  1. I totally agree. When I visited Liverpool there were adverts and billboards all over the city advertising Liverpool and Everton. When I visited Anfield it was a hive of activity despite it not being a match day and it's in the middle of a housing area. Yet there were dozens of tourists/fans there to see the stadium go on the tour etc... Rangers could easily replicate this in my opinion.
  2. Would the contract not still void if the company entered liquidation? Even if it was an English club
  3. He admitted fraud in the BBC interview. He said he knew Administration/Liquidation was a virtual certainty when he took over Rangers. Yet he still took out the loan with Ticketus. So unless Ticketus were in on it they were never getting their money back....
  4. I'd like this to be true. It would maybe help teach our young stars how to look after themselves. I said to my mate last week who was at the Celtic game that most of the Celtic team look overweight or out of shape. Where as most of the Juventus team looked fit and athletic. If we could transfer that sort of mentality to our youngsters they'd be getting a great start......
  5. I don't know to be honest. But if I were in charge at Rangers I'd certainly be looking at that sort of thing. Imagine if you came off the train at Glasgow Central and 1 of the first things you see is a billboard advertising Rangers. I'm sure it would generate interest in the club....
  6. We need a better partnership with local authorities in Glasgow. I was in Liverpool recently and in the city their are billboards all over it advertising Liverpool and Everton shops too, why can't we have this in Glasgow advertising Rangers and Celtic for that matter?......
  7. Goram and Gazza were team mates.
  8. Laudrup was an amazing player for us in Scotland the best by far at his time. He wasn’t so good for us in Europe. I put that down to Walter Smith not being able to take us to the next level. I think had he played in the initial Advocaat side which was a “top class” forward away from making a real impact in Europe then we would remember Laudrup even more fondly than what we already do.
  9. Slander is spoken - Libel is written A lot of Leggats stuff is hot air. He never really seems to be able to back up his claims. Like you say an anonymous email. He could've sent that to himself. (anonymously of course ) Now if someone that actually witnessed the incident were to come forward and say it alongwith corroboration from others. Then it could be taken seriously. But for now it just seems like more hot air
  10. While he was fairly talented and achieved a lot at Rangers. He disgraced himself and Rangers with his antics while on Scotland duty. For me he shouldn't be allowed back. Had he behaved likea Rangers captain then you would say it would probably have been a natural progression for himto coach at the club then who knows. But he didn't so no, not for me
  11. I would ask why no legal action was taken against the tax case blog by Rangers and HMRC (during the tax case). The blog played a big part in making the Rangers brand toxic. I can't understand why Rangers at the very least never served them with a cease and desist. Rangers not doing this made the blogger/s more and more arrogant.
  12. Our record in transfer dealings over the years has been appalling. As has our record at developing our own talent. A number of our youngsters go on to have successful careers elsewhere. Why cant we develop these players to that stage?
  13. McLeish had a good record as Scotland boss. Something like 7 wins in 10 games. I'm not convinced about Strachans qualities as a manager but will give him a chance and his interviews will most likely be good
  14. If the consortium keeps its promises and doesn’t allow the club to become over extended like it was before, then Rangers could be a very successful business. If Rangers are run in the correct fashion then the club should pay for itself. It has the infrastructure to be built upon, stadium, fan base and training facilities etc. I would very much like to see that and wouldn't care if the owner(s) was taking a cut from it. As long as they weren't bleeding us dry.
  15. Q. The only non Scottish Player to score a hat trick in an Old Firm game? (For Rangers)
  16. Brian McClair? I've a suspicion this wasn't for Celtic. I remember watching a show that showed this when I was a boy he might have done it for Motherwell.
  17. Did Chris Woods not end up at Everton it may have been as a coach right enough not convinced he played Mo Johnston David Weir Andy Gray Thomas Myhre Paul Rideout Michael Ball Trevor Steven Gary Stevens Steven Naismith Duncan Ferguson Paul Gascoigne Iain Durrant Stuart McCall Alec Cleland Francis Jeffers Andrei Kanchelskis Richard Gough Mikel Arteta James Beattie John Spencer Nikica Jelavic Alex Scott I cheated to find these 2 but both interesting reads: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Stevenson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torrance_Gillick
  18. I agree. Also when D+P included the BTC in the creditors report it just added to the hysteria surrounding us at the time. When it should have been a time for level headedness and common sense reporting. Had I been writing on Rangers I would have made damn sure I got my facts right. But to me it looks like they went "f**k that £134 million debt sounds better" I really hope David Murray holds these people accountable for the false headlines and blogs about Rangers even those who have apologised it has been anything but sincere. Stuart Cosgrove sounded like he said it through gritted teeth.
  19. I think the BTC influenced decisions and reactions from clubs and fans. But you are right, on paper we were punished for the actions of Craig Whyte.
  20. Think he was a Rangers fan too If I remember right
  21. I remember the Andy Dibble OF game well. Mark Hateley came back for that game too and got sent off if memory serves I also remember Billy Thomson and Mark Brown playing for us during that period as well. I looked up Mark Brown on Wiki hard to believe he is only 31 he seems to have been around forever.
  22. Leitiz started as No 1 under Le Guen. But injury and poor form on Leitizi's part meant that eventually McGregor became first choice. Burke made about 40 appearances give or take over the 18 months or so he was there under Smith. I'm not sure how that translates though i.e. Substitute appearances
