  1. I haven't seen him other than when Falkirk beat us. He does know where the goal is and surely wouldn't cost a lot.

Typical Algerian/Moroccan sometimes walks through games but wins everything and can finish, composed and clinical. Not a great turn of pace and he likes a tackle! I'd say worth the gamble if we can afford him...(can't believe I've just typed that)

  2. So in essence, we have not even spoken to Trabzonspor or his agent about Brozek ... and I guess we are "interested" in many more people than him. As for Claros, a touch disappointing, but I would not read too much into the negative rumblings from the press and his current manager. I would assume that there will be a hectic few days ahead of Mr. McCoist, with the press being frenetic as usual, the hysteria will reach a peak on the boards too.

(Have a sneaky feeling that we may end up with the striker from Falkirk, whom we did not want to sign ahead of the Bairns' semi-final with the Hooped Horrors ... )

I hope so, I rate El Alagui (from Falkirk) I think he would be one that one flourish playing with better players at a higher level.

  3. He wouldn't have played this weekend anyway, no point in picking up an injury this close to the window closing so I think it's just common sense from both Jelavic and the club to be honest. Hope the CSKA story is true and we get proper money for him, they've just sold Wagner Love for about £8m so are short of a striker and have money to spend (as always).

  4. I'd take 7.2M for Jelavic and move on.

Having looked at his career overall, it's probably more than he's worth and I'm not sure he'll be anything special in England.

Seems a fair price all things considered although I disagree...he COULD be a star down south but not for West Ham, a decent season 2012 with 15+ goals and he could move on for £10m+.

  5. Rangers Tax Case had a go at Stewart Regan earlier on Twitter questioning the legitimacy of clubs issuing two contracts to players and how that relates to a n SFA mandate to play in UEFA competitions. Regan dismissed it as "if's, but's and maybes" It's clear now that all of these muppets (RTC PMGB etc) know nothing more than the rest of us and have ran their race with regards credibility. It has been quite disturbing the way some individuals have gone about trying to undermine Rangers Football Club.

  6. Dropping the case could be a smart move for HMRC if they feel like they can't achieve a complete victory. The door would still be opened to pursue some of the 4,000 other companies who have used EBT's for salaries or bonuses and use the RFC case as a learning experience.

  7. Blue Square Premier and work our way up would be a fine by me, within 4 years we'd be in the Championship and playing Leeds/Notts Forrest/Reading etc, much more competitive than Dunfermline and St Mirren with bigger crowds and better players. From there on in who know's if the fanbase stayed loyal then we could have a proper crack at the Premier League. The real bonus in this scenario is that Celtic would be left behind to win 27 in a row in a Mickey Mouse league.

  8. Another little trinket that tells me that Mr Whyte does indeed have a cunning plan. If I'm way off the mark then I'll hang my head in shame but something tells me that Craigy is a step ahead of most folks when it comes to business. Nothing he done so far tells me anything else...the court cases tell me that he plays hardball at the drop of a hat and isn't afraid to make the big decisions even if it means potential disgruntled ex-employees etc. His first action was to tie up our playing asset on long contracts and since then his hands have been tied by HMRC. Whatever his cunning plan is, I don't see it having a negative impact on the club. People should think about where we would be without him.

  9. I think latterly that it's become fashionable within media circles to have a go at Rangers, we are a soft target just now and perhaps we make it easy for them to detract from our on field success. However....you have petition being sent to the SFA to have our UEFA licence revoked, you have shady groups like Fare apparently using undercover operatives to bring UEFA cases against us, you have RangersTaxCase and/or Phil Gillivan doing everything in their power to attack our club pouring over financial columns and court papers desperate to find a chink in the armour plus every other bitter person out there with access to the oxygen of publicity. No one will convince me that some within the media also feel motivated enough to abuse their positions for the same "cause". It is raw hatred that drives these people and it has only been ratcheted up in recent years due to Celtic's failure to topple an almost crippled RFC.

  10. It's curious, even commentators are getting abuse as being shite or biased. Paul Mitchell got the abuse, Liam MacLeod gets it, and Ian Crocker too.

Are there any commentators or pundits who gain our approval?

I think Andy Walker is a fantastic pundit, never allows his personal allegiance to his team get in the way of insightful, balanced commentary.

  11. It's not institutionally biased Danny, meaning it doesn't necessarily come from the top down. There is however a core of Celtic "Minded" anti-Rangers employees in there who take every opportunity to negatively report on Rangers and portray Celtic as the cutesy, charming club of the people. You only have to contrast and compare the coverage of both clubs UEFA disciplinary cased recently.....that is just one example among dozens.

Here's a question...when do you guys think this campaign began? (If indeed there IS a campaign) I think it's around the same time as all. the other anti-Rangers propaganda began to manifest itself in the media and online. It seems to me that at some point 2 or 3 years ago a concerted and clandestine effort was made to attack the club in any way possible.

  12. I would like to see McGregor get a shot at a Man Utd or an Arsenal, putting aside my selfish wish for him to finish his career at Rangers. If we are going to pull in some money for him (which could potentially solve our HMRC problem in one go) it would be a move that I would reluctantly endorse. The guy deserves to play at a higher level, we all know he's got the talent.
