  1. The only time I have heard £100m mentioned was the land value around Ibrox (which Murray quoted) and the valuation of the club at £80m by Green. Iirc Green mentioned how Emirates paid Arsenal 100's of £m to rename their stadium, he didn't mention anything about having an airline lined up to rename Ibrox. The merchandising profits, I never saw the £6.5m figure, but tbh.. that doesn't sound unreasonable to me. Other clubs do it. Again, though, what has been PROVEN to be nonsense? You would have to wait a year to claim all of the above was nonsense.
  2. Terminology like that makes it sound like a political campaign. There is no such thing as a Greenite, just Rangers fans. The problem here is trust, not support. I support Rangers, I trust Green (so far).
  3. Save = Taking over the club in the state it was in and stopping The Rangers from going out of business.
  4. Did he say we would sign with or Adidas or did he say we COULD sign with Adidas? He said he would raise £30m by the end of July.. but he also said this would be via investment + a share issue.. the share issue is only happening now. Whether he gets £30m or not remains to be seen. Who owns more than 15% shares at the moment? Will this person still own 15% of shares after the flotation and said persons shares become diluted? CG promised to keep fans up to date with the clubs current affairs - I'd say he has kept that promise. CG promised to be tansparent - I'd say he has been so far. CG promised to stand up for the club - I believe he has. CG promised to reduce season ticket prices - he did. CG promised to disclose the names of everyone involved with the club - I believe he has? I could be naive, but I think some of the stick he is gets is a bit unfair. I understand that after Whyte & Murray some people would reserve judgement or be skeptical.. but to openly criticise the man who took on the task of rebuilding us is definitely unfair.
  5. You have said this before, but I disagree. What has he actually said that hasn't come true that can be achieved overnight?
  6. & they don't need them all. If we kept our current squad and signed 8 decent players then we would be strong contenders for the title whether they have 30 players or not..
  7. Aye, but they are lying about attendances.. who knows what else they are lying about? Didn't Lawwell say they had to cut costs last year?
  8. I think another 8 players should be more than enough strength for us to win the SPL. I would also agree with others that this would take meticulous scouting and not just buying players based on how well-known they are which we seem to do. Celtic beat us by signing unknown gems. We sign well-known has beens who are looking for an easy ride out of football.
  9. Cheers, I don't follow the game south of the border much, just what I see on the back pages of the papers when there aren't any old firm scandals
  10. That is my point though, he's trying to say it's not viable to run the club, so that would suggest £5.2m is a higher estimate? Perhaps my logic is wrong
  11. Celtic have 3 squads worth of players. We can't afford to try to match that.. it's ludicrous. Let them run themselves into the financial wall. We should have 1 25 man squad (pref with at least 5 homegrown youths) then another reserve team to develop players and cover injuries/suspensions when required. Paying £30m to have 2/3 full squads is absolutely mental, especially in Scotland where there is no money in the game.
  12. But their wage cap was different. Blackpool's was based on squad role and I'm sure their key players got a maximum of £11k per week. Our wage cap is 33% of our budget and if Blackpool was on the same budget their income would have shot way up in the PL and they would likely have survived by recruiting stronger players. Did they not also win a cup? Or at least get to a final?
  13. http://scotslawthoughts.wordpress.com/2012/07/27/rangers-fc-in-2012-2013-could-it-survive-financially/ Estimates our wage bill for 2013 at £5,200k, this included all the older players but I'm not sure it this was before or after the wage cuts.
  14. According to FM 2013 (I know it's not factual or anything) our wage budget is £6.4m
  15. I'm sure I read that it's currently £7m.
  16. I agree, but with that giving us a 12m wage budget I'd say that should be plenty.
  17. Blackpool got to the Premier League with a wage cap.
  18. 33% of a projected 35-60m is a 12-20m wage cap. I'd say that's pretty high. Who knows perhaps the wage cap is to allow us to use other funds for a better scouting network so that we can find bargains like Wanyama?
  19. I think Black has played consistently better than at Hearts.. especially since he spends 50% of his game on his arse.
  20. Isn't 4k a tad high for Motherwell/Killie?
  21. I'd rather win promotion back to the top and be the only club to have achieved this.
  22. The last two lines of that blog had me pissing myself laughing. Mainly because its true.
  23. Cheers Ian.. I was hoping they wouldn't have to go through the same as us because IMHO their fan base is too small to survive from Div 3. After reading that I cannot fucking wait until they are the new Third Lanark. Fucking scumbags.
