  1. The Rangers Swifts used to play in a AC Milan style red and black stripes apprently? Does anyone have a picture of that? Cheers in advance How's about this for an away strip?..... They have the same badge after all...
  2. Agreed. I was merely just quoting what he had said TBH
  3. I recall at the time when Murray first came forward with his Blue Knights plan he said that some of the amounts mentioned where "eye watering"? Does this suggest that the names yet to be revealed are the main backers?
  4. Love this idea. Despite red and black being prominent in Rangers history: the colours of Govan, a nod to the yards, the colour worn by the successful Swifts team, the colour of our famous socks.... there are some bams on RM who want an orange scarf as red and black won't annoy Celtic fans??!! Are these idiots for real? Do the measure their love for their club by the what we can do to annoy Celtic fans? Deary me... And can someone tell me WTF orange has got to do with Rangers? As an ex-pupil of Govan High that wore the balck/red tie and sports kits with pride I think this is a great idea. I also think the blue star on white was just as valid but orange....? I have news for these guys, not every Rangers fan has allegience to the Orange Order for goodness sakes
  5. The Scotland goalie strip should always be yellow with a huge big red lion on the chest. As should the Gers one for that matter
  6. Sorry Allan but again you're missing the point dude. I fully understand our support is derived from a broad church and most people accept that but I think that lack of acceptance comes from the a certain section of our support that immediatley brand any Rangers fan who supports Scotland or doesn't do the Orange thing disloyal. I can accept their reasons for supporting Rangers. Why can't they accept there are fans that have other reasons?
  7. Sadly agree mate but hopefully things will change. I was recently heartened to hear the Gallant Pioneers song at Ibrox as it is all about Rangers and their origins. It's great TBH. For me the very fabric of our club is defined by often told stories, great players, celebrated teams, iconic managers and wonderful heart stopping goals not battles from 300 years ago or what Celtic are up to. These are the things that should always drive our songs and support
  8. No apologies needed mate. I am not on here to make enemies. It's all about good chat and listening to other people's opinions. I joined this forum because you don't really get that on the other sites (IMO).
  9. On this point I genuinely feel sorry for real practicing Protestants. And by that I don't mean guys who go to Rangers games and Orange walks. I'm talking about real Protestants who have faith and worship on a regular basis.
  10. Jeso.. read my post mate. I was merely telling what Rangers are to me. I don't see Rangers as a extension to my political views and life. They are a football that I have supported all my life and will always support. I just don't marry these thing together.
  11. I for one I'm very proud of my Queen and the job she does for our country I'm also proudly British and believe the union is one of the Worlds greatest achievements, it seems to be a bad thing in today's republican Scotland to show support for anything British which I think is terribly sad and some what racist to say the least. Good for you. That's you right after all. I have not condemed the Queen or the Monarchy at any stage. I just stated on these sites that I wasn't bothered about them (hardly hatred?) and was immediately branded a Tim. etc. I take it you will be asking Rangers to remove all signs of the Queen from Ibrox and a total stop of all Union Flags being flown at Ibrox. I think you're adding 2 + 2 and coming up with 5 mate Whether you like it or not Rangers stand for the union and that includes the Monarchy you seem to dislike so much. As for the nonexistent agenda against us by the other side if you really think hand on heart they are not trying with every fibre in their being from the top of the powers in this country to the wee man in the street to see us finished, then you are sadly deluded my friend and we are right royally fucked if more of the Rangers family feel the same. Whether I like it? Rangers stand for the Union? Sorry first things first. Don't tell me what Rangers are and what they stand for. I have been a Rangers fan all my life and in my eyes they are a football team. That's what they stand for. Great players, great teams, great goals. I am sorry but my football allegience does not shape my political view. That would be just plain daft TBH
  12. I would love Graeme Souness to get involved in Rangers in some capacity. I'm not one for the going back to the past thing but with Souness it wouldn't have anything to do with the football on the pitch. Graeme Souness is a highly respected ex-player with a great deal of experience and IMO he always carries him self well and is the kind of figurehead that could both attract players, new business and cash injection
  13. 100% right Juan. It's like Arthur Miller's Crucible on these sights. I even made a good luck comment about the Rangers players that were picked to play for Scotland senior and U-21 teams and was branded republican scum?? Are these guys for real? Would you brand Alan Morton, Davie Meiklejohn, Geordie Young, John Greig, Jim Baxter, Richard Gough and Davie Cooper republican scum because they played and in some cases captained for their nation (Scotland) with pride.
  14. First of all thanks for the comments guys. I don't want anyone to think that I posted this and just bolted. I got tied up last night and couldn't read any of the replies With regards to the above reply by chilled bear, I don't necassarily find the old Sash Bash/orange strip thing offensive but I do find the presumption that this is what Rangers is all about very annoying. I am a Rangers fan that has zero interest in Northern Ireland, Orange walks, "religion" and I am sure there are thousands like me? If anyone is proposing a strip to raise money then why not a Gallant Pioneers Blue Star commemorative strip? Why not a black and red strip to celebrate our Govan heritage? Or something positive like that? These colours/strips would unite Rangers fans under one banner IMO whereas the orange strip idea isolates a large selection of our support and just serves as a flag to wave to get under the noses of the Celtic fans.
  15. The Flo deal was a bit bonkers but we did get back £8 million for him and he did score 29 goals in 55 games which isn't that shoddy TBH. I would say that the worst deals of recent years will be found over at Parkhead. £5 million for Raphael Scheidt and no return? Efraim Saurez for £3 million and a handful of performances. I won't even start on the Bangura deal.....
  16. I fully understand that Frankie but these are not minority views on these sites IMO.
  17. As a lifelong Rangers fan I have to admit I write this thread with a heavy heart. Over the last few weeks that I have been rather dismayed some of the recent reactionary online reaction by some of my fellow Rangers "fans". When I joined this forum I was happy to see a balance to the admin and a decent platform for varying views as I personally found the exact opposite on other more "prominent" forums (Rangers Media and Follow Follow). When I registered on here I also metioned that I was banned from the Rangers Media site as I dared to question Ally's selections and that I wasn't fussed about The Royal Family..??!! I was immediately tarred as a "tarrier" in a Crucible like juvenile witch hunt. Anyway...I found it all very bizarre considering the level of hate and extreme views shown in other posts. Over the last few weeks there have been posts on these forums along the lines of "The Menu When Lennon Dies", "We Should Bring The Orange stripe back to raise money", "Sash Bash" etc. I also sense a growing sense of paranoia among many of these fans regarding the press, the government, the SFA, the church etc. etc. I'm all for a bit of football banter but this is just plain stupid IMO. This is what does my head in. In a time when our great club is on the brink of existence and each day brings another worrying story about our recent past these guys feel that this is the best way to support the club? If I was a neutral and I stumbled upon those sites and wanted to get a wee picture of what is going on at Rangers at the moment and maybe gauge the feeling of the fans I would be utterly appalled by some of these posts. Do these guys actually feel like they speak for all Rangers fans?? Well not in my name
  18. To be honest thisn has been rumoured since day one. There is something that just doesn't ring true about all this IMO
  19. I take that on board Frankie but ultimately fans are simple creatures. Over the last 5 years or so of major downsizing we have won 3 league titles (almost 4) and took part in the UEFA cup final. Up until our recent implosion on the pitch we were 15 points ahead in the league so sometimes it's hard for fans to mobilise for great change during a period when we have been relativley succesful on the pitch. For example I keep seeing our situation being compared to Celtic in the 90's but people seem to forget that Celtic fans only mobilised after a turgid 6 years of finishing outwith the top 2 (they even finished 5th one year) and losing finals to Aberdeen and Raith Rovers. So much for Parkhead faithful just not accepting it. It took them almost 6 years of dross and bankruptcy to do anyhting drastic about it It's been evident that change was needed at our club and the appearance of the Tax case has only amplified that but as I said above most fans are simple in their needs and just want a winning team and more times than most over the last 5/6 years, that's what we've had. Mobilisation and demonstration will happen now that we are on the brink. I just hope it's not too little too late.
  20. Jeso. It's getting to the stage that I'm scared to read anything new online/in the media as it just seems to get worse by the day....
  21. No great surprise TBH. Not as dissapointed as seeing McKay go but regardless of admin you have to wonder about paying nearly £400,000 to get this guy out of his contract and then hardly playing him.
  22. As much as Ally has been somewhat hamstrung there is simply no excuse for playing so many players out of position and continuing with the turgid long ball tactics. On the few occasions this season we have looked like a team it's only been when we got the ball on the floor and passed the flipping thing
  23. Go on Jaun be cynical. If you don't I will. Remember Ally was the man who coined the famous quote after Lafferty's injury V Motherwell...."when big Kyle came off it FORCED us to play the ball on the deck...??!!" Also from the same interview, he stated that he ALLOWED Fleck to get forward? What else would you want him to do? I have great admiration for Ally the Player and what he's done during this crisis but he is not a good manager by any stretch of the imagination
