  1. I realise there are some idiot Rangers fans but where I share the "We are the people" sentiment is in thinking we're on the whole, a cut above in such values. The spirit of William Struth comes to mind and the notion of the Rangers Family.

I see Celtic as a club that attracts and encourages those with lower values and their lack of dignity, respect and integrity is noticeable through almost everything they do on a daily basis. On that KDS site it seems every comment has hate and malice attached to it, whether it's about Naisy or the general comments which prevalently hateful spite towards those who they call, "huns".

This is not a view I just made up to hate them with, it's one that has been modelled and formed by their abhorrent behaviour over the years.

I've seen a lot of crap from some Rangers fans but to a massively lesser extent to the Tims. If we're the same as them then that will shatter my whole paradigm of how I see us. Maybe I've been sheltered on here, but I really hope it's not true.

If KDS is reflective of our country as a whole then we really have become a carbuncle of a nation. I'd really like to think it's mostly just a large and vociferous minority of THEM.

We're not the same as them on many levels mate. The difference is that a huge number of them don't actually follow the football side of it, they see it as their obligation as a "good Catholic" to support ra Sellick. While I know we have many many "fans" like that it's definitely more prevalent amongst their mob. It's seen as a cultural right of passage rather than a genuine interest in the sport.

That's my view and it's there to be shot down but it's been formed over 20 years of being a Rangers supporter and working and interacting with hundreds of people from both sides. Even my Celtic supporting mate will admit that bottom feeding scum are more likely to be from his camp than ours.

  2. If we do the business tomorrow the pressure will be on BIG TIME for them to get a result and we know what pressure does to the bottle merchants. Anyway feck them it's not as if they are our main title challengers this season.

  3. The run in to the end of 2011 looks on paper at least pretty straightforward but we have to be at our best every week to capitalise on it. If we can keep picking up the 3 points until the Old Firm game I'm hoping that won't be a must win for us. I can't see Celtic keeping a clean sheet in any game and that will cost them points whether it's draws or defeats.

  4. I wasn't following the debate mate, so I can't comment on it. Just thought I'd mention that these are literally just quickly jotted minutes of the meeting and not supposed to be some sort of fancily worded report.

I think that's what was intended but now it's become the transcript. As a paid up grammar nazi I notice these things too but hey ho the content speaks for itself.

  5. Thing is,they really believe they have never lost any title, they really believe they were either cheated out of titles by the establishment or they threw away the titles themselves, which makes winning more titles even more enjoyable:smile:

I love it when they start that, so entertaining. Unlike their team.

  6. What, no mention of the big bad STV attacking us?

Come on you conspiracy chaps, some consistency please!

All factual stuff from STV, you can't argue with it. However, you can take issue with their counterparts in Pacific Quay peppering stories with "It is alleged" or "We understand" type sentences to exaggerate the story. If anything commercially funded companies like STV would be forgiven for sensationalising stuff to sell space or viewers but to see it from a publicly funded organisation is where I have the issue. Not necessarily that it's biased against Rangers (I don't think it is btw) but they are falling way below the standards and objectivity level which the BBC should be achieving.

  7. I think Leggo's last 2 blogs have been more relevant to Rangers over the past couple of days and well timed to, hopefully, get the maximum number of folks out to protest at BBC HQ.

Crickey, I was almost thinking about coming through to Glasgow myself!!!

I was planning to but got kids to run about the country before the game on Saturday, hope there is right big turn out and it's organised properly. Would hate to see it descend into a rammy. If stories are to be believed "rival" fans are planning to disrupt the protest. Anybody heard anything?

  8. It's in their upbringing, they are told they are oppressed and marginalised from day one and their whole "culture" is based on that apparent fact. I have no doubt that there was a time when that might be true but not in my lifetime (I'm 34)...they have cottoned on to the fact that playing the oppressed minority can bring its own rewards after all who is going to decide when it changes from defending their tradition to attacking another?

  9. I was one of the anti-Lafferty crew although never gave him abuse at games etc but would have been quite prepared for him to go on loan to Blackpool or something at one point. How wrong I was! Big part of our team now.

  10. The law is surprisingly vague on this as it turns out, no doubt to leave as much ambiguity as possible to scare people into compliance. The actual wording is -

"A television licence is required for each household where television programmes are watched as they are broadcast, irrespective of the signal method (terrestrial, satellite, cable or the Internet). A licence is not required, however, if you use your television only to watch DVDs or play video games, or you only watch programmes on your computer after they have been shown on TV." - Television Licensing Authority

You can own a TV without a licence providing you do not watch live broadcasts. How they would prove that you do is another matter..
