start of the season then shortly afterwards. "I have said on many occasions that I felt he was starting to show great form just before suffered the injury. "It always takes a bit of time for young players to settle at a new club and that was the case with Steven Whittaker, Maurice Edu and Kyle Lafferty. "But they are all past that stage now and I just felt that Kevin was getting to the situation where he was beginning to influence games and hopefully when he gets back he will be able to start where he left off." Bit of good news to cover the dire lack of transfer activity.
  19. I can't see who wins here. Surely JJB are just doing themselves out of 6 weeks worth of selling the jersey before anone else can? And it's a sad day when the release of our own kit is 'outwith the Club's control'.
  20. RANGERS have today been informed by JJB that the new home kit to be launched on Thursday, July 16 will only be available in the Rangers JJB Megastore at Ibrox Stadium. Due to circumstances outwith the Club's control, the new kit will not be available from the Argyle Street Rangers JJB store from July 16 as previously stated. The kit will be available in this store four to six weeks after the launch date at the same time as other sports retailers stock the strip. The Club has worked closely with JJB to ensure supporters can purchase the new kit as early as possible and this has meant focusing on the Club's sales channels - including online - to maximise availability of the range for all Rangers supporters. The new Rangers Home Kit for Season 2009/10 has received extremely positive feedback from supporters since it was revealed on the official web site on Sunday. Confirms any doubts anyone had over this JJB deal being a complete joke.
  21. Does the website not even offer name/number printing anymore?
