  1. Taking a break from the turkey and in-laws. Happy Christmas to all on Gernset. Go Rangers. Onward and upwards in 2014!
  2. Unbelievable. The GB can do what they like. Since when did they get put in charge of policing in Scotland? This is shameful.
  3. That would help a fair bit but we still need to trim the playing costs as well. There's a few in current squad that might considered footballing spivs given their underachievements so far. It's not about having lots of players. It's about having enough of the right players who can get us back to SPL without leaving us crippled for years when we get there.
  4. I wish I could say I was surprised by this climb-down. But I'm not. Give them all a tour of the Piggery while you're at it Liewell.
  5. My heart bleeds for Stockbridge. If he had any shame or decency he would have been long gone by now,
  6. A long long time ago, in a universe far far away..... The early 1990's I think when a certain club from across the city were run into the ground by the Whites and the Kellys.
  7. How are the events at the weekend anything to lay at the door of Rangers? Unless it's escaped your notice Keith we were dumped down to the bottom of the leagues and we have to play our way back, visiting those team's grounds. Or would you like us parachuted back into the SPL Keith? I think we would all like to know if you do!
  8. Powerful, forensic arguments Andy. An excellent piece that should be read by anyone who seriously cares about fairness and decency in modern Scotland. Thank you.
  9. Their definition of free speech is very narrow. Irish nationalists can sing about terrorists and whatever they like because it's "cultural" and " helps promote enthusiasm for politics among the youngsters". Everyone else's culture doesn't count.
  10. But of course the game in Scotland has never been healthier or more vibrant - if certain single brain celled pundits from Dundee are to be believed. Who needs effective competition anyway? Last night's result sums things up perfectly. For all their apparent "strength" in the SPL, Celtic (and by association, Scottish football) are a joke.
  11. Did he really use the term "terrorists" in that remark? If he did then he's gone slightly up in my estimation and potentially ignited a powder keg with the more extreme elements of Celtic's support. If he did say that what do his Green Brigade acolytes think about him now? "We aren't all Neil Lennon" maybe.
  12. Chucking them at the police might have. It worked in Amsterdam.
  13. Perfectly true. But who is to blame for that? It's not Rangers. Unless your recipe is a magic ticket to the top league tomorrow, it won't change anytime soon either. I would love us to stuff Celtic and Aberdeen and Dundee United as much as the next Bear. The fact is that it ain't going to happen soon. And if last year's abject performance at Tannadice is anything to go by we have a bit further on the road to travel before I'd would want to meet any of them again. Another 12-18 months for the team to gel and develop, and hopefully the boardroom shenanigans behind us. Then lets give Celtic and all the rest what's coming to them. What do they say about revenge being a dish served cold? I'm prepared to wait.
  14. [quote name=Hildy;453934 It's time to give ourselves a shake. We miss the top level' date=' we miss competitive football and we miss Celtic - and honest Celtic fans will tell you that they miss us just as much. Without competition - which is what Rangers and Celtic provide for each other - there is nothing left of any real value. There's only one thing worse than a two-team league, and that's a one-team league. They used to say that Scottish football needed a strong Celtic when we ruled the roost. These days, it desperately needs a strong Rangers. This period in our history is a long joyless walk of misery and monotony. Let's not delude ourselves that it's anything else. Bring on the Celtic! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Scottish football does desperately need a strong Rangers. But lets not forget that all the clubs at the top of the game in Scotland (bar one) voted us out, wanted us dead, and thought they would be better off without us. Thanks to them we have had to start from the very bottom and work our way back, making our way back up the leagues according to the rules. There's no fast track, no golden ticket so unless we get Celtic in a cup draw we are not going to be playing them anytime soon. We are where we are but like a phoenix from the flames Rangers will be back. I personally like the road we're travelling. It is honest and decent and taking us to places that most of us would never have visited in normal circumstances. If we don't have to play Celtic for another 2 years, I frankly don't care. Do I want to beat them when and if we do have to play them? You bet I do. But not before. If the state of Scottish football is a fucking joke, if no sponsor will touch our top league with a barge pole, don't hang the blame for that at Rangers. Blame Regan, Doncaster and all the SPL chairmen who couldn't see further than their own hatred. This isn't about simple rivalry. That went out the window when they voted us out. They wanted us gone and huge numbers of supporters of Celtic, Aberdeen, etc hate the fact that we survived and will never accept we are the same club. Hell mend them. They can wait a bit longer to suck on the Rangers teat again. Which of course they will be only too happy to do.
  15. That's putting it mildly. Hearts and Killie have been treated with kid gloves compared to the way that the knives were out for us. If this goes through it is a disgrace.
  16. Do these guys not realise how utterly stupid they look and sound after this. Basically is comes down to Police intervene to stop mindless vandalism = Anti-Irish police brutality/police state/persecution/victimization (insert as appropriate) Police don't intervene to stop mindless vandalism = Police not doing their job You couldn't make this up!
  17. Beautifully put Craig. Sums up what Gersnet is all about and why it's a cut above all the other Rangers forums because you guys care about it so much. Sometimes it's easy to forget how much work goes in to make this a great place where we can all meet up to discuss the club we love. That hard work is certainly appreciated by this equal participant.
  18. This is beyond parody. If this guy got the red carpet treatment from the Celtic Trust and a guided tour then just think what all those Green Brigade bhoys will be expecting, A tour and a free season ticket at the very least. If Celtic do not publicly dissociate themselves from this arsewipe then they are a disgrace.
  19. Merchandising is something that the club needs to maximise revenue from. Not give it away to anyone else. If this is even half true it stinks.
  20. They single themselves out by their behaviour. What other club's supporters cannot observe a simple act of remembrance without a cascade of boos and abuse? What other club displayed blood stained poppies instead? What other club in Scotland flies banners glorifying convicted IRA terrorists? Only one. That's not being partial Mr McGovern, that's being factual. Stop being a dickhead and stop defending these clowns.
  21. Two sheepshaggers and a banner. Hardly a huge groundswell of opinion. Next time you travel down to Glasgow boys, forget your obsession with Rangers and try asking about the TV deal that Doncaster and Lawell signed. That's a truth that everyone with a real interest in the game should want out.
  22. Ser Barriston, your picture says it all. If you can't do it properly don't do it at all. It just looks pathetic and as Forlan pointed out, fucking dangerous to anyone in the way.
  23. Is that the cash from the sale of season tickets that were meant to cover the whole of this season? Or have they burned through that already and they are running out of another earlier cash injection as well?
  24. Surely that would be flying in the face of "sporting integrity". We all know him important that is. Ha ha ha Nothing would surprise me given the clowns that run the game at the moment.
