  1. I've been appalled by some of the stuff that's gone on in the Twitterverse lately. A picture of a young Dundee Utd fan holding an Ibrox seat did the rounds on Saturday afternoon and what started off as a kind of "tut-tut" criticism quickly turned to the most horrendous abuse and threats of violence imaginable. The kid was about 15......
  2. Kompany is apparently out with a knee injury sustained in training yesterday and he'd be a massive loss, inspires confidence in the likes of Demechelis and Zabaleta. I've stuck a fiver on Suarez first goalscorer and 3-1 Liverpool.
  3. Basically, the major shareholders are dug in deeper than a gypsies pocket. It'll take £16m+ to dig them out.
  4. That is true, there are positives if you look hard enough but I'd be more inclined to feel that with Wallace, his good spells are down to his obvious class plus being involved with the Scotland squad early on albeit briefly and there being a league yet to win. They're all bound to take a dip once the title's sewn up but surely a cup final (even the Ramsdens) would provide a wee bit of stimulus? McCoist is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't, but that's the nature of the beast.
  5. Without trying to turn this into a "reasons why McCoist is not the man" thread, the above is a massive indicator of the management teams ability. Wallace is different from your Ian Black's etc in that he is a dedicated professional and a very motivated one at that. For him to lose his way is disturbing. I can only speculate but given Lee's public desire to get into coaching and management it's unlikely that he's lost interest in the game or the club but in the style of play and possibly lost confidence in those around him. How many times did he rampage up the flank in the first half of the season, making things happen only for the ball to be given away and for him to have to charge back into position?
  6. Kayal was fond of a full blooded tackle himself by the way, and he has previous for slating opponents for tackles ie Drogba in 2011 "I feared Drogba broke my leg..." I wonder if he remembers this assault on Sir El Hajdi of the Doufs...
  7. Translation - I come from a place torn apart by terrorism and sectarianism and do not want to play football in front of fans who glorify such terrible activity anymore.
  8. A funny thing happens to people when they know there is a large pot of money sitting dormant, it plays on their minds and this is a great example of that. Without a defined purpose the RFFF pot will be brought up as soon as there's an issue which may require financial assistance to solve. A mission statement from the RFFF would clarify a few things.
  9. One can only wonder what could be achieved if all of these "fan groups" could work together instead of against each other.
  10. I don't expect him to be at Hull next season, he'll get a big move if he recovers from this well enough. All the best Shagger.
  11. The headline and rhetoric do not match the actual quotes. Concocted bullshit.
  12. If the games finished at half time, I'd be £200 up but now I've got to endure 45 mins of terror.
  13. He certainly talks a good game and seems completely convinced. That also makes me a wee bit sceptical. Hopeful...but sceptical.
  14. To summarise: "It's only the Scottish Cup and now that Celtic can't win it the semi-final venue should be changed in case Sevco get any advantage." "Even though Dundee Utd started and provoked a response, it's the dirtty hun zombie fucks that are pure the worst." "Look bhoys, I said that fat Sally is talking tripe, how provo am a?"
  15. The Utd game on the 12th should write itself...if nobody else fancies it I'll gladly take the reigns.
  16. Swap us for Celtic in this row (not likely I know but humor me): First of all, the media up here would be falling over themselves to make Dundee Utd look at best silly, at worst dangerously out of control and possibly even anti-Catholic/Irish. Secondly, Peter Lawell, Lennon and the entire Celtic PR machine would be on the attack, citing "fantastic reputation" and baseless allegations" while quietly making moves to have Thompson up in front of the SFA facing a charge of Bringing the Game Into Disrepute. Lastly, their fans groups would be organising bhoycotts of all things Dundonian including Jam, the A90, the colour Orange, and generally causing mayhem until they get their own way and Dundee United's ticket allocation is cut to 5000 and all ticket proceeds are paid to Celtic by way of compensation.
