  1. Personally, I am not too bothered at the lack of a performance this season. The motive is to win the title and move upwards. Nothing else is all that important. Sadly, it is the same for the next two seasons also. Win the league and move up. What's the point in moving up the leagues and not learning anything? Our standard of play and organsistion are beyond a joke tbh and will only get found out even more in the leagues above us. It is not merely about winning leagues IMO. That's the just the same short sighted BS that has hampered our club for years now. Not only did we need to start again from square one in our league status but we should have started from fresh in our general long term thinking. Performance, progression and style should be be up there with winning
  2. Good points GA. Let's face facts people. We need a new manager ASAP and no amount of debate will change my opinion on that one. Ally is a great guy and a legend at our club but he will never be a football manager in a million years
  3. I know this might sound like a stoopid question but what the hell are Irish "Republicans" in this country marching for? Is IT a United Ireland? If so why have these marches in Scotland? Surely if they felt that bad about living in this horrible country they should move back to the country they love and organise marches/protests/meetings about their desired "end game".

  5. I had the misfortune to accidently bump into a Republican march around the Science Centre area yersterday and it was truly depressing. Why have these guys suddenly become uber-Irish/Celtic fans all of a sudden? I had many mates when I was young who were Celticfans from Irish descent and this stuff just was never on the agenda. Does this new wave of Irish Republicanism run parallels with the young pro-active and angry Muslim communites in the UK? As above, this wouldn't happen in Muslim communities back in the day?
  6. Totally agree GA. We need to adopt better long term thinking throughout the whole club. For example if we do have a decent talent, don't spend the whole friggin time worrying about if and when he leaves, go on the premise that there is a good chance he will leave therefore make sure you have set plans in place to deal with it. I hate to say it but that's what the mhanks have been doing over the last few years. They might lose Hooper but they have a steady stream of other strikers in their squad and I'm sure they will have other irons in the fire to deal with this.
  7. Good article. I genuinely think fans would be more tolerant and buy into a vision if it was there for all to see. I know we all have a desire to rise as quickly as we can through the leagues but you have to think has anyone at Ibrox stopped for a minute and thought "What is the final stop in this journey?" "Where do we want to be?" IMO we have been so preoccupied with getting up the leagues we haven't taken the time to look at a long term plan. We have been given the chance to rip it up and start again. A unique opportunity to reboot our club. We have been handed a fresh canvas etc. etc.... IMO we should be laying the foundations that will hold our great club in good stead for the challenges and decades ahead (whatever they may be) and for me that all starts on the pitch. If you there is no success/progress/vision on the playing side of things we won't get far in any of our off field ventures (as well as season ticket renewals) We need a radical new dawn at Ibrox and I fear all we are getting is the same tired ideas. For example I've read articles about possible replacements for McCoist if he was to leave. The names I've heard include Butcher, McCall etc. Here's a novel idea...why not just forget looking to the past for answers and try to come up with some new ideas? Forget old players from the 9IAR era, forget "Rangers men through and through". Why not give a young ambitious manager the chance as this is probably the only time in our history we will have the chance to do this. I don't give a damn if he has Rangers connections. I just want him to know how a football team works. I want a manager that can get the best from young players and under performing players? I want a manager that instills a tangible playing style that will be the foundation for the future of our club. Is that too much to ask? If not we should just change our name to Short Termism FC
  8. This has got to be one of the most depressing threads on here in ages. Playing players here, playing player there. Bringing in Tom, Dick and Harry etc, etc... It won't make a jot of difference. McCoist and co seem to have the inability to get the most from our of players. Their tactics are bordering on 70's/80's non football sometimes and bringing in new players or changing formations won't make a difference IMO. Name a player that has gone forward as a player under McCoist? Everybody seems to be going friggin backwards and the sooner we realise we need to rip and start again the better. We need a manager that grasps how to set teams up and instills a love of the football and passing. We also need one that has a long term plan and vision that will lay the foundations for the next 20/30 years of our team. Not just one that will get us stumbling back to whatever "promised land" we will be playing in...
  9. Wish people would just come and call a spade a spade. Clafirication FC have their grubby paws all over this. Oh wait...they're basiclally running the show now....
  10. Yes but you're missing the point. Juventus had no friggin right to claim these titles. They were found guilty of cheating big time. They had no fall back position IMO
  11. Maybe he wasn't aware of that? Well maybe he should do some reading before making these statements. I'm sorry to go on about this but Juventus were rightly stripped of their titles because their officials and manager were implicated in complex newtork of cheating with refs. They made decisions that had a major effect on what happened on the field of play. For an official from Rangers to even mention this in realtion to us is a friggin major PR own goal but hey we're Rangers...we seem to excell at that
  12. Yes but he compared us to a team that clearly didn't win on it on the field of play using fair means. Let's not forget the Juventus scandal involved refs, managers etc. that were all implicated on stuff that could effect what happened on the pitch
  13. How is comparing us to the Juventus affair in any way helpful?
  14. "Juventus had a couple of championships stripped from them but continue to say they have won them. We would have been the same." I'm sorry Walter. You are a legend but with that statement you only give Rangers a disservice and provide our haters with more fuel. How was our SPL investigation in any way comparable to the Juventus case? They were found guilty of top level match fixing over a period of time and were rightly punished. Rangers were found "guilty" of nothing more than shoddy paperwork and a respected panel deemed that we gained zero sporting advantages on the pitch. Very poor statement from Watty IMO
  15. Amazing pic. Brought a wee lump to my throat that did
  16. Word of advice Charles. Have a few weeks off. You don't need to be in the media everyday making soundbites and making statements.
  17. i await with baited breath to hear what old Wotsit teeth has got to add on this. After all he promised us more at another time didn't he?
  18. Agreed Frankie. We could do with a few weeks without any statements or sound bites from Mr Green tbh. It's getting a bit weary IMO
  19. Which had to be the most cringeworthy press release in a long time. As the guy said on Talk Sport "why don't you wrap yourself up in yourself a little bit more?" or words to that effect. It was a truly pathetic statement from Sanctimonious FC. Even by their standards
  20. Should this not be renamed "Potential managers/coaches"?
  21. There is only one club that doesn't want to draw a line under this. It was the club driving the whole thing in the first place
  22. Who's fitting the bill? Shifty Pete and Clarification FC?
  23. On the ROI thing, I did notice that were the usual dissapointing comments on the Rangers Media thread. These guys need to seriously get a life tbh. Glad to see none of that crap on here. Thank god for Gersnet
  24. My my. If true, this is a bit depressing IMO. What vision does this show? Is our long term thinking a case of...."Ok Big Lee is the wrong side of 49, Kevin Kyle has not moved in 3 months... so we need a younger target/battering ram to replace him...let's go for the young boy Daly at United. He's only just turned 30..."
  25. I have to agree. Just because it happened before makes the evident lack of development in our playing style somehow ok? Deary me....
